Pros: Captains chairs Convert to Bench Seat, Fold Down Seats in Rear, Rear Windows Roll Down Cons: Carpets darken early, Air blocked by steering wheel The Bottom Line: In our home, we may not refer to this vehicle as simply a van. The Mazda MPV lives up to its name. It is a Multi Purpose Vehicle!
After three years of yearning and researching, we were finally able to purchase the van of our dreams! Truthfully, I never imagined at the age of 29 (I won't be 30 for another week) I would actually use the words "van of our dreams." However, after...

Pros: plenty of space and great features Cons: slightly underpowered, tires The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle to people that needed a safe comfortable minivan for a good price.
My husband and I recently purchased an MPV after searching for the right deal for well over a month and a half. We already own a Honda Odyssey and were not interested in another vehicle of that size or cost. But, with a recent addition to our family...

Pros: About 90% of a Honda Odyssey. Cons: Some cheap cost saving measures. The Bottom Line: The Odyssey is a better vehicle for roughly the same price, but if you get a good price consider the MPV.
We've had our 2001 MPV for about 3 months, and we've completed one 3500 mile family excursion. My initial impression has been sustained. This vehicle is overall about 80-90% as good as the industry-leading Honda Odyssey. If you want a slightly smaller...

Pros: Seats, Handling, Size, Interior Cons: Weak a/c The Bottom Line: I recomend this van to any one looking for a nice small van with good interior space and a great driving experiance
Ok.. I was about fed up.. I had a 1999 Odyssey LX van for my work and it had 45K on it..24 trips to the dealer in 24 months..Once a month.. Then, the trans lost drive and i blew my fuse. Knowing it would be more hassle to repair the vehicle i whent out ...

Pros: Feel like driving a car. Cons: Fuel consumption high, weak engine, weak AC, expensive parts, poor service, insurance high. The Bottom Line: Before you buy, get a high speed test-driving on highway (120km/h).
I have not so much compliments for that vehicle. I bought it new for $32.000 CND. I sold it when l ...

Pros: Excellent passenger room and cargo room, smooth quiet ride Cons: Engine performance needs improvement and gas milage in the city is rather poor. The Bottom Line: The Mazda MPV is not perfect but excellent overall.
Well, we picked up the Mazda MPV back in to July 2001. Our options included side air bags and 6-Disc CD changer. The milage right now of our Mazda is about 12,200 miles. It is not daily driven however. The van is a pretty decent van. It's engine ...

Pros: Good proportions: size/wt/pwr; side windows open & back seat folds Cons: Only light colored carpet available The Bottom Line: Just the right size for a small family. Car-like ride and thoughtful features make good value.
We selected this van because it was smaller than the Chrysler or Honda, but larger than the Nissan or Olds. It seems to be about the same size as the Toyota... but with the following better features: completely assembled in Japan, side door windows...

Pros: Versatile folding rear seat and affordable price. Cons: Weak air conditioning, uncomfortable seats, rough transmission, and poor gas mileage. The Bottom Line: All things consider, I would definitely not buy this model again.
I've owned my MPV for about six months now, and I've been pretty dissappointed with my purchase. I bought the MPV because it was one of the most affordable mini-vans on the market, but now I wish that I had spent the extra money for a higher quality...

Pros: Comfortable ride. Reliable. Low maintenance. Will probably be driving it to my own funeral.. Cons: Rear seats are cramped. Spark plugs & wires are under a big aluminum thingey. The Bottom Line: If my wife totals this one I'll buy another. That's probably the only way it'll die. We own two other Mazda's and they are all rock solid!
We bought this new in 2000 for 26 grand. At 172,00 miles we had to rebuild the transmission ($2400). Other than that, the only maintenance has been tires, batteries, oil and three spark plug/wire changes. I like how the temperature gauge goes exactly to ...

Pros: Dependable, fun to drive. Great people movers. Love the styling. Leather seats are extremely comfortable. Cons: Underpowered. 2003 models have a 200 hp engine. The Bottom Line: Great van at a great value. If you don't want to blow the big bucks on a Sienna or Odessy, the MPV is the next best thing.
Great Van. Handles the family (Six members) travel needs with room to spare. Great quality in the workmanship. First Mazda I own (Zoom,Zoom, Zoom) and I am very impressed.
I did a lot of research in choosing a van. Looked at all the American and...

Pros: comfortable, leg room, easy to drive,
front bucket seats, back bucket seats Cons: None The Bottom Line: I recommend the 2001 Mazda MPV to large size families. For those families that want to get away on a long trip.
My husband purchased a Mazda MPV LX 2001 for me as gift. A
month after I got my drivers license. I have no complaints.
This vehicle is fully loaded. I do know what is good for my family. This car is like driving a Cadillac , so smooth. We were...

Pros: Rear windows roll down! Back passenger seat slides for easy 3rd row access Cons: doesn't pull out as fast as our old car
Now that our girls are starting school and we're hauling our nieces around more often we decided it was time to trade in the Chevy Malibu and get a bigger vehicle. We've had the MPV for about 6 months now and we are loving it! It has plenty of room, is great to take on vacation and we can separate the kids easier when they're arguing! I would recommend this van to anyone who needs a lot of traveling space!

Pros: AWESOME HANDLING,GREAT RELIABILITY,POWERFUL ENGINE,VERY SAFE Cons: NOT ENOUGH TRUNK SPACE WITH SEATS IN, KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER KEEPS BREAKING
I'VE OWNED MY 2001 MPV FOR ONE YEAR NOW , AND MUST ITS BEEN GREAT , I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND SOME OF THESE REVIEWS , THEY MUST HAVE GOT LEMONS.
BUT I MUST AGREE WITH SOME OF THEM ABOUT THE A/C ITS NEEDS MORE, AS FOR HORSE POWER I THINK IT HAS MORE THEN ENOUGH
"HANDS DOWN" THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST MINI VAN I'VE OWNED ,
HANDLES LIKE A SPORTS CAR , GREAT IN SNOW AND RAIN .
MY NEXT MINI VAN WILL BE A MPV.

MPV - Most Potential Value (But Not Realized)

Pros: - Looks good.
- Great features.
- Decent handling. Cons: - Poor quality.
- Poor gas mileage.
- No passing power.
We have 33,000 miles on our 2001 MPV now, and the three-year manufacturer's warranty just expired. We will probably trade soon for a new Toyota Sienna - the MPV hasn't proven to be reliable (see cons below) enough to justify hanging on to it much longer. Too bad, it is an excellent concept, but poorly executed. It never should have shipped with the 2.5 L V6 and four-speed trans. Brake noises and steering vibrations have been with us since early on, and apparently neither can be resolved. The trans failed at 29,000 miles and had to be replaced. Overall lousy dealer service (three different Mazda dealerships).
Bottom Line - We won't be buying a Mada product again anytime soon.
