Pros: Reliability, fuel economy, practicality, cargo room, soft ride Cons: Leather interior, somewhat noisy on the highway The Bottom Line: Great family vehicle for family of four, would only get 2.5 non-turbo engine
I purchased this car used from a dealer back in fall of 2007. A lot of hours of research went into this purchase, as this was to be my wife’s daily driver, and since we have 2 kids, the car had to be spacious enough, practical, reliable, ...

Pros: Stylish, sporty, and handles bad weather very nicely Cons: fit/finish lower than expected, some mech issues, paint chips easliy The Bottom Line: My experience has been less than you would expect for the money, dealership headaches high.
In June, 2000, I wrote a review on the new Volvo V70 wagon that we purchased. This review, while more tempered toward a middling score than the first one, does not replace my view previously given. Consider this an update of that review, with another...

Pros: some safe features, and some good ones Cons: These outweigh the pros; faulty electrical system, safety sometimes, expensive for what you get
This review is not about the Volvo V70 2001 model, but rather of the '97 model
I am lucky enough not to own this car, however, my mother and a friend's mother both own the car. The problems that my mother has had with her car have been so...

Pros: great looks, durability, performance and value Cons: high price
Let me say it from the outset: I love Volvo station wagons. This is my third Volvo wagon, but my first new car ever, of any sort.
My husband Bob and I bought our 2000 V70 in August 2000. We didn't intend to buy a car just then. We'd attended...

Pros: Safety, Handling, Room, Appearance Cons: none
The old image in my mind of laughing when ugly beaten up volvos(the only kind I used to see) passed by, was erased when I laid eyes on the V70. This is a car for everyone whether it be a soccer mom wanting room for his son's equipment and one of the...

Pros: Volvo's safety record; built-in booster seats Cons: It's a wagon -- no trunk
Pregnant with our third child, I was depressed at the thought of driving a minivan. But with our other two kids still in car seats, we definitely needed something bigger than our Honda Civic. So we visited our local minivan dealers -- again and again and...

Pros: interior, smoothness, Cons: price!
The Volvo V-70 XCAWD is a very, very nice car, but for 39,000 bucks, it aint soo nice. The car has some pluses though, the four wheel drive system is very advanced and the car drives very smoothly. The interior is plush, it's like a benz, but a volvo....

This is an amazing car. Seating 8, it is perfect for your whole family. One of the safest cars around, you should feel no qualms about going for a family ride in it. Not only is the volvo safe, but it looks...

Pros: Utility, Comfort, Ride, Fuel Economy Cons: Price, Some Features
My wife and I loved her 1997 Toyota 4Runner. We liked having a vehicle that could haul the family around and still carry things back from Home Depot. The truck was a blast. Unfortunately, it sat high off the ground (hard to get in), and drank fuel....

In a previous epinion, I had said the my wife and I had decided on the Chevy Impala to replace our old car. That went out the windows after we drove the 2000 Volvo V70 wagon.
First, let me say that I have never owned a Volvo, or any other...

Pros: reliable, safe Cons: not a sports car
Our family bought a Volvo station wagon (im not exactly sure on the model) back in 1987. It was your basic, royal blue, family automobile. Back then it went for 25-30K, now I'm sure its much more expensive. But if todays Volvos are anything like the...

Pros: Quick, agile, able to carry the kids pets and all the luggage Cons: likely to encourage unlawful velocity
I aspire to this vehicle. I test drove it the other day, preparing for what's next in the family vehicle category.
I drove the V70 XC (R I think).
Holy Smokes! Talk about everything you could want in a car. Fast Fast Fast! off the...

Pros: Obvious ones - safety, safety, safety -- everything from collapsing headrests to side airbags. Less than obvious ones - comfortable seats, solid feel, from interior components to manueverability, and easy-to-read instruments. Cons: Air noise across the windshield above 60 mph, easily bumped control handle of windshield wipers (I keep hitting it with my right hand when I don't want them on), and outside mirrors not connected to the seat position memory.
Overall, for the first few weeks, we think the Cross Country All Wheel Drive model is great. This is our first Volvo. We traded in a Jeep Grand Cherokee (1994 with 77,000). My wife wanted a smaller vehicle but we didn't want to give up all the benefits...
