Pros: Power (333 hp), 6-speed transmission, handling, looks and practicality. Cons: None (but if I had to improve anything), fuel economy, spare tire The Bottom Line: Drive one for yourself and see why this is the Ultimate, Ultimate Driving Machine.
I just took ownership of a jet black on black 2001 BMW M3 a few days ago and wanted to share my experience. I'm thrilled at the opportunity to finally own my dream car, and I have not been disappointed. After having owned a 1998 (E36 previous ...

Pros: Nice Styling, Open Motoring, Excellent Options, Plenty of Room. Cons: Very heavy, poor cornering, unsporty seats, notchy shifting, slow roof The Bottom Line: A sporty cabriolet, better made for those of us who have never driven a Porsche and thus do not understand what a sports car is!
After selling my Porsche for more room and loving the styling of the M3, I have driving the car for four months and will be selling it as I just ordered another Porsche.
Unfortunately, I bought the car without a test drive, as it was not at...

Pros: bump from 240hp to 333!, smooth gearbox, harmonious exhaust note, agile and fast Cons: none The Bottom Line: Best sports coupe to buy for under $60,000. Best handling, performance and handling in its category.
The new M3,one of the biggest news to hit in automotive history due to its craftsmanship and performance breakthrough of 111 horsepower per liter for a natural aspirated vehicle. It gets the best of both worlds, luxury and performance. It can hang with...

Pros: Excellent Vehicle! Best and least expensive in its class! Cons: Not quite as sleek-looking as the Porsche 911, but it costs $25,000 less, so c'mon. The Bottom Line: GET THIS CAR!!! It is, by far, the best value in its class. If value doesn't matter to you, get it cuz it's SWEEEET!!
Yesterday, I test-drove 3 German sports coupes: the Porsche 911 Carrera, the Mercedes CLK 430, and the BMW M3. All were hardtops, all were from the 2001 model year. In this review, I will give you a detailed synopsis of how I came to the conclusion...

Pros: Incredibly responsive engine, power, handling, aural satisfaction Cons: Stiff ride on poor pavement, weak basic sound system The Bottom Line: You can not buy a better 50,000 'race car'. Generations ahead of the Z06. If you can get your hands on one-buy it!
This is the most satisfying car I have ever driven. No other car can stir your emotions like this car. The sounds of the engine, the thrust of the accelerator, and the unbelievable handling. The minute you step on the accelerator pedal the car jumps...

Pros: Good power, very comfortable, smooth ride Cons: Old design, can have better handling The Bottom Line: Smooth, quite, comfortable what else would you want? This car has it all.Even elegance.
BMW,everything you would expect. Good handling, but the handling can be better. Tends to drift when pushed hard. Have to know a little to push the car. The looks are starting to get old. Time for BMW to come up with something new for the M3. The engine...

The moment you close the door on the E46 M3, you hear the quality of the build. With a solid sound - the door closes and clicks into place. The E46 M3 has some nice features. The first is the engine: a 333-horsepower inline 6 cylinder with 6 throttle bodies and four valves per cylinder. The second is the variable valve train that give extra boost of power at high and low ends of the tach. The third is the throttle by wire - in which the computer controls the fuel injectors dynamically (the gas pedal is simply a potentiometer).
While the engine is a masterpiece, the handling is superb. Stock - the car comes with either 19 or 18 inch BMW rims and staggered tires. Also stock is a front strut brace. This car looks and feels like a high performance German night fighter.
Optional is the 6 speed transmission or Sequential Manual Gearbox.
