Pros: Smooth, Roomy, Price, Handling Cons: Slightly under powered without supercharger The Bottom Line: Although the Toyota Tacoma is a better truck, the Nissan wins big with it's aggressive exterior styling. Get the available supercharged engine to make this purchase worth the money.
Seems like someone slipped the Nissan Frontier design team a “Mickey,” and at the same time they were all watching Road Warrior. You can’t look at the front of the new Frontier and not think of Mad Max. This is especially true of the Crew Cab, and...

Pros: Aggressive look; supercharger; under-hood access; strong towing; off-road competence; just plain fun! Cons: Inconsistent fuel economy; rear seat headroom; rear seat legroom bearable The Bottom Line: This truck is a blast to drive! The operative word here is "truck." Not SUV or car, but truck. It's fun to drive and a real head turner!
The recent issue of Consumer Reports tested this vehicle and scored it the lowest of 5 (including the Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab, the Ford Explorer Sport-Trac, the Dodge Dakota Crew Cab and the Chevy S-10 Crew Cab). If you read the reviews or have read any...

Pros: Nissan quality, look, ride, Power Cons: Leg room, Bed lenth The Bottom Line: Go get one! You wont be sorry!!!!
I went from driving a 1999 Altima, to my 2001 Frontier! All I can say is WOW! After looking for my first new car, I decided that Nissan was the way for me, and picked up my Altima, only about 2 years old. I fell in love with it. Nissan was...

Pros: Unique Styling, Firm Ride, Supercharger option Cons: "crew" area not large enough, Short Bed, 17' wheels optional. The Bottom Line: Great convergance of SUV and pickup. Plenty of useability and it doesn't forget the kids! Reliability is rated in fine Nissan style. Excellent Value
When I started looking for a new vehicle, I had to take into account the fact that I was going to have to haul around 3 little kids. I thought a truck was out of the question, Nissan came to my rescue!
The 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab...

Pros: Pricing, Short turning radius, smooth ride, comfortable seating, option packages, mileage ratings, rugged looks Cons: short bed, front seat center arm rests, too much hard plastic around wheel wells The Bottom Line: The 2002 model with the full bed will be a big improvement. No other manufacturer can match the features in this CC for the same price. No hesitation recommendation
Nissan's styling changes on their '01 Frontier trucks are turning heads. Everyone is sure to have a definitive opinion, either you hate it or love it.
I sampled, priced and test-drove various trucks in the 'compact' pickup category before I...

Pros: Loaded with features, lots of utility, comfort and power. Cons: Availability is somewhat scarce, selection may suffer in some areas.
The moment I saw the Nissan Frontier Crew Cab introduced, I knew I had to have one. Compact trucks are my thing. I loved my Toyota, but to have four real doors, not suicide doors or a third door but four real doors and great styling that cinched the...

Pros: Styling, supercharger, power, price, quality Cons: None
Praise to thee, Nissan along with your well rounded Frontier pickup truck. I
never once looked at a Nissan truck until the Crew Cab came out last year and
when I did look at one of those, I was astounded. I had never realized that a ...

Pros: Aggressive styling, lots of features, comfortable Cons: Not Nissan's best, cheap feel to materials, mechanically questionable The Bottom Line: I would steer most people away from this truck. If I had to do it over, I'd have gone for the less flashy but tighter Tacoma.
We loved the styling when we first saw it. It truly is the best looking truck of its kind on the market even today. It drove great, and it was just what we needed at the time so we purchased it with around 22k miles. Shortly thereafter, the horn ...

Pros: Good engine, decent ride, gets lots of attention on the road Cons: Slightly short on legroom, 6-CD sound system should have more power The Bottom Line: I think this truck is very unique to the marketplace. The build quality is first rate, and the performance is excellent!
I recently bought this truck (as in I've had it for a week). As the previous owner of a 2001 Nissan Frontier King Cab XE 5-speed 4x4, I think I have a very good perspective on both trucks. In addition, I actually work at a Nissan dealer.

Pros: 4 doors, roomy, smooth driving Cons: not a lot of back seat leg room
The Bottom Line: It is a safe, tough and reliable truck. It's a name that can be trusted.
Last week my husband and I purchased the 2001 Frontier 4x4 SEV6. It has a one of a kind look, that makes it stand out from the crowd. The body styling is sleek and bold. It has 170hp 3.3 liter 6-cyl engine, this standard. You can upgrade it to the 210hp...

I pondered, wondered and finally just didnt do it!! I was very close in purchasing this truck, I worked out a deal on a 2001 Frontier 4wd king cab but just couldnt come down 1750.00. I test drove this truck 3 times and found it to be a solid competitor....

Pros: The Super Charged Frontier Crew Cab is the way to go. Cons: There are no cons. The Bottom Line: Don't skip on buying the Super charged model Nissan Frontier, and while you are at it, get the 4X4 and crew cab options, because you only live once.
I own a 2001 Frontier Crew Cab 4X4 with the super charger. The new 210 Hp engine has the power and quickness when you need it, but don't expect to beat everything on the road, the truck is still 4000 pounds and Car and Driver says it does 0-60 in 11...

Pros: High ground clearance, Off Road capabilities, Tons of options, Extra doors Cons: Too little power for price tag, odd look The Bottom Line: I reccomend if you cant decide between an SUV or truck, get the best of both worlds. This is a killer truck that can be fun and get work done.
All of my friends look at me in shock when I jump into my truck telling them it is unlocked. How are we supposed to get in the back. Well Nissan has answered this problem with the Frontier Crewcab. It looks mostly nice and has great ride.
Well I...

Pros: great styling, enough power (for the average person), lots of torque, great Nissan reliability Cons: gas mileage, not for someone looking for a car based truck The Bottom Line: Buy it if you want a "real truck" don't if you want a car-like ride to take the kids around town.
After owning two previous Nissan's without any troubles whatsoever, I knew my next vehicle would be a Nissan again. My girlfriend and sister also drive Xterra's and the Frontier shares the same engine and platform so it's basically the same truck with a...

Pros: This is a great truck with a great ride! Cons: Poor gas mileage and low end acceleration. The Bottom Line: This is by far the coolest looking truck on the planet. Okay maybe I am biased, but it's pretty darn cool! I highly recommend it!
I always liked the idea of the Nissan Frontier Crew Cab...it was just a little blah looking to me. But then came the 2001! Wow what a stunner! I was counting the days until the release of the new style. So in August of last year I was one of the...
