Pros: Public at large equates the name Toyota with high quality, equalling high trade value Cons: Of my experience with manufacturer's honesty - five different companies - Toyota is the worst. The Bottom Line: Product is only average and does not live up to expected reputation. Manufacturer is disappointing in their response to problems.
I am the original owner of a 2000 SR5 Extended Cab V-8 with 106K miles, and while it has not been as bad as others I've read about - especially the transmissions going out - it probably is my last Toyota. And it's worth noting that my first ever new car ...

Pros: V8 power, quiet, great handling, comfortable front seats Cons: Rear seat back is too vertical for comfort on longer rides. The Bottom Line: Buy a Tundra! New or used it doesn't matter as my truck still rides like new even after 87,000 miles.
The Toyota Tundra far outclasses Ford, GM, and Dodge. The quality and looks of this truck is what I was looking for when I bought it. From the moment they came out in 1999/2000 I knew that if I were to buy a truck then that would be it. I always owned ...

Pros: Comfortable! Reliable! Fast enough! Best in class off-road. Cons: MPH not the greatest, but it is not a corolla either. The Bottom Line: The best in class! Best all around performer!
I waited for 5 years to review this truck. I have had this truck since it had 15,000 miles. My brother owned it before that. I needed a truck that could haul farm supplies and animal feeds. My D90 did not work well in the farm truck role without ...

Pros: Great Truck...runs like a top, quiet, solid, fun. Cons: keeps OPEC in business The Bottom Line: If you want a truck you can't go wrong with a Tundra. Toyota quality, full sized fun.
I've had the truck for about 3 years now. I only have about 32K on the truck but it hasn't had one issue to date.
I love my truck! I was a life long ford guy at 29 (my dad has only had ford trucks since 77' and my grandfather was a ford...

Pros: It's a Toyota!, 32valve V8, reliable, higher in stock from that GM,Ford, and Dodge. Cons: Not cheap, brakes could be better. The Bottom Line: Why settle for less? Spend the money for a Toyota and get what you really want. Very nice truck and recommended.
I really needed a 2nd car as my GS400 is currently kicking out 470hp and I place sometimes 200 miles a day on a vehicle. This plus the fact that every homeowner needs a truck for those Home Depot runs. It is sometimes difficult relying on a friend's ...

Pros: V8 power, crisp trans shifting, tight chassis. Cons: 3 bad oxygen sensors in 80k miles = $604.47 in repairs, paint, rotors are not durable. The Bottom Line: Good reliable truck with plenty of power. O2 sensor issue is only real mechanical blemish.
I have owned my Tundra since being purchased brand new by myself in February of 2000. I have the 2wd, v8 , automatic,Sr5 access cab, 17" factory rims, factory bedliner, cloth interior. I have over 82k miles on my truck now. I love the power of the v8 . ...

Pros: Lots of Power, Great Handling (esp for a truck) Cons: Doors won't stay open, Not as Roomy as GM trucks The Bottom Line: Good Truck. Cab Small. Great Suspension, good traction, Nice creature comforts. DOORS SUCK, won't stay open, difficult to load up family. A few repair issues inconsistent w/Toyota Reputation.
I originally bought my 2000 Tundra brand new. I definitely like the truck overall, but there are some things that I didnt like:
1. The doors didn't have the hinges that will stay open once you reach a certain point. This was THE most annoying...

Powerful Cons: minor details-nothing you can't live with The Bottom Line: The best quality, comfort, and safety $25,000 can buy.
My family purchased a 2000 Toyota Tundra in November of 1999. For one of the first off the line there was very little wrong with it. Ours came very basic-2WD, bucket seats, premium wheels. We after-market added the towing hitch and the bed liner....

Pros: Comfort, style, tight fit no rattles or squeaks. Cons: Horrible 12.5 to 14 MPG for being 90% full size.Slow zero to 30. The Bottom Line: Nice to drive, nice size for homeowner use.Have heard of 16 MPG never got better than 14, average 13.Not a great towing truck.
Great styling. Very tight handling, and a quiet ride.Tends to be sluggish from zero to 30 MPH but from there to 70 MPH its a rocket.Really does not pull a heavy trailer well, feels like you are getting pushed around. The paint finish is very good but the...

Pros: Power, reliability, ride, comfort, safety. Cons: A little rough at the gas pump! The Bottom Line: The Toyota Tundra is the wise choice for anyone in need of a full size truck and wants a vehicle that will last with little trouble.
I recently purchased a used Tundra. It was the SR5 version with the 4.7 V8. The truck was everything I had read about. From the first time I drove it I realized the reason there is a difference in the price compared to the domestic version of full size...

Jan 2004 - This is an update to the original review of my 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 SR5 Plus Cab. I was pretty frustrated when I reported the vibration troubles in my initial review. Well, since then, I've learned that about 98% of that problem was ...

After one failed attempt at building a full-size truck (the T100), Toyota finally did it right - The Tundra.

Pros: Great Power, Nice Package, Very quiet, Smooth Ride Cons: Cost, Backseat Space, Driver Visibility The Bottom Line: If driving a truck to you means stiff suspension, poor handling, considerable lean, and sluggish power, the Tundra is not for you.
This is not a truck, it's a dream. I test drove a Tundra when I was looking at the Highlander a few months back (review to come). After emerging disappointed from that mini-suv, I told the salesman I wanted something large enough for four with good...
