great car - so under rated!

by
Oct 26, 2007 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Handling, fit & finish, balance, feel & driving experience & fuel mileage A1 !!!
Cons: 3.0 could have more HP's 1 cup holder & no traction control offered on 2000
The Bottom Line: best product ever to come out of FoMoCo. Would replace mine with a newer one.

I am a car nut, work as a program manager in automotive & have an engineering degree. I am SUPER picky when it comes to cars! I have owned & driven a ton of new vehicles so my review is based on facts. I bought a 2000 LS V6 Manual Trans in 2004 with ... read more

Pros: Looks nice when parked
Cons: See my review
The Bottom Line: It's back to Japan imports for me!

Believe me when I say I loved this car for the first year or so. I bought it from a dealer in 2003 with a whopping 23,000 miles on it. Then, the extended warranty expired and BANG, the car has self-destructed! 1st the transmission died, $4000.00. The ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Hard to beat the luxury for the price.
Cons: A few (mostly piddling) things.
The Bottom Line: The Lincoln LS is a reliable, luxury, driver's car!

I've owned a lot of interesting cars over the years. A couple of Corvettes ('63 and a '66 - both roadsters), three Jaguars (E-Type, XJS -12 cylinder- and an X-Type), a Lincoln Mark IV, a Mercedes 500SEL, a BMW 750IL (another 12 cylinder car), a ... read more

my love/hate feeling for this beautiful car

by
Apr 29, 2007 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: American beauty! Fun to drive. Perfect size for my family.
Cons: American quality. Money pit. Parts are hard to find and expensive.
The Bottom Line: It is hard to tell someone what to do, but if anyone wants to improve American quality we have to stand against this type of standard. Buy foreign.

I was in love at first site. I had to have one. I have been disappointed from the day I purchased my 2000 Lincoln LS. Before I took it home the dealer had to order a new cup holder and seat belt height adjuster. One month later the headlights were ... read more

The Bottom Line: Great Car, Comfortable and fun. Any car will have some quirks.

I recently bought a 2000 lincoln LS from my local lincoln dealer, black with black interior and the V8 package. The car is a dream, plain and simple. People have no idea that it is Lincoln, but they love it. It "looks like a BMW" is by far the most ... read more

Cons: Some small problems with electronics, gas consumption
The Bottom Line: Lincoln name, Lincoln Quality. European look, European handling. Ford Engine, Ford goodness.

I'd like to start this review by stating that I am a young driver, but a very good one. At least compared to the idiots here in Florida. I purchased my car from a used car auction here in Florida for $16,000. Seeing that it was the same price as a ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Superb handling and looks great
Cons: Trim problems and OEM tire issues
The Bottom Line: Buy it but look closely at the condition of the car.

I was ready to move up from the family sedan to a little more luxury. I couldn't afford a new BMW, Mercedes or other luxury vehicle but saw that I could comfortably purchase a good used sports sedan for around $25,000 to $30,000. After test driving ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: great handling, styling
Cons: tight in back seat, fairly tight in front for a large man

After owning the car for approximately one year, other items need adjusting and correction. Keep in mind that two recall notices have already been sent to owners the latest being a half day lost at the dealers for a ball joint problem on the front end. ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent performance, great seats, killer stereo system
Cons: None

I was in the market for an entry-level luxury car. My visit to the Mercedes dealer was pleasant until I attempted to trade in my 2-year old American car. Then it got ugly! I owed it to myself to visit my local Lincoln dealer. In less than 5 minutes ... read more

Nov 28, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: A near-BMW made by Lincoln
Cons: Still needs work in acceleration, manual tranny availability, and styling

Before I purchased my 1997 BMW 328i sport in September 99, I test drove several cars. The 2000 Lincoln LS V8 was one of them. Now that I've owned my BMW 328i for over a year, I have decided to write this comparison of both cars. INTERIOR ... read more

A great alternative for "must have American" buyers.

by
Aug 13, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: handling, performance(V-8), comfort, good looks (some colors only), affordability
Cons: poor resale value, dealer network, longevity is suspect, "its just a ford" image

The Lincoln LS is a new design for 2000. It is obviously aimed at the sports sedan market currently dominated by the BMW 5 series and the Lexus GS 300/400. While it falls off a bit from their lofty status, it is a well balanced, quality car, and if ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Handling, suspension, safety.
Cons: Little after-market support...

The sport package was well worth it! The only drawback I've found to this vehicle has been the lack of after-market items to pimp it out... I immediately popped new 20" Niche Bella rims on it and after much web searching I finally found and recently ... read more

In December 99 I purchased the lincoln LS for my wife's birthday. In my quest to find right car we test drove the BMW 528, the Lexus 300, the Mercedes 280 and last but not least the Jaguar S series. I would be less than honest if I didn't say I ... read more

Pros: Lexus, BMW, Benz move over.
Cons: No GPS
