Pros: Great handling. Convenient. Fantastic MPG. Roomy. Cons: Crappy Speakers. Don't get stuck with green.
I gave up my BMW 3-series for this, and I have no regrets.
I was attracted to the Insight because it is a technological marvel. But, the best thing about it is that it's a blast to toss around in on a windy road.
The Insight runs on...

Pros: No muss; no fuss; it feels, well, normal. Cons: Two-seater; five-speed manual transmission only. The Bottom Line: A true technological accomplishment. This thing feels like a conventional small car, but it's as high-tech as just about anything on the road.
How does one describe the Honda Insight. Technologically advanced? Yep? Strange-looking? Yep. Limited in ability? Yep. Normal-feeling? Yep. Huh? Wait a minute!
That's right. This car drives and behaves like most other "conventional" small cars...

Pros: Price, Technology, Gas Mileage, Citroen Styling, It's a Honda Cons: Choppy Ride, No Cruise Control The Bottom Line: Honda can do better than this car. Unless you commute many miles each way, every week, don't bother with the Insight.
I want to like this car. 60 - 70 mpg, what's not to like. A car without the guilt of forever damaging the environment. I want to like the Insight, I really do. Trouble is, I don't think I would want to own one. I have had an Insight (red) for one...

Pros: 71mpg!!; ULEV Status; Comfortable; Drives Like a Real Car; Everything but MPG Comes 2nd. Cons: Not Overpowered; Only 2-Seats; Everything But MPG Comes 2nd. The Bottom Line: Honda managed to keep the "I want more fru-fru" people at bay, and build a real milestone in the American automotive scene.
To say that the Honda Insight is a hot car on the market would be an understatement. In California, Edmunds Automotive (the champions of the invoice-priced car) paid $1,682 above sticker price for their Insight. Honda dealers across the...

Pros: The best gas mileage in the world; always draws a crowd. Cons: Only seats two; no cruise control.
The Honda Insight is, at least at the time of this writing, a unique motor vehicle. It's a two-seat hatchback with a radical outward appearance somewhat reminiscent of an old SAAB 96 or even (for you REAL old-timers out there) a Kaiser Henry J. Some...

Pros: Turn heads, great gas mileage Cons: Two-seater, not alot of cargo space, underpowered The Bottom Line: It works, it does what it suppose to, but can you live with it? It's like a large motorcycle...where are your kids gonna sit? Grocery?
Disclaimer
I test driven this car along with the Prius (please read about it in my other ePinions). As such, I did not spend a great deal with it, so please keep this in mind.
First in the States!
Although the Prius was...

Pros: Acceleration, Handling, Economy, Price Cons: Trunk space; Just a Two-Seater
I'm driving a pre-production Honda Insight as the Pace Car in the Pasadena
Tournament of Roses Parade (TM) January 1, 2000. I test drove it this last
week. The model will be released for sale in the next couple of weeks. The
car, a sporty...

Pros: Excellent MPG, good acceleration, roomy and comfortable seating. Cons: Right rear blindspot, right side gas fill. The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for quality, fuel efficiency, FUN!
I have had the Insight for 30 days now and have logged 2700 miles. My lifetime mpg is now 63. My best mileage trip (130 miles over mixed highway and rural roads) was 78.8 mpg. In normal driving overall I get 60-65 mpg. About 40% of my mileage comes...

Pros: Pretty smooth ride, great gas mileage, smooth gearbox Cons: Somewhat loud ride on back roads The Bottom Line: I would have bought it if it had the CVT on it. Ordered the 2001 Insight instead.
I first spotted the 2000 Insight a few months ago when I had my Odyssey in for its regular check-up. I was impressed by the sleek styling, futuristic look and the wonderful gas mileage ratings on the sticker. Found out this was the gas/electric hybrid...

Pros: Brilliant design and execution Cons: A slightly rough ride
My purchase of a Honda Insight was a result of extreme skepticism. My experience in renting or driving econoboxes has not been good, and I knew that Insight had some peculiar qualities, such as terminating the A/C compressor and/or defroster at...

Pros: Gas milage of course Cons: Ugly body style, But neccassary
So honda is the one to make the first giant leap in gas mileage. infact quite a gap. 70mpg highway and 61mpg city. Thats pretty impressive for a car that can potentially seat 5. Its ugly futuristic design was necassary for aerodynamics to get the...

Pros: Mileage Cons: back seats
Honda Insight is one of the first gasoline-hybrid vehicles. It combines a 1.0 liter, 3-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The electric motor is used to give extra power for passing, or hill climbing, and it is also used for the power steering....

Pros: FAST, light, clean, SAFE...a super efficient gasoline car with electric afterburners... Cons: only a 2 seater The Bottom Line: Until practical proton exchange membranes (PEMs) and hydrogen fuel distribution systems make hydrogen or methane PEM powered electric cars a reality, this hybrid concept is where it's at.
Q: Is this an electric car?
A: Yes and no. It has a hybrid drive system. Think of it as about half electric, half gasoline powered.
Q: Do you ever have to plug it in?
A: No! That's what's so great about it. It makes it's own...

Pros: fun, environmentally friendly, stands out Cons: expensive, rear visibility a bit poor
I got my Insight a little over a week ago - and I really love it.
I live in Canada and they're only just available here - Honda is only selling 300 2000's in Canada; I put a payment down over a month ago, and was lucky to get one so...
