Pros: very quick, cheap insurance, loads of room, reliable (quite the work horse!) Cons: parts hard to find, diagnostics have to be done by dealer rather than local garage The Bottom Line: Given the choice i'd have an aston martin, but a daewoo lanos gets you from A to B just as good!
Well a little over three years ago i was a learner driver driving around in a 1.1l M reg ford fiesta, bit of an old shed if i'm honest! Due to a move to a house with an awkward drive my mother decided that there was no way that she was gonna drive her ... read more

Cons: Weak AM/FM radio The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap and efficient car.
I bought the 2001 Daewoo Lanos used in 2004 and I feel like I got a great deal. I was looking for a small, fuel efficient and easy to maintain car for my lengthy commute to work. I was initially looking at the Civic, Tercel or Mazda 3 - but they all we a ... read more

Pros: Reliable, fun to drive, affordable, good mileage Cons: Hey, you get what you pay for The Bottom Line: Great for someone who's on a budget and needs a dependable vehicle. Not for someone wants anything fancy. This is a BASIC car.
I recently sold my big family van. I then started my search for a little used car from which I expected some amount of reliability for the money I intended to spend, as well as good gas mileage. (How refreshing that would be after the van...) I was on ... read more

I just go this 3 door Lanos S in 01/03. 50% discount on remaining inventory is tough to pass up. 2000 miles later I am still happy with my purchase. No problems, great gas mileage (35 mpg average). Not the fastest thing off the lights, but have ... read more

Pros: Cheap, comfortable, good trunk space Cons: Fragile, not a good value for its class, the radio security is annoying The Bottom Line: If you want a fragile, fuel efficient car for around $10,000 like this, go with the Hyundai Accent. You'll get more for less money.
A Word About This Type of Car Let me first start off by telling you that I am biased with regards to cars. I got in an accident in my Subaru Forester in August of 2001 and after that I have trouble endorsing cars that I probably would have died ... read more

Pros: Good car for the price. Roomy trunk. Smooth ride. Cons: Cupholder in a bad place. Defroster not very effective. The Bottom Line: I would recommend it to anyone who is a commuter, good car for tight parking. Nice size for taking the kids to school and grocery shopping.
Back in August, I purchased a brand new 2001 Daewoo Lanos. It is a 2 door hatchback. It's been a few months now, and I don't have any major complaints.
I'm not saying the car is perfect, but I think it is a good car for the price. Altogether, ... read more

Pros: Cheap sticker price, good on gas,Thats about all you get. Cons: Cup holders, poor quality seats,no clock on radio, poor gas mileage(if pushed) The Bottom Line: If you have no choice or limited choices then go ahead but if you have good credit or lots of cash then avoid this one.
I bought this car in October of 2001 and i really had no choice because my 1990 Acura Integra RS was at 179,000 miles and had many problems and it was either trade it or be stuck with a dead car. So when the car salesman was looking at my 90 Acura ... read more

Pros: Excellent design, great gas mileage, fairly roomy. Cons: Had 7 months - so far the cup holders are the only complaint. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an affordable car that will get you from point A to point B, I recommend to keep Daewoos as one of your options.
As I started looking for a new car, my options were Honda Civic, Volkswagen Golf or Volkswagen Jetta. Because I am in college I need a small size car to be able to squeeze it anywhere there is a tiny gap. The Jetta was too big, while the Golf could work. ... read more

Pros: Very cheap, great warranty, good gas milage, roomy, lots of trunk space Cons: No "oomph", poor seats & controls The Bottom Line: This car is great if you are on a budget and won't spend thousands on flashy features. If you like a Hondas this is a great alternative.
I bought a fully loaded sedan (4d) new while on the market for a used Honda. I had really wanted to buy a Honda, but when it came down to price and I realized I was going to buy a Honda with lots of miles for the same price, I figured I'd go with the ... read more

Pros: Nice styling, smooth ride, intuitive controls, pretty spacious for its size. Cons: Awkward steering, flimsy cupholder, acceleration is mediocre. The Bottom Line: It's an ok car, but I'd save up a little more for Honda or Toyota.
I rented the fully loaded sedan for a couple days. My biggest complaint by far was the steering and steering wheel. The power steering at times felt somewhat removed, like driving in an old video game. I like to be able to feel the road at least a ... read more
