Pros: Good power from V8, Nice exterior finish and styling Cons: Cheap, stripped down, uncomfortable interior, Rocking and rolling ride, even on smooth pavement. The Bottom Line: Really a disappointment in driving compared to the looks, which are above average. Unergonomic interior and sharp hard edges everywhere. Avoid this!
The 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis is the last of a dying breed: the gigantic American sedan with rear wheel drive, V8 engine, and body-frame construction. I grew up driving these Detroit chrome monsters, the Chevolet Caprice, Buick Lesabre, Chrysler New...

Pros: Smooth Ride, plenty of room and power. Cons: Anti-lock brakes are an option, they should be standard. The Bottom Line: For the price it has to be the best bargain in a full size sedan.
We have been looking to buy a new car and I said lets check out something bigger and roomier in a car than what we normally have. It is amazing how long some sales people will let you test drive a new car or truck, I have kept one as long as a whole...

Pros: Full-Frame. Full-Size, Rear-Wheel Drive. Powerful V-8 Engine. Excellent Value. Cons: Looks too much like Ford Crown Victoria The Bottom Line: I never had so much fun with a full-size car! An excellent value! A lot of car for very little money!
My girlfriend's 3-month old Chevrolet Impala was smashed by a hit-and-run driver last Friday. The repair is going to take about a week and a half to repair and cost $1,900 excluding the rental car. She went to Enterprise Car Rental and was given a dirty...

Pros: affordable luxury, reliability, safety, smooth looks, quiet and generally smooth ride Cons: there's a few extra features Mercury could've added, soft rather than sporty, some old-fashioned aspects The Bottom Line: Before you buy any car or truck, it is worth your while to check the Marquis out. It is a unique, wonderful, and nearly flawless vehicle.
*I have owned this vehicle for longer now, and am updating my review. I am reviewing a 90% loaded LS model*
Wow. This car is an impressive machine. I will give you a breakdown of its features.
Exterior: 9

Pros: Stereo, Ride and Cloth Seats Cons: Everything else The Bottom Line: I don't recommend this car, unless you want RWD or something as horrid as this... Get a Buick Lesabre or a Taurus, much better cars
This is my grandmas car, she bought it in 2002 and has driven it 14,000 miles in this time frame.. Its too big for her and I hope she will come to her senses and trade it soon for another explorer... The only good thing is this car has great low ...

Pros: Zero defects, Lincoln ride, smooth, frugal and strong V8 Love it! Cons: Needs brighter headlight bulbs, bring back the trunk lid liner and pwr pull down The Bottom Line: Rear wheel drive in luxury cars is coming back. There's a reason. Relaxed, quite, secure, great a/c, V8 power on command..Grand Marquis.
This is the first of several new cars that has no defects. None. I suggest though that you purchase the Handling and Performance Package. The standard rental type GM is ok, but the fully loaded model with electronic dash is a gem. The rear anti-sway bar...

Grand Marquis LSE

Pros: LSE is similar to Marauder, but no high compression engine that needs premium fuel. Cons: Leather wrapped steering wheel is wearing away from where I grip it.
I have owned a 2001 Grand Marquis LSE since new and have put 65,000 miles on the car. The LSE was an option that added bucket seats, performance handling package with better brakes and suspension, larger tires, and dual exhaust for more power.
The car is excellent for long drives, and the LSE has lots of power and great handling for a big car. Snow tires are needed in NY.
