Pros: Beautiful interior/exterior. Great for traveling or hauling things. Cons: Terrible gas mileage, clunky on the road, difficult to park at times The Bottom Line: I don't recommend this vehicle unless you have a large family, alot of pets or you are pulling something large! It is too big.
There it was, this huge vehicle sat in my driveway and I just stood and stared.
My husband has often talked of getting an Excursion, but we already have a 2000 Expedition so why would we need another SUV? Well.........for some reason we...

Pros: If you own one, you love it. I love it! Cons: If you don't own it, you hate it...especially if you drive a compact. The Bottom Line: Great vehicle unless you're intimidated by it's size.
I read through the opinions posted and it seems like the owners of the Excursions love them. Whereas, people who don't own one think they should be banned from the road.
First off, I believe you shouldn't be writing an opinion on something you...

Pros: Biggest damn thing on the road Cons: Biggest damn thing on the road The Bottom Line: save the money
This truck, by far, is the biggest truck on the road, minus Semis and buses. So big that the EPA doesn't have much regs for it to meet. With the V-8, the truck is way too sluggish. I feel that this truck is evidence of America's idea to make everything...

Pros: ROOMY, big, why don't you just read the opinion? Cons: gas mileage The Bottom Line: This SUV is so comfortable, I could live in it!
This is what I call a BIG SUV. WOW! It's huge! I like it a lot!
Engine - The Excursion has three engine choices:
1. A Triton 5.4L 8 cylinder 260 hp gas engine. This engine is the lowest in power, but it does the trick. I think that...

Pros: Cadillac interior ( space and feel ), turns heads, just cool! Cons: You have a constant stench of "truck".
But nothing else. The Bottom Line: Once again, I would recommend it fully to anyone who can afford it. But it is still a little boxy - but nice!
It's the perfect car for every young, single, rich, soccer-mom; isn't it ? That's my theory. And my theory still seems to be proving itself . When the Excursion came out, I thought that it was basically another Suburban...until my cousins bought one....

Pros: diesel, large cargo room, Tow 10,000 pounds Cons: noise from diesel (not bad but you can hear it) The Bottom Line: The Excursion is a great for people how need a large vehicle for moving people, towing heavy loads, or needing large cargo area.
First of all I’m not a person who’s loyal to one manufacturer. I’ve own a Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and a Ford. I think every manufacturer creates good cars and bad cars, none of them are perfect. I don’t buy cars based on the manufacturer but...

Pros: Big, powerful, beefy, and lots of appointments. Cons: Expensive, but who cares?! The Bottom Line: Go for the gusto!
Riding on top of the world... that's the feeling you get from any seat in the new Ford Excursion. Just looking at this behemoth sitting in a lot you think "wow... that's big". If you've been driving another SUV like I have for many years... in my...

Pros: Great family and luxury vehicle Cons: gas consumption
Despite the recent reports of falty tires and other Firestone issues related to the Ford Explorer, I still think that for the price it is a great luxury sports utility vehcle. I have owned a Ford Explorer since my days in college. Rather than switching...

Pros: SAFE. Large cargo area. Good mileage for size. Pulls a heavy trailer. Cons: Cumbersome to park. The Bottom Line: Good value for $, does everything it's designed to do. Holds value well.
I'm a small car fan, and have been for years. However, when I had kids, I began to worry about all the SUVs out there, and especially about SUV drivers. I bought an Excursion for one reason - it's big and heavy and my small car just wasn't a viable ...

Pros: Roomey interior, comfortable ride, quality drive train, rugged good looks. Cons: All my friends call me when they get stuck! The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this vehicle to anyone looking to transport 6-9 people comfortably and with ample power to pull even the bulkiest loads.
As a father of 7 kids I gotta say I feel pretty qualified to write a meaningful review on this vehicle which I own and have owned for 8 yrs now. We bought our 2001 used (barely) with 30,000 miles on it in August of 2001. At that time we ...

Pros: Nothing Cons: BUILT BY FORD The Bottom Line: I dont recommend this car. Its horrible in every way shape and form.
Ever since 1995 I relied on the GMC YUKON to get my wife and myself around safely , effortless and comfortably. I work with the stock exchange in NYC, and in 2001 9/11 really put a scare into my family. My wife and I both work in NYC, and our paychecks ...

Pros: Excellent fuel milage for a vehicle this size Cons: sometimes tough finding diesel The Bottom Line: I would definately purchace another one.
Power, Handling, Fuel economy, comfort. That says it all in the PSD Excursion.
My 2001 Excursion has the 7.3L diesel. I can on road trips get towards 22MPG.. In town taking the kids around I get an average of 15-16MPG. Yes..you read that right.
The other advantage of this beast is that diesel prices are for the most part...

Pros: It is a safe hauling machine. DRIVES EXCELLENT. Cons: A gas hog. If your tight on budget beware! The Bottom Line: Definately a supreme choice for the always on the go family. Great for hauling and super in the snow.
This is a great SUV. If your looking for a people hauler that has 4x4, seats 8, with a large trunk area, this would truly be the car for you. This car handles very well around corners, snow, ice and wet roads. This car also has one of the toughest...

Pros: roomy, looks great inside and out, interior materials, suprisingly agile, outstanding value, toughness Cons: still not agile enough, fuel econemy, Turbo Diesel Engine costs too much The Bottom Line: Better than the suburban quality and value wise.
As I went and drove a 2001 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 V10 this weekend, I thought "does the world really need this?" then I thought, "well they may not, but I do." The Excursion is a large vehicle, particularly in weight. It weighs over 7000 pounds....

Pros: Fits a billion kids and all their stuff. Cons: Hard to park. The Bottom Line: If you have a big family or lots of stuff to haul around, there is no better (or bigger) choice.
When we decided to "upgrade" from our Grand Caravan last December, I was seriously looking at the Suburban and the Sequoia. But one ride in this baby was all it took. You'll be sitting on top of the world...literally!
We got the Limited 4x4...
