Pros: Cute, inexpensive car. Cons: Noisy, tinny, lightweight. The Bottom Line: There are good points to this car and bad. It maneuvered well enough and got us where we were going with no problems but I can't recommend it.
On a recent trip to Las Vegas we rented at 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. My husband and I both drove it for 5 days and independently came to the same conclusion about this car which isn't terribly positive nor terribly negative. The car has its pros and cons....

Pros: Oh so pretty - handles with ease Cons: Slow on the go The Bottom Line: As a survivor of a car accident in this little hotty of a car - I whole-heartedly recommend the 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. It is a tough pretty baby!
Ok - so you may have questions as to why I named my review - "Come on baby - you can do it!" The fact is I love my Pontiac Sunfire - but he needs a little cajoling every once in a while to speed up from a dead stop, or make it up a hill. There have...

Pros: Sporty, Smooth ride! Good gas mileage! AMAZING factory AM/FM/CD player sound system! Cons: Vehicle has no extras included, but these items are available as options on these models. The Bottom Line: Terrific car for sport and for family. Great looks, great ride, great sound! I love my Sunfire!!!
(Quicksilver is what I call my new car.. she's silver, and pretty quick, too... plus I watch that show, Invisible Man. I know, I'm a geek. So sue me! :)
I purchased the 2001 Pontiac Sunfire 4 Door Sedan SE Automatic on October 12th, 2001....

Pros: Sporty, great gas mileage, awesome stereo, roomy Cons: on the highway there is a light roar if the stereo isn't on The Bottom Line: This car is great for those that want a sporty car but dont want to shell out an arm and a leg for gas money
Well this is my first car that I've owned but my parents have gone through a few over the years. I really like this car because of its sporty look and its great gas mileage. I have the 2.2L, 4cyl, 4dr, 3spd automatic version of this car; it didn't come ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, air bags / anti-lock brakes, sharp looking, inexpensive Cons: Some corners have been cut, some components have been cheaply manufactured The Bottom Line: Great car for the price, offers good safety features and plenty of extra inside. Not a bad car for the price.
For Starters
We've recently went on a real vehicle spending binge (as you may notice if you look at my recent reviews). We're no longer within walking distance of work and my old car, which was the only one we had at the time, conveniently...

Pros: Compact, large storage spaces, 5 cup holders!, awesome CD player, great gas mileage Cons: seats are ugly, no power windows! ughh!, makes creaking noise when turning. The Bottom Line: It really depends on what your looking for in a car. If you want all the accesories and stuff don't buy it.
When they say sunfire... are they talking about how great it is when your stepping on the gas trying to get up to speed? That's one thing I hate about this car. It takes forever to accelerate in this thing! I like the original AM/FM/CD player. It has so...

Pros: amazing stock stereo system is about the only pro I can think of! Cons: seats squeak, very noisy car The Bottom Line: I don't think anybody should buy this car. You may like it at first, but after a while, you'll understand the problems we've been having.
Anyone who is looking for a car...don't look at this one! I have never seen a car so horrible! My fiance bought this car brand new in 2001. He bought the GT model with all the bells and whistles. It only has 45,000km on it and it's now 2.5 years old. He b ...

Pros: Fast Acceleration, comfortable seats, low mateanance Cons: no power locks/trunk release, bad sound suppression from outside car
The Bottom Line: A good car, but if i had waited 2 months i could have purchased a 2003 new at same price
I recently purchased this car after having totaled my 90 doge spirit due to bad road conditions and all in all i am decently satisfied, the car has had no major problems in the 14 months i have owned it (the biggest was the first 2 setting on the fan did...

Pros: sporty, economical Cons: none that I can see
There is a very definite reason why you see so many Sunfire's on the road...they are sporty and economical cars. The 2001 model is no exception to this.
I have a very personal story regarding a 2001 Sunfire, because I survived an accident with...

Pros: cute, economical, good stereo, good on gas Cons: no ashtray?! Would have liked a trunk latch or button in the car The Bottom Line: I would definately recommend it to frugal people, but not to someone that is used to driving a Lexus or Maxima. You would be disappointed.
4-door sedan. The definately cut some corners inside the car. (slightly visible foam spacers for noise reduction, carpet barely covers back floorboard under the seat. )Otherwise, am very happy with this car considering it's the newest car I've ever...

Pros: Roomy, Stylish and Economical Cons: Not a ton of options! The Bottom Line: Great Car at a Great Price!!!
I purchased this great car after my 1991 Olds Cutlass died out on my (timing belt!!!)way to work. I had been eyeing the 2001 sunfire for some time and did my research to discover that it was well received by mechanics and technicians as well as car...

Pros: looks control great on gas all around good car. Cons: none that I can find
2 years ago i owned a 1998 Sun Fire, I loved it but I thought I wanted something else, so I sold it. I wanted to kick myself for it. So last week I got a 2001 Sun Fire.
This car handles the same way the 98 did,but with more up and go. Not only that I feel in love with this one because of the decals on it.
The Sun Fires are like little tanks in Snow and they are a very reliable car.

Pros: Sporty, roomy for 2 door compact car, nice stereo system Cons: Slow and rough acceleration, cheap interior
my sunfire is my first car and so far its been a pretty reliable car. it has bout 130000 miles on it and still going strong. i really wish it would accelerate a little easier and wouldnt feel so rough while trying to do so. The door paneling is also a con because its made so cheap. overall its a fun car to drive and can be very fast.

Pros: great radio, sunroof Cons: no radio controls on the steering wheel
ive had my sunfire now for 3 and a half years. It was purchased new in 2001, during the warranty period i racked up about 3000 dollars in repairs and since (touch wood) its been very reliable. I have 86,991 miles on it or 140 000 kms, i run the car a lot. it runs very well with the high mileage it has. The 27 000$ canadian price tag for the loaded gt i have was a bit much but its a good car. I bought it because of past experience with the j body my 1992 sunbird is now owned by a neigbor and has 198,838 miles on the dial and still going strong (march 05)
by the way the radio is excellent and is a great help on my 14 hour white castle runs from montreal to detroit. there were a couple of fitment issues with the dash
