Pros: Sleek design, excellent safety rating, handles well, more than enough room for an average family. Cons: Leg room up front,Stereo system is average, the rear hatch doesn't open automatically. The Bottom Line: This is the Van you need to be looking at over the Caravan. We've done the research and it shows far better in the long run with Honda's reputation
Here we Go
I might have at one time in my life swore up and down I would never be caught driving a Mini Van of any sort—pre-twin era. I am sure that I have said a thousand times, that by the time I reach 40 I hope to have a sports car and be...

Pros: Storage space, roominess, dependability, safety, gas mileage, low to no maintenance, handling, most everything! Cons: Power sliding doors are a bit slow, rear hatch door is heavy to slam shut. The Bottom Line: Happy I bought it, would do it again, would recommend a used one to anyone, providing it has been treated well. This van has served our growing family well.
I bought my minivan new in 2001. With two pre-teen sons involved in multiple sports and all of the equipment that goes with that, our Lincoln Navigator just wasn't cutting it regarding storage space. I was somewhat hesitant to buy the product just ...

Pros: Sharp, powerful, great options, solid, reliable, great resale value Cons: Expensive- but consider the standard options you get for the price! The Bottom Line: Such a nice minivan. Expensive but so many great options. The engine is powerful and responsive. Handling is precise. Powerful Brakes. So stylish. What more can you ask for?
When I was growing up my grandparents had the quintessential uncool car, a 1968 model station wagon. Growing up in rural Kentucky you see a lot of minivans, or vehicles that used to be minivans before someone converted them into a NASCAR mobile or a...

Pros: Fast pickup, good brakes, comfy, well equipped. Cons: Pickup isn't great in motion, stereo could be better. The Bottom Line: Probably the BEST family automobile. Safe, great visibility (not so much in rear however).
Looking for a pro-family car that is comfortable, advanced, and reliable? No need to search more my friend, you've found it. It's the 2001 Honda Odyssey. EXTERIOR: Let's start on the exterior, drivetrain is spectactular, a very smooth ride. One ...

Pros: Honda reliability, rides like a sedan, perfectly practical. Cons: LX model has no remote keyless entry. The Bottom Line: By all means, consider this minivan before any other.
The 2001 Honda Odyssey comes in two trims, LX and EX. My family bought our LX in January, 2001 and have been loving it ever since.
Comparison between LX and EX trims
The base LX model (MSRP $24,340):

Pros: Must read the review Cons: Must read the review The Bottom Line: I would recommend it for all the usual Honda reasons but get the lower model and avoid the sliding doors.
I am a big fan of honda's. I already drive a 91' civic hatchback, and my parents drive the Odyssey.
We had been looking for a van to replace our Dodge which spent more time in the shop than in my driveway.
The *only* minivan we...

Pros: Solidly built, excellent handling, attractive, lots of storage space, fold-down flat seats, moveable seats Cons: Very minor usability issues gear shifter interfering with radio controls, slow acceleration in first gear The Bottom Line: The 2001 Honda Odyssey *is* the benchmark for mini-vans. Having excellent performance, expertly manufactured, with excellent safety ratings, the Odyssey is the best van on the road.
We recently owned a 1996 Ford Windstar with 66,000 miles until it started having some minor problems. After reading the horror stories where 1995 Windstar owners (and some 1996 owners) had severe engine gasket problems, we decided to buy a new van for...

Pros: Space, space and space! Cons: long waiting list The Bottom Line: This minivan is easy to drive, responds well to driver, pulls a camper with ease and has a huge cargo capacity.
The Decision:
Last spring we went on a weekend trip with our two young children. At the time we had a station wagon and thought we had lots of room. By the time we packed clothes for 3 days for 2 adults, a 4 year old and a baby; added a...

Pros: Excellent vehicle, great quality and versatility, and outstanding performance. Cons: It's a minivan! The Bottom Line: A stellar minivan. The safest and most unique minivan currently out in the market. Well worth the investment.
I cannot count the number of times I have said "I will never own a minivan." But, two kids and two dogs later - trips in our Honda Accord just are too difficult. I used to have an Explorer but there just isn't much more room for luggage once you put the ...

Pros: Quality, safety features, 2 sliding doors, very deep trunk, drives smoothly, cool in and out Cons: not many, Honda makes it simple and makes it well - see opinion The Bottom Line: Excellent vehicle for a family with kids on the go. Dual sliding doors are convenient and the safety record and craftsmanship are reassuring. Definite recommendation.
I was happy with my Dodge but dreamed about the Honda and just never thought I could afford it. My husband and I decided to start leasing our vehicles and that allowed us into the Honda world though the retail price is reasonable for the quality. Major...

Pros: more room, more options, better safety, ergonomically designed Cons: sheet metal is 'soft' easy to dent, cost prohibitive The Bottom Line: Designed for a mother on the go. The middle seats are ideal for carseats and teathering with the LATCH system is flawless. The dual accessory power equals happy electronic teenagers.
It is awesome! It had to be designed by a mom... If you were traveling from home to say Yellowstone park, where would all the luggage be? in the back, where would you want the spare tire to be during a flat? yep, behind the driver in the floor where...

Pros: Powerful engine, very spacious, comfortable ride, cargo room up the wazzoo Cons: Pricey compared to competitors, won't fit in our garage without care. The Bottom Line: If you don't mind having to pay top dollar you'll get your money's worth. Also the Honda name and limited availability will ensure that the car will hold its value.
With the unexpected demise of our much beloved mitsubishi Expo my wife and I began searching for a replacement vehicle. Unfortunately no one makes anything like the Expo anymore and the closest we found was the Mazda MPV. Unfotunately the local Mazda...

Pros: just about everything Cons: nothing major The Bottom Line: I definitely recommend the Odyssey because of its space and superior features, but also because of Honda's reputation for reliability and resale value.
We purchased a 2001 Odyssey just over a month ago. Here in the Northeast, Odysseys are hard to come by. Most dealers take advantage of this by offering the vehicles for MSRP and adding a handful of unwanted options totaling hundreds of dollars. Most...

Pros: 5 Star Safety Rating; Smooth handling; Solid; Roomy; Small Turning Radius Cons: Simple styling; The Bottom Line: I love this van, and highly recommend it
I think I am an excellent person to rate this van. This is my forth van owned in almost 5 years. I wrote an epinion on my 2000 Windstar(which also was about my 1998 Windstar).
Let me give you a little background:
I bought a 1996 Plymouth...
