You See These Everywhere For a Reason

by jei_aguinaldo
Aug 17 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliable, Dependable, Smoothe, Fuel Efficiency. It's a Honda! What else do you need to know?
Cons: The fact that Honda Civics lead the list of most stolen vehicles in the U.S.
The Bottom Line: You see Civics everywhere for a reason and that reason is the fact that hard not to like.

I have owned two of these 2000 Honda Civics within a year. The two models I have owned are the 2000 Civix EX Coupe and the 2000 Civic Si Coupe. Many similarities between the two models, however, the SI is just one of a kind. After owning a Mitsubishi ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great gas mileage; Built very solid; Tons of interrior room for a car this size.
Cons: No strings attaching the trunk space cover to the hatchback/ trunk door.
The Bottom Line: Like driving a BMW. This car is sturdy like steel and runs great. Great gas mileage. You will drive for miles and miles and miles and miles.

This was my first "real" car. My parents helped me buy it when I graduated high school. After driving a 1986, run-down old Mazada 626 for a year and a half in high school I was so very excited to get this car.
We wanted a hatchback car because it...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Affordable Performance Coupe, Honda Reliability
Cons: Like, Everyone Has A Civic

I had $20k to spend on a car. I wanted something fast, but not too flashy. I bought a Civic Si. The 160HP DOHC VTEC 4-cylinder engine purrs like a tame kitty in traffic but howls like a V-6 past 5500 rpm when the VTEC kicks in. Oh, baby.

Pros: sporty drivetrain and good value
Cons: unspory seats

In October of 1999 I purchased a 2000 civic Si. I remember when I first heard that it was coming to America, from that point on I always wanted one. Finally in October of 1999 I got behind the wheel of a new civic Si. I started...

Pros: Everything a Civic has to offer
Cons: Lack of Power

I just purchased a brand new 2000 Civic EX Couple 5-Speed in CA. Now, I'm not really sure why, but the car really lacks acceleration. It takes 5 seconds to go from 0-30 mph. I recently discovered that the vehicle is classified as a LEV (Low Emission...

Pros: Quality, history, looks, performance, price
Cons: weak stereo, tires

I have owned a 2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe 5-speed for about 6 months and I love it. I strongly recommend manual transmission in this car to get the full sporty feel it can offer. This car can be "wound out" through the gears for some fun...

Pros: Economical, very fun.
Cons: No tachometer, underpowered.
The Bottom Line: The Civic is an economical decision with a surprisingly low opportunity cost.

The Honda Civic DX was my first new car purchase. Before this I had owned a wide variety of used cars, and I've always had maintenance problems. I'm happy to say that purchasing a Civic was an economical decision that I have never regretted.

Pros: Good quality, appealing price.
Cons: Engine is under-powered.
This car is amazing, considering what you get for the price. The quality that you get is spectacular. Gas mileage is the best thing about this car. If you are in the market for a used car, you should definitely check this car out. I had the car for a long time now, and all I had to do so far was change the oil.

Pros: nice body, smooth drive
Cons: transmission failed at 63,000 miles
I love my 2000 civic (vp model, value package, bottomline civic) But the tranny went out on my way home for Christmas! I broke down 7 hours away from home on Xmas Eve! It cost me $3600 to get a new tranny (with a 2 yr waranty). :( I thought when I paid $9400 for a year 2000 honda I wouldn't have any problems. But now we see that when we check the fluid, for some reason it's hard to get it to give an accurate reading of the fluid levels. ?? But I'm from a Honda family and my boyfriend is buying a 1995 civic ex. Still have faith in honda even after my horrible experience.
