Pros: Low Sticker price, Good looking car. Cons: Poor engineering and not really safe. The Bottom Line: Not recommended. The poor trade in value and over all flaws in design, make this vehicle over priced. I might feel differently if it sold for less that 10K.
After the second tranny failure we decided to donate our Mitsubishi Expo to charity and go with a Brand new vehicle. After price shopping and a little product research we settled on the 2000 Kia Sportage. Of course we expected to make some adjustments b ...

Pros: Great for the city Cons: poor acceleration for traveling
This is not a good SUV to use running around the mountain. The overall impression I have of the KIA Sportage is a poor one. I had the longest test drive you can have: a rental car. I drove over 1,100 miles in eleven days throughout the San Francisco...

Pros: comfortable, spacious, safety features Cons: trunk is a pain lifting and shutting, spare tire inconvenient
I was driving my little Dodge Neon for a few years, but it just wasn't working out anymore. I now have a very tall passenger sometimes who has to scrunch up like a jack in a box, literally, to fit in, so I needed more space and height. A small Sports...

Pros: Cheap Price, Nice Standard Features, Warranty, Great Gas Mileage. Cons: Poor Acceleration, Cheap interior The Bottom Line: Good SUV for the price, cheapest on the market for the standard features you get. Poor acceleration. Great gas mileage.
I recently purchased a 2001 Kia Soprtage back in June of 2001. My wife, 2 kids and I had shopped all of the usual car dealers looking for a second car with a little more room than the present car we have.. We looked and looked. What it finally came down...

Pros: smooth, sharp looking, great gas mileage, lots of room all a round Cons: doesn't do tight turns real good, slow pick up and go
I don't own this car personally but my roommate does. I drive it now more than I drive my own cause to be honest, its a lot better to drive then my 1995 Neon. It looks good, drive pretty good, and is great on gas.
My roommate brought this car...

Pros: Good looking, easy to maneuver in the city, nice "high" ride, good visibility, very affordable. Cons: LOTS of brake dust, low power engine, fan belt squeaky, fuel use not good, LOUD! The Bottom Line: An affordable way to have an SUV w/ 4x4 in a good looking package. Great for a first vehicle/single person.
After owning two Toyota Corollas and a VW Jetta, I wanted to upgrade into something with four wheel drive, something that sits higher off the ground and has more cargo room. Of course, I wanted to stay affordable as well. I had heard horror stories ...

Pros: Looks sharp; fun to drive; great price; great warranty; plenty of room for a family; great feeling standard transmission; enough power out of that four-cylinder to please me Cons: Body roll; getting into fifth gear; wind noise; wonder about the reliability of vehicle
Dueto pressure from my Wife, I've decided to start looking for a new vehicle. Currently, I've got a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 that I just love. It's small, it's fast and I can fly around corners like a bat out of hell. I often have a big time putting that...

Why Kia?
The first time a saw a Kia Sportage I was driving with a friend. I said that's the cutest car I've ever seen in my life, I must have one. I was pretty tired of my clunky old Blazer at the time, but not really ready to pick...

Pros: great style, comfort, roominess, manueverability, ride, sound system Cons: low fuel economy, no speed, low visibility
I recently had the opportunity to drive a 2000 fully-loaded Kia Sportage 4x4 for a significant period of time. It only had 18 miles on it when I got behind the wheel. I decided I wanted to try an SUV after I got tired of all the tiny sports...

Pros: Style, price, gas mileage Cons: Room The Bottom Line: They are darn good cars, at a darn good price.....
My friend purchased his Kia a few months ago and can't stop boasting about it. I always thought Kia was a waste of time to consider. Many people gave them a bad rap and know nothing of them. They assumed the price dictated the quality. In this case, I...

Pros: Cheap. Cons: Underpowered
Moving around the world with my company means that I get a few perks, one of which is driving a hire car of an extended period of time. In February when I moved to the Bay Area, I picked up KIA Sportage from Enterprise, with only a few thousand miles on...

Pros: Looks impressive Cons: Tippy with unsatifactory ground clearance for off road.
We recently took a test ride in a 2000 Sportage EX. The Window price was over $21,000. For considerably less we have found alternatives. Our interest is in a four wheel drive. The turning radius and center of gravity height, makes for a "tippy"...

Not long ago I sold Kia Sportages at a local dealership. I was one of the representatives that actually liked this little SUV.

I had a friend who drove a Kia Sportage as a rental car and it got me interested in the car. I went to a Kia dealer and within two hours, I had bought a brand new Kia 2000 Sportage EX.
I love the look of the car...not too big, not too small. I...

Pros: cost, equipment, looks Cons: none
I wanted to play with the "big boys" but most SUVs were totally out of my price range. I was tired of sitting on the ground in my sedan, tired of everyone else's high lights blinding me in my side mirrors, etc. I also didn't want the...
