Pros: Low end torque, suspension, price Cons: Visibility out of rear quarter windows, CD player gets hot The Bottom Line: Worth a look if you're looking for a work truck, or a cheap commuter vehicle with hauling capability. Not without its warts, but a decent value.
I went looking for a pickup in December of 2001. I looked at all the small pickup models. (Tacoma,Frontier,Ranger in addition to the Sonoma) Ended up buying a GMC Sonoma Extended Cab. I've driven the truck as a commuter vehicle for the past two years and ...

Pros: Interior comfort, value for the dollar. Cons: Only one rear door. The Bottom Line: If your budget says car but your needs say truck the Sonoma is for you.
It is very dark and I am searching for third gear, fifth gear just did not work so well at 35 MPH. This 2001 GMC Somona truck belongs to my friend and I am now trying to remember my stick shift driving skills from five years ago. Actually driving this ...

Pros: Great handling, good power, and looks good too Cons: Typical "Union built" problems. What can you expect for $18 an hour and full benefits? The Bottom Line: Not a bad truck if maintained properly.
I purchased my 01' Sonoma new in the fall of 2001. The ZQ8 suspension package was one of he main reasons I bought this truck. The Bad: During the first year I owned the Sonoma it seemed like it was in the shop more than it was in my driveway. The ...

Pros: Smooth driving, lots of interior room Cons: small bed The Bottom Line: Great smal 4-door truck. Small bed, but other qualities make up for it
Late last March I decided I needed a new ride before I transferred to another job. As I was shopping around, I took a quick peek at a 2001 Sonoma 4-door truck. Now I'm a country boy that owned an extended cab Ford F-350 with the powerstroke and was...

Pros: Get up and go goes good, very powerful, nice ride, dash set up well Cons: no back speakers for radio, low 4 wheel drive shifting a bit confusing to operate The Bottom Line: This is definitely a sharp, dependable, and comfortable ride. We feel we made a good investment!
This is a snappy little pickup...has the 3rd for our daughter to ride in back. Seems really powerful for a "little one". Like the color pewter...hides lots. Had a little trouble with it having alot of scratches at the dealership and a wheel off...

Pros: An abundance of power. Large roomy interior. Smooth ride Cons: 18 mpg from a small truck, I got the same with a king-cab f-150.
I bought this truck used two years ago. According to carfax it had been a rental in Las Vegas and then bounced from dealer to dealer around the desert southwest. It had seen some hard years in the sun and at least one break in. I have the three door with a v-6. I'm six foot two and can stretch out nicely. Lots of storage in the back, and a jump seat that would be suitable for a child. This truck gets up and hauls. And for here in Tucson a must, AC that is actually too cold. I expect to keep this one for at least another ten years

Pros: Compact, great power, great capacity, easy driving Cons: Costs more in gas than a car and is not meant for family.
We've bought this amazing compact truck in 2003 because my husband felt in love with it.
At first, I was a bit reluctant to purchase a truck because we live in downtown Montreal (Province of Quebec in Canada) and it's not ideal to own and most of all, park a truck.
My husband insisted and we left on a huge road trip around the province. It has shown not sign of weakness or problem and did not cost too much in gas considering the size of the vehicle. The driving is smooth and easy, almost closer to a car driving feeling than anything else.
The extended cab is amazing with a 3rd seat for a guest. The cab also offers huge inside storage that adds up with the exterior storage for an amazing capacity's small truck.
We have used it about 20 times for moving friends out without any problem. Get transport straps, they will help maximize the capacity.
We've also done major home improvements and have used it to transport all sorts of materials during months. This is a strong and liable bulldog truck. I strongly recommend it. And it's easy to park too!
