Pros: Unmatched comfort, innovative amenities Cons: Copycat slab-sided styling The Bottom Line: Wonderful interior and very quiet, but the styling and handling need work.
For 2001, Toyota has redesigned its flagship, the Lexus LS luxury sedan. The new car, now called the LS 430 to reflect a larger, torquier engine, is at once magnificent and sad. Magnificent because of the unparalleled array of features it manages to ...

Pros: Both cars are great with basically no flaws Cons: none
Luxury sedans are quite the talk in the automotive world lately. With these large and roomy cars becoming more sportier and faster, sport sedans may be the best term for them. The Lexus LS 430 is a new improved version of the popular LS 400 while the...

Pros: Performance, Quiet, Comfort, Stereo, Navigation Cons: Price The Bottom Line: If you love to be pampered, and desire trouble free transportation, the LS430 is a great solution.
The LS430 is my 4th Lexus, the first three being LS400's. Each time I replace my car, I'm amazed at the improvements Lexus has implemented. Their slogan of the "Relentless Pursuit of Perfection" is not an exaggeration. With the LS430, I think they may...

Pros: Aggressive price, excellent ride, higher grades of leather and wood. Cons: Exterior styling The Bottom Line: Don't waste your money on a Mercedes. There are a few features in the Mercedes, but it's not worth the 20K premium.
When thinking of reviewing one of the most luxurious cars in the world, one must ponder a few facts. One being, what truly defines a luxury vehicle? In my opinion a luxury vehicle is not just a vehicle over 35K, it's a vehicle that truly pampers you in...

Pros: Luxury. Sheer, unadulterated luxury Cons: None
When I write a car review, I generally try to give as balanced an opinion as possible in regard to a cars’ relative merits or failings.
The problem I faced when sitting down to write this review of the new model Lexus LS430, from Japanese...

Pros: Superb build quality; quiet and quick; loads of creature comforts; perfection on four wheels. Cons: None, unless you want to argue about the styling. The Bottom Line: Hands down, the best luxury car out there. Quiet as a tomb, amazingly comfortable, powerful, and qualifies as a bargain compared to a similarly equipped S-class.
I'm the guy they targeted this car at (a 55-year old professional) and boy, did they hit a bulls-eye!
Although this is my first Lexus, it is not my first luxury car. My wife is on her third Mercedes and other cars we've owned include Porsche,...

Pros: Utmost refinement, Total care of occupants, Content and Value.
Cons: Standard wheels, Over-the-top Ultra Lux The Bottom Line: Buy it, Lease it, just get it and forget the style detractors.
When this car was introduced, everyone in the automotive media noticed that the "cons" about it were the "slab-sided previous generation S-Class styling" and "less-than-perfect transmission behavior". Other than that, they could barely hide their...

Pros: Quiet, smooth, powerful, ultimate luxury Cons: Exterior styling
Last August, I entered the market to replace my 1998 Mercedes E320. It had become 36 months old, which for me is very old. When I bought the Benz, I glanced at the LS 400. It was nice, but the interior didn't do anything for me. It seemed big and a...

Pros: smoothest shifting for an automatic, great acceleration, effortless steering Cons: price, looks The Bottom Line: Its a great car overall but we preferred the Jag since it was better looking and less expensive.
Cadillac and Motor trend sponsored an interesting test drive weekend at Stone Mountain in Atlanta.

Pros: Mark Levinson Audio System, Redwood is beautiful, Choice of exterior colors Cons: Cheap cheap cheap wheels, Luxury features copied, more below The Bottom Line: If you want superior craftmanship, Mercedes Benz should defiantly be your next choice when purchasing a vehicle. Lexus does not hold up to Mercedes standards.
Let me first start by saying the LS430 is a nice car, but doesn't come close to the S-class in most Catagories. The LS430's engine is to quiet, the doors don't close with that solid German thunk. The wheels on a car this class are atrocious. Why would...

Pros: Ride, paint colors, interior palletes Cons: Not the reliability I have come to expect from Lexus. The Bottom Line: I would not reccomend this car to ANYBODY..Mercedes has outdone lexus 100X with its S-Class
Lexus has a 12 year heitage while Mercedes Benz has a 108 year heritage. Lexus is very well known for it's copying as with any JAPANESE automaker. Every option that is in the S-class and was never in the other Lexus models is now in the LS430, (Lexus...

Pros: spacious, great handling, silent drive, luxurious interior Cons: exterior needs serious work The Bottom Line: If you are planning on purchasing an LS430 i suggest you wait for the new q45. Infiniti beat lexus this time around.
Lexus are famous for creating luxurious sedans for a reasonable amount of money. The LS430 is lexus's new flag ship which they believe is as close as they have gotten to perfection....NOT.. I am so annoyed.. i bought the LS430 and a couple of months...

Pros: Silent Engine, Aerodynamic, Luxury, All of them combined with an excellent Price Tag Cons: Continued tradition of moulding Mercedes' S-Class,poor resale price The Bottom Line: Its just another Japanese clone of a German car.
With nearly tons of similarities of the new Mercedes S-Class, there are no reasons against calling the new Lexus the Lexus S-Class. The name starts with the letters L and S, so there are no surprise that the flagship Lexus is called, the LS430.

Pros: Quiet as a botomless pitt! Cons: Where's all the sportiness?
The Lexus LS430 is a totally redesigned model for the 2001 model year. It has
made quite a few improvements over the last year srather bland-styled model. This means
it has a fresh new design for today s new tastes. The LS430 is one of the...

Pros: Smooth, effortless operation Cons: Boring styling, high price for a compact car The Bottom Line: WAY overpriced; buy a loaded Camry and invest the rest in a Miata
Have rented and driven most of the cars in this class to evaluate them prior to purchase, and I must say, this one would be one of my last choices when I do buy a luxury car later this year. The car runs okay, and has a reputation of being trouble-free,...
