Pros: great gas mileage. good service. rides very good. excellent radio/tape player. good low end accelation. Cons: hi revs at 70 MPH,3200 still gets good gas mileage. need larger drink holders The Bottom Line: also looked at ford focus, toyota small cars, kia, and daewoo. the accent put them to shame in ride, convenience, price, and gas mileage. hyundai rules in my book.
i bought my 2001 accent on 6/30/01 from hampton hyundai in baton rouge, la. i was looking for a car at a reasonalbe price, that got good gas mileage, and had a good warranty. i found everything in my hyundai accent. car equipped with 1.6 liter engine, 5...

Pros: great gas miliage, great handling, great warranty, awesome customer service Cons: none that i can think of The Bottom Line: It is the perfect "kid at college" or "credit builder" car. It is reliable and comfortable and sharp looking.
On the morning of my 19th birthday, I woke up and called my bank to see if my loan application had been approved. It had and by 9:30 that night, I drove off the Courtesy lot in Tampa, FL with my new Accent. I got the smallest package I could; manual...

Pros: quiet, solid, peppy, great A/C, value, warranty Cons: no cruise control
I bought my 2001 Accent GS last night. I really wanted an automatic with A/C. I also only wanted the beige interior so that left me with green, white, and desert sand as exterior colors. So I had put my order in for a desert sand color GS 3 weeks ago...

Pros: Peppy, comfortable, corners like it's on rails, stereo is great. Cons: Wiper pivot assembly, no A/C, gas tank could be a little bigger for longer trips. The Bottom Line: This car is a fantastic buy, a great car for a student, or someone just starting out on their career.
After taking a 1998 Elantra from 115,000km to 205,000km and changing only the brake pads/shoes, rear coil springs, and the wiper pivot assembly, I decided it was time to get a new used car. I just don't trust anything with 200,000km on it. Since I ...

Pros: Zippy, great handling, nice looking Cons: Tough driver side blind spot The Bottom Line: I hated it until I test drove it. Don't let your perceptions get the best of you, this car is worth a try.
I just drove my Accent GS home a few hours ago. When I went to the dealer's I didn't have high hopes. I thought the Accents were too small and slow. Then I test drove the GS to find that it was as quick as my 6 cylinder and roomier than expected. I'm...

Pros: Low Price
Lots of Features
10 Year/100,000 Mile Warranty Cons: Only average acceleration
Car can be cramped for larger people The Bottom Line: Don't overlook this deal, especially for the single person, this car can handle most everyday city needs.
I'm a 20-year-old college student that didn't want to invest the time into researching and repairing a used car. The accent was the perfect match for me. On the service side, I've had my accent for 9 months now and had only one problem with it. About a...

Pros: A great little car with a little price tag Cons: The rear windows don't open The Bottom Line: I recommend it because it's a solid, nice handling, sporty looking car with a nice balance of power, at a low cost.
I think that the best way to start this is by saying that in 1994 we needed a car desperately. We couldn't afford anything big or fancy so somehow we ended up with a Hyundai Excel. It was cheap, new and suited our needs. As things turned out, it was ...

Pros: Terrific handling, cute affordable car Cons: No clock! The Bottom Line: It's a great car for the money.
If you read my review on how to buy a car you know that my daughter was given money for college graduation to buy a new car. She chose the 2001 Hyundai Accent. I test drove the 2000 and the 2001. I also drove it home, which is about an hours ride...

Pros: Very few repairs. Rocks with gas mileage. Peppy little booger. Cons: It's small. Not good in snow. Surface rust on engine components seems high. The Bottom Line: Great, inexpensive car. Not the most luxurious, but an awesome economical choice.
I was a Honda enthusiast for years and never thought I'd change. The year I was looking for a new car, Honda stopped making its Civc hatchback. I ended up opting for a new (technically used - flagged for leasing, had 40mi) Hyundai Accent which was ...

Pros: Inexpensive, sporty, responsive power Cons: Cup holder location, A/C & cruise not standard The Bottom Line: A sporty powerful compact with a price tag that's easy to swallow while also providing great gas mileage
We purchased this car due to it's affordability, sporty good looks and great fuel savings. With a rocky start in the vehicle industry, Hyundai has come a long way, and now provides vehicles which compare to many other leading Japanese makes. It's...

Pros: Peppy, cute car. Lots of room for cargo. High MPG. Cons: Not built to last much past 100,000 miles. The Bottom Line: Buy a 2001 Accent only if the mileage isn't too high. I've heard great things about the new Accent & wouldn't hesitate to buy a new one.
I owned a 2001 Hyundai Accent from 2002 to 2008. I was technically its second owner. My mother bought the car brand new and after a series of events unrelated to the car itself, she ended up selling it to me at a great discount with only 4,000 miles on ...

Pros: Pocket rocket, Honda-like quality, better than US brands. That warranty! Thieves ignore it. Cons: Initial problems (covered), cheap details, low clearance, rear strut covers, no ABS, low resale value. The Bottom Line: If you're buying one now, try to get one with low miles, and it could keep you happy for years!
We have a 2001 GS hatchback. We bought it new. After 5 years, we only have 35k miles on it, so we haven't given it average wear. I bought it because the fit and finish and the way it handled reminded me of my Mom's Civic hatchback, which has been a ...

I bought my Accent new a couple years ago. I work part time, so I was looking for something in the 10grand price range. And the Accent was perfect. Mine is a 1.5 SOHC 5 speed manual.
My Accent runs super quiet. I run it longer than I...

As you might already know, we own a bunch of vehicles. We have always had a very cheap little car for running errands and the like. We had a 1998 Dodge Neon Highline with 59K miles and it was just ok. My biggest complaint was the lack of power and the ...

Pros: Roomy, comfortable, nice to drive, excellent on gas, and safe. Cons: Not horribly powerful. The Bottom Line: There might be better cars out there, but you won't find a comparable one for the price.
On May 8, 2001, I bought my first Hyundai Accent. I based my purchase on the only criterion I've known to be useful. I couldn't find one for sale in the used car ads. That's usually a good sign. It was a GS model, tricked out with A/C, CD player, and...
