by
Nov 24, 2002 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Ride Comfort and off-road ability
Cons: Reliability
The Bottom Line: Be careful. Read up on Toyota's Technical Bulletins before buying the latest models. Sometime too much gadgetry/electronics affect vehicle's reliability.

I must say that when my TLC rides it is the best vehicle I had owned. Comfort, Safety, Capacity and Off-Road ability come to mind. Unfortunately, I must also add that this time I am quite disappointed with the reliability of this "top of the line" ... read more

Pros: A powerhouse of an SUV; Good for off-road driving
Cons: Expensive and gaz guzzler
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for reliability, luxury and comfort, don't go any further. The 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser Is Awesome.

The Ford vehicles of the 1940s, 1950s are still shining and going strong on Calle Malecon. Even though the spare parts are nonexistent to maintain, most Cubans become creative and deal with their own repair. It appears that most of them are mechanics. ... read more

About 10 months ago we purchased a 2000 Land Cruiser. It's a great car to take to the Country Club and show off to your friends, but after a little while we were spending more time in a rental Toyota compact than our own SUV. I'll come back to that point ... read more

I've done my fair share of off-road racing of stock (out of showroom) SUV's. For the last 3 years I had raced a stock 4.0 Range Rover and most recently have moved into a Landcruiser. I do not recommend that most people take their $ 60,000 luxury SUV into ... read more

This opinion is appearing under the 2000 TLC because there is not a category for the 2001. I purchased a 2001 TLC about three weeks ago after considering it and the 2001 Sequoia. This review focuses on the basis of my decision to purchase the ... read more
