Pros: Coo Car Cons: Not Top End Material
I decided to do yet another SUV review. This time I think I picked about the best. The Nissan Xterra has won various awards this year, include Motor Trend’s “2000 Sport/Utility of the Year” award. I don’t own this car, but I love riding my friends...

Pros: Aggressive exterior styling. Functional interior. Prime "tough image" choice. Cons: Bigger engine would be nice. A few design quirks. Primitive 4WD system. Dealers try to use popularity to their advantage (don't let 'em!).
The Nissan Xterra may be criticized by some as having no substance underneath its bulky, angular sheetmetal- but there are finer points to consider in this vehicle, recently voted Motor Trend's "SUV of the Year" for...

Pros: stylish, roomy, safe, quiet ride Cons: little power, handled OK
I decided to take a long look at this car(SUV) in my recent search for a quality new vehicle. I am a college student and the looks of the car certainly impressed me so I made up my mind to take a test drive at my local dealership this weekend. The...

Pros: Great looks, Superior performance, Pleasure to drive Cons: Fuel economy
This SUV looks great, no question. The distinctive roof rack, the no-chrome grill and bumper, the uniquely shaped windows, the running boards - they all contribute to perfect strangers approaching me in parking lots to rave about my Xterra. The...

Pros: Nice looking - very rugged and outdoors-y. Cons: everything else The Bottom Line: Only for people who care about the look, and nothing else.
I was one of the very first people to buy this car, in November of 1999. My experience with this car (having just traded it this week) ranks LAST in my automotive experiences (and I've owned about 20 cars in my 47 years).
This was the first...

Pros: Great handling, roomy storage space, comfortable seats and a sporty package Cons: Not recommended for a growing family. Can't open sun-roof when utility basket is attached The Bottom Line: While not plush, the Xterra offers a comfortable and sporty vehicle for the mother on the go with plenty of storage space. Too small for over 4 people.
Maybe I shouldn't be in this department, the world of automobiles and the people who really know the ins and outs of them. I consider my opinion, from my perspective as a Soccer-Mom-On-The-Go, a valuable one. I speak from experience, not expertise and...

Pros: Sporty, fun, durable, affordable in today's economy. Cons: I would like a little more trunk space when tray is in use.
Sometimes, you want to drive a car just for the fun of it. The feeling of exhilaration you get when you put away the mini van and park the sedan, then jump behind the wheel of a Sports Utility Vehicle that just makes you feel young, and free, and...

Pros: Attention-Grabbing Looks; Roomy; Nimble In Parking Lots; Compliant Ride On Bumps Cons: Underpowered; Scary On Freeways; Pricey With Options; Did I Say Underpowered Yet?
Today, we ventured out into the rain and visited the local Nissan dealership. The vehicle that instantly grabbed our attention out of a lot full of Altimas, Maximas and Sentras was a shocking yellow Xterra, which we took for a test drive.
The...

Pros: Great price, lots of features, car-like handling, large interior space, smooth manual transmission Cons: Underpowered engine, bad gas mileage, wind noise
I almost felt guilty buying an Xterra. Having seen Nissan's unapologetic "this-truck-will-turn-you-into-a-mountain-man" brochures and commercials, I felt like I was being a sucker for jumping onto what seems to be the latest bandwagon of...

Pros: Smoother ride, nice stereo, good cargo space, good 4wd system. Cons: Read the review!
The XJ, for those who don't know, is the body designation for the Cherokee, the vehicle the X-Terra seems to compete most directly with, and it's about time, as the Cherokee hasn't had any real competition for many many years now.
When the...

Pros: looks neat, solid ride and workmanship Cons: Unattractive wheels
I bought an SUV because I needed the cargo space. They're also very hip, you know. Was I hypnotized by those slick Nissan ads using fairly-hip modern rock tunes? It couldn't have hurt. I choose the Nissan Xterra for it's sporty yet understated looks...

Pros: Looks awesome, feels great. I can't find the underpowered engine and quirks that others describe Cons: Mileage maybe? I can't really complain... it's an SUV for crying out loud! The Bottom Line: I would, without hesitation, recommend this vehicle to anyone who is looking at purchasing a mid-sized SUV. It's fun to drive, and definitely great to look at.
The first time I saw an ad on television for the 2000 Xterra, I thought to myself, "Wow... you gotta love that truck..."
That television ad got me so hyped I could literally feel myself blasting through the forest, streaking down...

Pros: Cheaper than other suv's its size Cons: Hard to find...demand is very high!
The Nissan Xterra was recently voted moter trend suv of the year. There has to be some good reasons for that!

Pros: Sexy exterior, reasonable size Cons: first model year, some control issues The Bottom Line: It's pretty, just a bit high maintenance. Wait a few years for them to fix some of the minor flaws.
I have to admit right away that I bought the XTerra entirely for its looks and my ego. It's a really cool looking truck. I wish I had waited for a few reasons.
The biggest was the price. I got destroyed by the dealer because he knew I wanted...
