Pros: Front & rear AC. Strong V-6 engine with pick up and GO! Cons: Poor leg room for front passenger. Cd player is in a very bad spot!
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this van to anyone who wants's reliable transportation with major pick up and go
General Vehicle Information:
The 2000 GMC Safari is an amazing mini-van. Plenty of space with both bench seats removable. Two captains’ chairs for upfront. One draw back so far is that the front passenger captains chair, even with the...

Pros: Cargo hauling capacity, All wheel drive, durability and utility Cons: Front passenger leg room is bad, continual issues with brakes The Bottom Line: If you are looking for van with truck-like capabilities, this is a good choice.
OVERVIEW: We have had our Safari a few years now, on balance it was a good purchase. It is big, goes anywhere due to the AWD, and you can haul/tow almost anything with it. This is more like a truck than a "minivan". It rides on a truck frame and feels ...

Pros: Safety, comfort, space, handy features Cons: vans guzzle gas
Note: Epinions has just moved this to the incorrect category. Ours is a 95 Safari, and not the 2000 model.
Before we got the Safari, we looked at dozens of models of vans. Many people think a van is a van and they all look alike....

Pros: Good power in the V-6 engine, Great AC system Cons: Very Poor Handling, Poor Leg Room in front seats The Bottom Line: Nice little mini-van.
I recently had to rent a 2000 GMC Safari mini-van
out on the road after my primary mode of transport
failed me.
All the rental place had left to rent out to me was
a choice between one green Safari, a red one or a
silver...

Pros: It seats 7 people Cons: Just about everything you can think of. Lemon lemon lemon
GMC needs better mechanics The Bottom Line: Stay clear of this van...too many problems and no real help....even GMC trained mechanics aren't much help!
The word LEMON could be defined as a "GMC Safari Van". The words Money Pit could be defined as a "GMC Safari Van". Need I say more? We bought this pile of junk used. It was clean and it "appeared" to be a solid car. However, we have spent a small ...

Pros: Interior room and Towing capacity (5000 LBS) Cons: GAS - Only gets between 15-17 MPG The Bottom Line: The best minivan out there. You can not beat it!!
I have test driven about 6 different models of minivans and the Safari was the best of them all. There is plenty of room for the whole family with a lot left for the bags!! I have owned this van for 13 months without a single problem. The engine is very...

Pros: many seats, fair amount of room, ac and heat control in front and back. Cons: replacement of same parts over a short period of time. low gas mileage.
We have had our Safari mini-van for 5 years now. All in all it is a good car. V6 with get up and go. There are various different things that we have had to replace. Such as the starter just went out we have replaced the back hatch air compressed levers 2 times and need to again replace them and normal maintenance. The seal on the front window has had to be replaced as well. It get approx 17-20 Miles to the gallon. Having removable seats makes it great for hauling stuff.
