Pros: Comes with almost everything, good price, sporty look, powerful and fun to drive. Cons: Standard window tint is not sufficiently dark enough. The Bottom Line: I recommend this car to anyone who wants a sporty car at a price that has most of the options you would want and is a safe car
I'm in the Military stationed in Misawa, Japan for the past 2 years. My wife Jennifer has been with me but has recently decided to go back to finish school in St Louis. Over the course of time we spent in Misawa, we learned about the Exchange New Car...

Pros: Cold Air, Reasonably quiet ride Cons: Steering, bulky exterior The Bottom Line: Overall, a good value that I would consider buying, marred by only minor details.
Needing a rental car for a few days, I searched around to fine something that would be reasonable and economical. The choices in the price range came down to selecting from Hertz and Avis. Hertz would rent a Hyundai for the same amount that I paid to...

Pros: good air conditioning. Moderately comfy. Got me where I was going. Cons: just about everything else about it.... The Bottom Line: Avoid it - it's a noisy, rattletrappy little pest of a car, jumpy and slow to respond. And the model I drove didn't even have a tape player!
I'll admit it, right up front: I'm not much of an expert on cars. I came to driving late in life, not even getting a license till I was 37 or so, and until my recent purchase of a new VW Beetle, mostly all I've owned has been ancient rusty Toyotas, with...

Pros: Has features found on more expensive cars. Engine has good torque. Cons: Wish I had gotten the cruise control. The Bottom Line: For the price, the Cavalier line is hard to beat. A lot of people seem to agree because a lot of people are driving them!
My wife and I bought the two door 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier after her older Cavalier died. (She practically ran it to death!). We decided before hand that we both liked the Chevrolet Cavalier line, and that we would probably look into getting another one....

Pros: Comfy interior, cold air, nimble handling Cons: Engine on the weak side, transmission hunts on hills The Bottom Line: It's a good little car for someone just starting out.
They say necessity is the mother of invention. I'm not entirely sure what that quote has to do with this review, but I guess it sounded appropriate when I wrote it. Well, actually maybe it DOES have something to do with this. You see, the payments on...

Pros: Good gas mileage, affordable as a rental! Easy to drive. Cons: Uh, er, where do I start... poor handling, weak suspension, cheaply made sloped seating, etc... The Bottom Line: OK for rental or cash purchase as second/ temporary car. Must be carefully driven in winter. Not recommended for teenage drivers!
I drove my fathers 2001 Cavalier Sedan and rented the model for an extended time. I was immediatly dissappointed with the lack of quality in this vehicle. While new it did have a fairly good ride, but this car does not hold up over the long haul. Having ...

Pros: Roomy for class, Cheap to own and operate, Nice Styling, Comfortable Cons: Noisy, Slow off the line, Build quality is poor for class The Bottom Line: If you like the styling or the GM incentives this is your car. But look at the Saturn, Honda, Toyota and VW options before you buy.
Recently had a major service in my car and the dealer gave me a Chevrolet Cavalier to drive for a week. Here are my thoughts...
This is a nice car for the money. It is roomy, looks good, is comfortable and has a fair amount of features. You...

Intro My dad bought the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier in 2001 (surprising, huh?). When we first bought it, it seemed like a pretty good car. But after 50,000 miles, it definitely doesn't feel that way anymore. Engine The Chevrolet Cavalier ...

Pros: Price Cons: too many for the 15 word minimum The Bottom Line: Final recommendation: Do your research and find out what bulletins are against the transmission, if the car has any recalls, etc... You might luck out and not get a lemon.
I had always liked the way the Cavalier looked. The only thing I don't like is the side moldings on the doors(for protection). I found that they had recently started looking darker than the rest of the body. It also seems that no matter how many pressure ...

Pros: Cold AC,Smooth Ride, looks sort of sporty/classy for such a cheap price Cons: Uncomfy seats, squeeky The Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend a used 2001, opt for a new one... but make sure its a Chevy. :-)
Exterior: It looks nice in white with black trim. The breakaway mirrors are nice to have. The front bumper shattered in below freezing weather, so beware not to bump into anything. The tires look a little small compared to the overall balance of the...

Pros: All Interior, reliable engine Cons: 2.2 engine (in my vehical), not the greatest acceleration, don't really like exterior looks The Bottom Line: Overall great car, I would recommend mostly to people that need to be on a tight budget with good gas milage (40mpg highway) and inexpensive car.
I got my 2001 cavalier about a year ago. Overall it runs good and is very reliable but you get what you pay for. I have the base model and cruise control and tilt-wheel. When I got it, it didn't contain power door locks which was a pain with a sedan. ...

Pros: Good looks, great gas mileage, excellent sound system, sporty 5-speed Cons: Engine noise and whine, rattles and squeaks, uncomfortable seats The Bottom Line: The Cavalier offers plenty of power for its class, great gas mileage in the manual transmission and a nice size trunk. Great commuter or first car.
In December of 2000, I purchased a brand new Cavalier. I decided to go with the Cavalier because of the rebate and the good gas mileage since I drive 42 miles each way to work and every couple of months drive 600 miles round trip to my home state. I...

Pros: Air conditioning, handling, short trip comfort Cons: long trip comfort, using 87-octane causes knocking The Bottom Line: As long as you do not want to go on a road trip this is a great car.
