Pros: AWD, ABS system. Honda engineering. Fair fuel economy for this vehicle. Cons: Broken latch on rear slide door. Lower to the ground than expected. The Bottom Line: Be aware that this is as much a station wagon as an "SUV." Otherwise, it is as-advertised. It runs great and I think it will for a long, long time.
Howdy. I bought a 2000 Honda CR-V EX in October, 2005. I have been driving it since, a little over a year. I'll give you a full report about the performance of the vehicle, as a well as a stripped-down list of specifications of this vehicle. ...

Pros: Excellent interior and easy to drive. Cons: Could use more insulation from outside noises -(I just crank up the music) The Bottom Line: I wish I had known what a good make of car Honda was, I'd bought one earlier. Absolutely free from any recalls or service notices.
3/29/03 - Update on my Honda CR-V - here it is almost 3 years later and I have yet to take this SUV in for anything other than its routine oil changes. Oh, I forgot did have to buy a windshield wiper for the rear window, started to come loose I...

Pros: Reliable, soundly built, good gas mileage, attractive, fun Cons: Wish I had two of them :) The Bottom Line: An excellent buy, a comfortable ride, a superior product. The CR-V is the final word in small SUVs.
In the summer of 2003, my wife and I decided that we wanted to start having children. At the time, she was driving a 1994 Nissan Sentra that, while it had served us well, was too small and too skittish in the snow to continue as my wife's car once a ...

Pros: Cool features Cons: Needs more power
Just recently, my mother had her 1992 Toyota Camry stolen. Having one's car stolen is a traumatic event. It is violating a persons personal security bubble. So her and I went car shopping.
We compared several different models of different...

Pros: Mileage, reliability, comfort, cargo, traction ( with proper tires). Cons: Could use 25 extra Horsepower for passing. Sub-par sound system. The Bottom Line: Many very good parts of an excellent package. Overall at the price, a steal.
The unit : 2000 Honda CR-V, LX (base) model, 5 speed, ac, ps, pb, cruise, tilt, AWD. After much research and haggling, I settled on a 2000 CR-V with 93000 km ( 62000 mi ) on it. This was a good local trade ( thankyou CARFAX for being worth every ...

Pros: Useful, Fun, Thought Out Interior, Handling Cons: Noisy, Underpowered, Seems a Little Crude. The Bottom Line: Honda has taught us to expect a lot from an entry level car, too bad this one doesn't deliver. However, many owners rave about the CRV.
Honda has done an excellent job of putting its name in our minds. Think quality; Honda comes to mind. Think durability; Honda comes to mind. Think value; Honda comes to mind. This is no accident; Honda has spent millions on advertising, and building...

[UPDATE, 20-Dec-2001 - almost two years later: the car is still going strong, running well. No unscheduled maintenance. Still comfortable, safe, and everything I wrote below still applies]
The Honda CR-V is the only car on the market...

Pros: Smooth ride, Great in-town vehicle; Very solid on winter roads Cons: Pricey, odd interior "features"
We shopped around for a replacement for our aging Ford Windstar minivan. The only "real" requirements were that it be high like the van, but not as big. We had owned a Chevrolet Blazer back in the early nineties and didn't like it all that...

Pros: VERY easy on the wallet/Great for the City and the Dirt roads. Cons: Less towing capacity than some may want.
What can I say... I was absorbed by the SUV world.
I was always a car driver. Low to the ground, cornering on rails...
Anyway. I started to look around after my wife suggested I get a 4wd instead of another Accord. I looked at...

Pros: Reliable, Driver Friendly Size Inside & Out, Drives Better Than Some Cars, Affordable. Cons: Might Be Underpowered For Those Really Looking For A Durango. The Bottom Line: This is a great vehicle for anyone looking for a reliable people and cargo hauler, but does not really want to pay the premium price for a big SUV.
This review is on my Electric Blue EX 4WD model 2000 CRV. I bought this vehicle new and it now has approx 60,000 miles so I will focus more on how the vehicle has done over the last 60,000 miles rather than reviewing it as a new vehicle. The additions...

Pros: Fuel efficient, Decent Power, attractive body styling, very versatile. Cons: Seats not as comfortable as they should be. Not V-tech. The Bottom Line: Great for families, college student and basicly anyone who loves to camp or travel.
I recently purchased one of these from my local dealership. I had shopped around for the right one and decided on a metalic blue 5 speed with nice alloy rims and a decent stereo system. For what I intended to use this car for it works better than I had...

Pros: Good deal, practical and fun to drive! Cons: Minor issue of odd placement of drivers-side window controls
My 10-year-old Nissan Sentra was really falling apart (I thought the engine would fall out while I was driving) and I needed a new car. I never liked my Nissan so it was important that I get a car I would enjoy driving. I researched cars for a...

Well, I went and did it, after swearing that I would never own a "mini-ute" I went out and bought a new 2000 Honda CR-V for my wife. For those of you familiar with my opinions, I have raved about the Jeep Cherokee in the past, and still am...

Pros: Excels at what it is designed for! Cons: Could use slightly more power. The Bottom Line: Benefits of an SUV, liveability of a car.
I sometimes say, 'I like a vehicle that excels at something'.
The Honda CR-V specializes in being clever, and that goes a long, long way.
I did compare this SUV to others such as the 2000 Toyota RAV-4, Nissan X-Terra, Suzuki Grand...
