Pros: Adequate fuel economy, Used prices, Options, Exterior and interior styling. Cons: Limited head and leg room, Acceleration does not match aggressive design. The Bottom Line: A sporty looking car economy car, if you don't care about outright performance and a tight cabin this car is worth looking at.
Although the 2003 Hyundai Tiburon is a dramatic improvement in all respects over its previous generation, the predecessor cars such as the 2000 Hyundai Tiburon still offer a healthy amount of positive attributes. While having a relatively low-grade, ...

Pros: "Love-it-or-hate-it" styling. Comfy seats. Many standard features. Impressive warranty. Cons: "Love-it-or-hate-it" styling. More power needed. Slightly cramped interior. People who frown when you tell them you drive a Hyundai.
Ever since my days as a wee pup, my father always cautioned me: "you get what you pay for." I'm sure we've all learned that lesson the hard way at some point or another (even though we are savvy Epinions members!). Well, Hyundai has a...

Pros: Styling, Handling, Included Options, Warranty&Price, Guaranteed Attention-Grabber Cons: Dealer, Back seat, the "Hyundai" brand stigma, Not exactly a "real" sports car. The Bottom Line: Turns heads like no other car at this price range, Reliable and well-built, Handles great, Terrific value compared to Couger, Eclipse, Celica.
WOW!! All this for under $16K? This car will turn more heads than a Ferrari or a Porsche costing about 10 times as much... It's a really stylish, fun car to drive. This is coming from a young guy (that'll be me :)) who likes big, floating, "old-man"...

Pros: Style, Speed, Comfort, Head-turner, Cheap Cons: Tires, Seat design
I bought the Tiburon because I know it is a car that is not common in Ohio, especially in Columbus. I drive all around the town and I have yet to see another 2000. I get stares in the city and on the interstate. I commonly hear "nice Honda"...

Pros: all listed Cons: listed
This car is a definite surprise in any market. I have been driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse for the last two years and was looking for a car to replace it. I looked for acura, supra, and camero; but couldn't make a choice until I noticed this Tiburon. I...

Pros: Style, smooth shift pattern Cons: See above. Needs more power, better rims, tires, cup holders, interior space. The Bottom Line: Too much hassle. Worry about blowing out a tire or breaking down when driving.
I bought my 2000 Tiburon used in 2002. It's a really cool looking car on the inside and out. In 2004 I kept hearing a loud wobbling/grinding noise coming from the front end...I thought the tires were bad. So I had all four tires replaced just to be ...

Pros: Awesome looks, handling, and superb value Cons: Touchy brakes, steering too heavy
The 2000 Tiburon is a great improvement over last years model. The shark theme caries over and is much more evident this year with bold exterior and interior refinements. In fact, this car impressed me being a Hyundai with its awesome fit and finish...

Pros: Great car! Very responsive/sporty and the styling gets looks. Interior great also Cons: I'm allergic to it, apparently
I came very close to buying this car. When I was in the market for a new car, I looked closely at three different models: A Honda Civic Hatchback (wrote a review on that), a Ford Focus ZTS (never even test-drove it) and the Hyundai Tiburon.
I...

Pros: sporty looks and handling, fuel efficient, excellent warranty, and fit/finish. Cons: poor excelleration, "Hyundai stigma", higher insurance cost than Honda or Toyota, and high road noise. The Bottom Line: Used car worth considering if cheap and well maintained but will only have the 60mo/60K warranty. If new, there are better buys for the list price of the Tiburon.
Just bought a used 2000 Tiburon that was first sold in 2001 and only had 36K miles in 2006. My initial impression is that the engine is under powered, but does get decent gas mileage (~30mpg combined). Handling is very impressive around corners, but ...

Pros: Unique styling, comfortable seats, a lot of power for a 4 cylinder Cons: backseat only for petite!
I bought my 2000 Tiburon in January 2000 and I have been loving every minute of driving since then. The car is fast, fast, fast! Every time I am stopped at a red light someone wants to race me and I usually win! Some of the many standards of the car...

Pros: amazing options for the money Cons: very little headroom in the back seat
Just to preface, I am a 3 time new Hyundai owner. I owned a 92 Elantra, a 97 Tiburon, and now have a 2000 Tiburon for 2 months. The car is a testament to Hyundai's dedication to increased quality and reliability. The standard Tib with no extras comes...

Pros: Extra features! Cons: Too many stops at the shop
The Bottom Line: It's pretty on the outside...but the inside is poorly made!
Mine has been in the shop nine times this year!
November 2001 Update:
I broke down in the middle of an intersection!!! My car's engine was running on only two of the four cylinders! I had the car towed and repaired (All the electrical parts, plugs, wires, etc...were fried!) This car is just...

The new 2000 Tiburon from Hyundai, should meet some people with need for speed in low price. Also know as Turbulence in South Korea, it is actually a car for both the last and next generation. Tiburon is known for its ability and performance in race...
