Overall the best car I've ever driven in my entire life.

Jul 16, 2010 (Not Yet Rated)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Longer lasting than any other car, seats are so comfortable, reliable, and so on.
Cons: Speed is 3 off, GM dealers closing down, Oldsmobile discontinued in 2004.
The Bottom Line:

This type of car make is longer lasting, along with the Buicks.

I've had this car since Fall 2007, which used to be my grandma's car before she died.  I had some major repair done as follows:1) New Brake Pads, 2 New Brake Rotors, and a new Tie Rod due to a vibration problem, which was $500 for the new ... read more

Just when they got it right...

May 12, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Dependable, well-built, luxury feel without the luxury price.
Cons: Oldsmobile out of business, have to get dealer service through other GM dealerships.
The Bottom Line: Hands down the best American-made car I've driven.

My wife and I purchased this car in late 2003 with 6000 miles left on the 36k warranty. We are now up close to 60k miles and haven't been sorry we bought it a day since then. First some background. Before this car I had a leased Ford Focus ZX3 ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good ride, automatic lights!
Cons: Transmission and tires.
The Bottom Line: A good car for a person looking for good comfort and sporty looks.

Bought the '01 Intrigue GL in winter of '02 with only 10k miles on it. Paid less than half of original price. Overall, it's been a great car. The only major problem I had was the transmission. It took two trips to the dealer in two weeks, ending up in ... read more

How bout an Intrigue?

Jul 19, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, Size, Handling, Performance
Cons: Tire end rods, Gas mileage, vibration
The Bottom Line: For the price of this vehicle, it rides and handles like luxury. Other than the outer tire rod ends. This has been a great vehicle to own thus far.

I purchased my 2001 Olds Intrigue back in May 2002. This car is a luxury type car that don't cost yo ... read more

2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS

Apr 30, 2003 - Updated Jan 14, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: 215 horsepower V6, quietness, Bose sound system, sunroof, chrome wheels (heck GLS package)!!
Cons: Interior plastic, blinking lights
The Bottom Line: LIKE I SAID, if you still want one, make sure it has the updated warranty or you may be sorry!!

I just got my Intrigue on April 29th and I am extremely happy so far. The power comes from a 3.5 Liter Twin Cam V6 that generates 215 horsepower. The transmission is extremely smooth. I got a chance to drive it one night and the power is very SUDDEN, no ... read more

Wheres the glamour?

Oct 22, 2000 - Updated Oct 28, 2000 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: good handling
Cons: boring all around with an older persons vehicle sensation

I test drove the only intrigue '01 at the dealers lot. I like to test drive cars on a Sat morning and see the new model year vehicles. For a car they rant and rave about I felt it was very plain. The engine was very quiet yet powerful but I just ... read more

Run, don't walk, away from a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue, or any Oldsmobile at all
Dec 24, 2003 (Show)
Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No
Pros: Good safety record reported. Sleek design, pretty car
Cons: See the review paragraph for all the problems we had with our 2001 Olds Intrigue.
We purchased a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue. Nothing but problems which occurred slightly after the warranty expired. At about 50,000 miles the left front bearing/hub assembly failed, costing $600. The brakes went out right away. At 60,000 miles, the ... read more
