Pros: The features, options, and plain driveability.
Cons: The looks man, The looks!!
The Bottom Line: Buy them cheaply, drive it till the wheels fall off. You cant go wrong with these. But try to get a 03 or newer.

I have been searching for the "right" Aztek, for my wife, for a couple years. I found this low mile gem in Philadelphia, from the original owner. So here's the story..I personally don't like the looks of the Aztek, as most people don't. The Buick ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Affordability, handling, design, and the coolest A/C controls I have seen yet!
Cons: Sliding rear cargo tray should be standard
The Bottom Line: This is the best and most comfortable family transporting vehicle I've tried. I love the "coolness" and the price is a real bonus! Totally affordable.

Let me begin by saying I have been "mini vanned" to death!!! I have owned 3 and refuse to buy another one. Now that the babes are teens it's time to be cool. My search for a SUV began in earnest, however I soon became disillusioned as we tested the mid ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: fun, different, camping pkg is great
Cons: crap, crap, and more crap. It was costing me too much in repairs!
The Bottom Line: Please Don't Waste Your Money. I'm never buying an American Engineered Car again.

My wife and I fell in love with the concept of this vehicle. We bought the camping package and used it often. Sometimes we'd even wake up to hearing neighboring campers walking around our Aztek wondering what it was. Plus why have the cookie cutter ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: I never worry about anyone stealing it :) Mileage Versatility
Cons: Poor resale value. Gas cap doesn't lock. Automatic only.
The Bottom Line: Aztek's are a bargain for what they are selling for. Versatile, different and fun car.

I've had my 2001 GT since summer of 2001 and it hasn't had any problems. We've camped in it about 10 times and it's no RV but sure beats sleeping in a tent. About half the time we don't even use the tent part, we just move the front seats all the way ... read more

Unrequited love......

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Ride, gas mileage, stereo system, and funky looks
Cons: Warranty--BIG MECHANICAL PROBLEM AT 40K!!!! Have spoke to 2 other owners with SAME PROBLEM
The Bottom Line: GM needs to get real with a warranty and fix engine design problems. If the engine was changed, this would be an excellent choice.

We needed a new car. I had changed jobs and I was very tired of my '95 Elantra, which, with 60K miles on it, was beginning to show age. I was driving over 50 miles one way...so I sit down and research. I don't like "cookie cutter" vehicles-no looks mea ... read more

Pros: Life saver, money saver, conversation piece...
Cons: Can't bring it to England...
The Bottom Line: This car is an excellent addition to your family: fun and yet practical for so many reasons...

Christmas Eve, 2002 and an ice storm hits our area as we drive home from the National Cathedral some time close to midnight. Driving slowly, we hit a black patch under a thin layer of white snow and spin to the right to the bank that bordered this ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Convenience, Gas mileage, lots of room!
Cons: Slight problem with placement of door handle
The Bottom Line: Best vehicle I've ever owned, would buy it again if they're still making it!

I've heard plenty of terrible things about the Aztek. I've even seen entire websites devoted to trashing it. But as far as I can tell, when it comes down to it, the only problem with the Aztek is how it looks, which is purely personal preference. I ... read more

Love my Aztek, Hate The Volume Control

May 24, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great Power And Handling, Comfort, Exterior Styling
Cons: Radio On/Off and Volume Button
The Bottom Line: All I can tell you is to test drive one today, you either love it or hate it.

I love my Aztek! It has plenty of power and its ready for anything you can throw at it. One complaint I have of the Aztek is the darn radio button, it seems like such a small thing to dwell on but, its something you use every day and often. When you are ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Gas mileage, roominess, and creature comforts.
Cons: Some interior tid-bits are fussy. Price is high.
The Bottom Line: It’s the best of a minivan, with the stuff you’ll actually use from an SUV. Throw that in with tons of electronic goodies and you’ve got one great honeywagon.

First let me say I own a 2001 GT/AWD black Aztek fully loaded with leather, moonroof, rear captains chairs, trailer towing package, Head-Up-Display, and much much more. Buying a car is a tough decision. There’s so much to take into account. ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: fun, great leg room, awesome stereo
Cons: Expect stares and comments.
The Bottom Line: It's ugly, but so are bull dogs, and people love them. Don't buy this car if you want to be inconspicuous! Great Car!

It's ugly, but it's a ton of fun to drive. The exterior looks didn't sell me on this car. It was the interior. How fun! Great stereo, every gadget known to man, and then even some new gadget's I hadn't heard of. It's roomy enough for my 6'4" body, ... read more

"Quirks" Be Gone!

by
Feb 1, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Roomy, Unique look, lots of compartments, smooth ride, great for trips.
Cons: cooler leaks, plastic shrinks in summer, problem with shifting front panel.
The Bottom Line: It is a good choice for comfy smooth rides. Some quirks that will hopefully be worked out with newer models.

I really like the 2001 Aztek. We have had one since April 2001. It's roomy, and a very nice riding vehicle. However, the model we have is a GT AWD and it seems to have some problems with shifting panels in the front end. The head lights are sticking ... read more

The Egg that drives my family.

by
Jan 7, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: The Aztek has everything I was looking for in a family car.
Cons: My sister calls it the "ostrich egg". Has one heck of a blind spot.
The Bottom Line: This is the best car ever. Thank you for selling it to us, Corey!

I think what throws a lot of people off the Aztek is the exterior look of the car. Basically it has a hatchback shape. But hatchbacks are supposed to be small so the Aztek is a hatchback on steroids! To give some scale, when I stand next to my car, ... read more

Aztek more than just bad "Survivor" marketing!`

by
Dec 19, 2001 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Awesome attention to detail and options galore.
Cons: I can't afford two.
The Bottom Line: These options and more make for a VERY comfortable car-like ride with the world at your fingertips! Test-drive this vehicle!

Please don't let the very poor marketing of this awesome vehicle scare you away. Go to a dealer and let them show you the many options you never knew you needed included on the Aztek! Did you know: Radio controls are available in the rear of the vehicle? ... read more

Pros: Sits up high, quiet, tows 3500 lbs and still get good gas mileage
Cons: no complaints after 1 year
The Bottom Line: I would buy a third one.

Another update. I just returned from a long trip with the newer TEK (see below). Between Kokomo IN and St. Paul, MN it got 30.1 miles/gallons on the the highway. After owning this car for 8 months I have no problems to report. I wrote the ... read more

Pros: Cargo room, mileage, new model's styling, class leading in every way.
Cons: Styling is somewhat unpleasant.
The Bottom Line: Don't pay attention to opinionated reviews, get the facts and drive it yourself.

I need a new vehicle my 96' model Camaro is wearing thin. The Camaro is getting old and so am I, I don't need a back breaking ride anymore, no more loud wind noise, no loud V8, I want a luxury car. I want a car that can hold my mountain bike too, and ... read more

Oct 24, 2001 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Drives very well. Great looking interior
Cons: The exterior simply tries too hard. Impractical "stowage" areas inside.
The Bottom Line: If you are even considering an Aztek you are obviously over its looks or just attracted to it. And since there's nothing better in its class. Go for it!

What a wonderfully driving auto. The vehicle handles and maneuvers quite well. It has some very practical features on inside like cargo area stereo controls so that you can have a true tailgate party. It also has a head up display that projects speed ... read more

Pros: Very roomy (even for big guys), great features, nice handling
Cons: unique styling, 5 MPH bumper
The Bottom Line: It handles great and offers a lot of great new features and should be a serious consideration for a younger crowd!!

The Truth! Updated

by
Jun 27, 2001 - Updated Dec 21, 2001 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Roomy, maneuverable, comfortable, loaded.
Cons: Can't lock gas cap, Need to lift hood to lift wipers, Some dislike its looks
The Bottom Line: Great car, great price. Shut up and drive it, you'll like it. It's the truth. 2k2 models are a bit more conservative looking, looks shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Everybody talks about how ugly the Aztek is. How wierd and laughable it is. I bet none of the naysayers have driven one, ridden one or even sat in one, well I have the truth right here. The very first time I saw an Aztek on the television, I ... read more
