Pros: Smooth ride, powerful, accessories Cons: Cabin noise, quality, customer service The Bottom Line: My particular car had some problems and Acura's customer service was surprisingly bad. Cabin noise above 50 mph is unacceptable. Smooth and powerful but the handling is very heavy.
Pros:
1. Smooth, powerful ride.
2. Navigation system is quite useful.
3. 6 in-dash CD changer.
Cons
1. Cabin noise above 50 MPH is poor.
2. New model.
3. Waiting time to order vehicle.

Pros: Very roomy, rides very smoothly. Nice gas mileage for an SUV. Great sound system. Cons: General Quality. Engine is good, but transmission can be a little quirky at times. The Bottom Line: Buy a Lexus, much better quality, comparable price
I bought mine gently used, as we do all of our cars. Was driving the Lexus RX300 but wanted something with a 3rd seat for hauling extra passengers. Wrongly determining quality was the same as the Toyota/Lexus, we settled on the Acura. While all in all ...

Pros: Large interior Cons: four-wheel drive. Not too easy to handle The Bottom Line: Wait till a year or two, before buying this car. There is still room for improvements
This is one of the many cars that I have rented. I love cars and I enjoy trying out new cars. The brand new 2001 Acura MDX is a great car in general, however, I don't really like it. Maybe it is because I am not used to dring SUVs or maybe the...

Pros: Good power, Sporty (by SUV standards) handling and ride control Cons: Noise-Vibration-Harshness, Bad fake wood, cheap dashboard plastics The Bottom Line: A very good $28,000 car trying to pass as a $38,000 luxury SUV.
I have been attracted to the Acura MDX ever since I first heard about it. It claims to offer everything my family wants/needs in a family car...reliability, luxury, value, performance, style, and 7 passenger seating.
Now that I have driven it,...

Pros: Great looks and design, powerful 240hp engine, reasonable "WOW" factor (for now) Cons: Some design enhancements needed, add-on almost required, difficult to find The Bottom Line: Don't get me wrong, the Acura MDX is a good SUV. However, I will at least wait until next year before getting one.
I am fortunate to be able to drive the new 2001 Acura MDX. This is Acura’s first SUV in the US, and they want to do a good job with it.
My father has purchased this vehicle and likes it. Personally, I wouldn’t have bought it. Since there are...

Pros: Three rows of seats, cargo space, versatility, lots of stuff for the price Cons: Fake wood everywhere, performance and luxury though OK are less than promised
The Bottom Line: With three rows of seats, the MDX offers a lot of vehicle for the price. Just don't expect it to match the Lexus in luxury or the BMW in performance.
You might be forgiven for not knowing what the MDX is, since MDX isn't a very descriptive name. It seems MDX is Acura-speak for SUV. Specifically, an SUV that can take you wherever you want to go (if the ads and brochure imagery are to be believed)yet ...

Pros: Good power and handling, lots of room, above average quality control. Cons: uneven interior appointments, some ergonomics, determining corners of vehicle when parking, waiting for delivery The Bottom Line: A fine vehicle when a nice luxury sedan is not quite enough to fit all the things you need to load in for a family, or a long trip.
I have reviewed this vehicle because I have been shopping for an SUV. I was hesitant to write anything, until I noticed at least half the reviewers do not even own this vehicle!
So I decided to jump in and join the fray.
I was also...

Pros: Great features and performance Cons: It's not a V8, no disappointment! The Bottom Line: If you want performance and great handling from your new SUV, go with 2001 Acura MDX. It's a minivan of a truck!
2001 Acura MDX is a great vehicle for the family since it can seat 7 passenger. Equipped with VTEC V6 engine, this 5-speed SUV showed proof of its worth a few days ago. I test drove it so you don't have to. I found out that it provides great...

Pros: Interior design, power, very intuitive nav Cons: wind noise, gas mileage, expensive/ugly accessories The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the MDX for families that mainly need to carry people and occasionally drive in bad weather.
My family bought the MDX with Navi and Touring packages in the April of 2000. It was intended for long road trips, carrying up to 7 people and luggage, and occasionally venturing out to Tahoe for some fun in the snow. So far, it has done so in typical ...

Pros: Good handling for an SUV, good looks, standard package has everything. Cons: Another damn suv. The Bottom Line: I can't dance:(
Speed demon's intensifying visage blurs in your rear view mirror, as your heart's yen for teen spirit beats a tattoo in your chest. My advice to you, if you are driving one of the 50 SUV's that are in the market today, is to hold your damn horses. ...

Pros: roomy, powerful, good looking, great value, environmentally friendly Cons: nothing significant The Bottom Line: It's a great vehicle for the price. It's comfortable, roomy, rides great, and is environmentally friendly.
After owning the sporty BMW 328 for a little over a year, the boyfriend and I (OK, mostly just the boyfriend) decided that it was time for a change. A big change! That change was to come in the form of the Acura MDX. After having the car for about two...

Pros: Handled awful driving conditions with power, confidence and safety; a joy to drive Cons: Quirky CD player eats discs, mirrors whistle The Bottom Line: Handles the worst roads with comfort, safety and confidence. Best sound system going, just don't feed it thick CDs. No problems after a solid year of driving; it's all good!
I had a Mazda Tribute and was very happy with it; great price, superb handling, thrilling power/weight ratio, even at highway speeds still lots of acceleration tucked away ready for passing.
But...I carry more than five people sometimes and...

Pros: Great value. Sleek look. Innovative 4wd design. Everything is standard. Cons: 1st year model. Dealer markups. The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for an SUV and wants something that drives like a car, this is the one for you.
We bought our MDX on November of 2000 when it first came out. It was very hard to find a dealership that is willing to sell it to you at MSRP. We basically paid about $1500 over MSRP but we got to choose the color we wanted and the accessories we...

Pros: Lots of space, power, utility, and comfort Cons: no history, below-average braking, cabin noise The Bottom Line: A great all-around SUV for people who have young families or who otherwise need to haul lots of stuff. Top-rated by Car and Driver and Motor Trend magazines.
We originally put down a deposit on the MDX, but later switched to the BMW X5. There's much to recommend the MDX, and we continue to believe that it will be an ideal SUV for many people.
There’s no such thing as the perfect vehicle to meet...
