Pros: RUNS THINGS OVER Cons: Doesn't fit on small roads
Where’d This Bad Boy Come From?
New name, but same old car. The 2000 GMC Yukon XL is simply the car we knew as the Chevrolet Suburban. It appears it is just GMC’s ploy to compete against the Ford Expedition, which has been gaining...

Pros: perfect SUV Cons: somewhat expensive
I had a Ford Windstar and was pretty sick of it. Everyone in the world has a green minivan and we had recently had problems with it. So now we wanted a new car, but what? Well a friend of ours has a GMC and Buick dealership so we went to see him. I...

Pros: SAFE, extremely comfy, much better driving experience with the 2K model Cons: Can occasionally be a beast to park - but worth it
My folks have bought a new Suburban every year since about '86 and this one is definitely the best so far. Finally, a sunroof is available! One just feels safe inside this massive metal cocoon. It is certainly one of the biggest vehicles on the road,...

Pros: Large, but not too large, Powerful, Rugged, Solid, Great Ride, Reliable. Cons: NONE The Bottom Line: If you wan't to carry nine people in comfort, but want the capabilities of a truck without going the extreme, with a smooth agile ride, Go with the Yukon XL.
The Yukon XL is more than just a cabin bolted to a pickup chassis. From the A-pillar back, the SUV uses box-section frame rails with full length hydro-formed frame. This gives the Yukon XL the most rigid SUV chassis you can buy. The Yukon XL also shares...

Pros: INDEPENDENT REAR! Powerful engines, luxo look Cons: little pricy
I currently own a 97 Yukon, and I just bought a new 00' Yukon. This new model is so much better, I can't believe it! Now, most non-loyal GMC people will take awhile to get used to the new look, but when they do, they can't take their eyes off it! This...

Pros: body style, luxury, shocks, brakes, handling Cons: none that I can find
The decision to purchase this vehicle was a long and arduous process. My first notion in buying a new car was a luxury car. But then I saw the new body style of the GMC Yukon. I can tell you this think handles great. You wouldn't think it could . It...

Pros: Excellent exterior, interior. Smooth ride. Lots of great features. Cons: Weak warranty.
After owning our first SUV, a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, my wife and I were very dismayed by these vehicles. It made all sorts of noises. It felt like every time we went around a corner it would tip over. Several times we would brake and the car would easily...

The GMC Yukon is one of the best cars out there besides the Yukon XL. The Yukon offers a great driving performance with some added features such as: Power steering and CD player. There is also plenty of room even if you have a stereo in the back. I...

Pros: Very roomy, easy to drive & park Cons: Needs more/larger rear storage compartments
Make no mistake about it, the GMC Yukon is a truck. Not that that's a bad thing, it is what some of us need. What is great about it is the way it does not feel like a truck to drive or park. We used to have an SUV, here is how we happened upon our new...

Pros: Every possible luxury feature except sun-roof, what else it doesn't have, probably doesn't exist. Cons: Front driver's and passenger door latches sometimes stick. The Bottom Line: I would buy another one in a minute. Although the trend is to smaller cars, (savings versus comfort), if you can afford it, sometimes comfort and safety trumps gas savings.
I bought my Denali in 2000 after driving a 1992 Jeep Laredo (which I bought new) and a used Toyota Corolla. I intended to buy another Jeep but after a salesman talked me into test-driving the Denali.... It was love at first sight. The only hesitation ...

Pros: Roomy and comfortable, Sharp-looking and luxury in a SUV Cons: Relatively expensive, gas guzzler
I helped a friend of mine shop for one of these new Yukon vehicles. I don't want you to believe that I am on the market for a new vehicle. I should correct myself immediately. One never knows when a good deal will fall onto one's laps. But I can't...

Pros: Powerful, comfortable, sharp looks Cons: Quite large, twitchy handling The Bottom Line: The 2000 GMC Yukon is an excellent vehicle that is a perfect blend of power and comfort.
When my parents decided to buy a new SUV, I was excited to go car shopping with them. We had narrowed it down to two vehicles: a 2000 Explorer and a 2000 Yukon. Both were in the same price range, and both had their pros and cons. We thought of...
