Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Wicked-fast, nice looking, reasonable price.
Cons: Weak stereo, oil consumption, poor service.
The Bottom Line: Very nice-looking, faster than should be on road - but warranty/service was disappointing/frustrating.

I'm not going to re-hash all the specs, but instead I'll list my personal experiences having owned this car for the past year... I bought this car used, with 19k miles on it. It's a triple-black 2001 Camaro SS convertible. Speed: First & ... read more

Last Chance for a Classic

by
Mar 25, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: American Icon, Sleek, Fast, Car Lovers Dream
Cons: "Feed me, Seymour!" - Not the best gas mileage, hard not to drive fast!
The Bottom Line: A great car at an affordable price. Lots of bang for your buck and easily "souped up" if you desire more than the 300+ hp!

A year ago I decided to buy a sports car, and after a few months of research and looking, I decided on an F-body (which includes Chevy Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds). I bought a white 1999 Z-28 Camaro and I've loved it ever since. It is sleek, stylish ... read more

Tracy's Review

Nov 29, 2001 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Looks good, nice colors, a lot of after market things can be done
Cons: rear wheel drive so not real good in bad weather, small interior room
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone that wants a good looking, nice riding sports car. I would not recommend having adults in the back seat for a long ride.

I have a 01 myself and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It has just the right amount of power, it looks good, and you don't go broke buying one. The insurance is a little bit high, but isn't all that bad. They also come in a good choice of colors ... read more

Pros: POWERFUL AND GOOD LOOKING, A TRUE MUSCLE CAR
Cons: ROUGH SUSPENSION, BAD A/C, HIGH INSURANCE
The Bottom Line: CAMARO IS A GOOD 1/4 MILE CAR, MADE ONLY FOR STRAIGHT AWAYS. ANYTHING ELSE, FORGETABOUTIT!!!

Pros: Power,control,responsive,price
Cons: It doesn't come with a stop chute, because it needs one.
The Bottom Line: What are you waiting for, go buy it now!!!!!!!!

As if the 2000 Camaro wasn't enough fun, Chevy just had to go and release the 2001 SS. This 325 HP is the best bang for the buck in its class, and also looks super cool with the T-Tops option. It handles great on straights and turns. One thing that I ... read more

Pros: Great styling and performance for a price that won't bankrupt you
Cons: High insurance and depreciation rates
The Bottom Line: If you want a true American sports car capable of beating any comparably priced car on the road the Camaro SS is king.

This may be the last production year of the Camaro and the folks at Chevy went all out to make sure this car will go out with a bang. The Camaro comes in several flavors, a 200 horse power V6 base model, the 315 horse power Z28.And if the stock Z28 isn't ... read more

Apr 22, 2001 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Scary Fast, A lot of aftermarket upgrades, Low price, mileage, Great sound system, Hatchback utility.
Cons: So So interior, Wide plastic body panel gaps, Boy racer image.
The Bottom Line: This car offers amazing performance and many unique attributes for a $20,000 car

I love fast cars. The Camaro Z-28 is the most affordable way to have a blast with a new car. When you have about $20,000 to spend you have hundreds of cars to pick from, but how many of them give you something special? With the Camaro Z-28 you get a ... read more

Pros: Cheap sticker, beautiful engine, TRUE muscle car power and torque.
Cons: Rear suspension axle hop. Cheap plastic interior bits.
The Bottom Line: If you want the power and can live with the questionable interior, this is your car.

The Canadian built Camaro is an American icon of the past, present, and (HOPEFULLY) future. This car has one of the strongest followings of any car on the road, and for good reason. This particular model year is as smooth as these cars will ever ... read more

The Camaro SS or Z28 is one of the ebst sports cars out there. The Camaro Z28 has 305 HP but with the special SS hood, it's boosted up to 320 HP. This car is great for people who want to make modifications to it. However, it is not as good to drive it ... read more

Pros: The new Chevy Camaro is a blast to drive with superior performance and handling
Cons: The price is the only thing that would keep anyone i believe from having one unless you drive a mustang or you are a ford person :-)

Chevrolet has a great theme that goes with all its muscle cars. One of those themes is speed, and acceleration. A car that carries this theme is the 2001 Camaro Z28. With 310 factory horsepower this car can stump a mud whole in most other cars. ... read more
