I NEED a Family Car - But I WANT a Sports Car!

by shurie
Jun 07 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: : Great value for the money. A family car with a sporty feel.
Cons: Mushy gas pedal. Poor rear visibility when parking (if you order the spoiler).
The Bottom Line: If you want a midsize car with a sporty attitude and a low sticker price, give the Saturn L-300 a serious look. I think you’ll like what you see!

Are you one of the many people who need a four-door family car, but would rather have a sports car? Do you want to save a little money in the bargain? Then the Saturn L-300 may be the car for you.

When the lease on my previous vehicle ran out...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: The price, safety and many standard features!
Cons: None at all

I fell in utter lust with the 2000-L series Saturn. It was a beautiful car, but I’m always skeptical on purchasing a first year model car. I’m so glad we waited. We dropped by for an oil change for our 1999 S Saturn and spotted the new...

Unloved when new, L200 is outstaning value used

by lawman67 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200
Nov 19 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Cheap on the used market, comfortable, efficient, reliable
Cons: Horrible resale value, some chap materials
The Bottom Line: Considered mediocre when new, the L200 is perhaps the best sedan in its price class as a 6year-old used car. Just avoid the 2000 models, they had tny gas tanks.

This is my second review of the 2001 Saturn L200, which I though was appropriate as the first one, written almost 6-years-ago, was of a new car compared to other new cars. This review, in contrast, is of a 6-year-old car with over 90,000 miles on the ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: great on gas, easy to drive
Cons: touchy breaks, uncomfortable seats
The Bottom Line: Research other models before buying a Saturn. You can get a cheaper car that is much more comfortable.

Last year I had my mind set on buying a new Saturn LX Series. I had decided on a Saturn for the style, gas mileage, safety rating, and price. I loved the ability to order through their website and have the car delivered to me. After some more deep...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: rich looking, plenty of equipment and comfort
Cons: no supercharged or turbo version available

The new L series Saturn is more than people realize. The l300 series is only a rename of saying LS2. Same for the rest. Ls1 is the L100 and LS2 is the L200. I am focusing on the L300 I saw at the 2001 auto show last night. I have driven the LS2...

LW200--Time to upgrade?

by jborourke
Jun 26 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good value. Nice features. Roomy.
Cons: Seats aren't ideal.
The Bottom Line: It's a great option in the middle-size car/minivan/small SUV market. If you have a couple of kids, and a lot of junk to haul, it's the one!

I'm Saturn's target market for the mid-size car. 31, married, child. Owner of a couple of SL2s. Need a bigger car.

I'm happy to say, that if I'm the market Saturn wanted, then they did a nice job offering what I need. I have been ready for a...

I Love Driving This Car!

by cja7fun
Feb 07 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: This Saturn is attractive, comfortable, quiet, gets good gas mileage and is reasonably priced.
Cons: The windshield wipers and heating system of this car frustrate me.
The Bottom Line: This car is worth your consideration. It is reliable, easy to maintain, gas efficient, comfortable, maneuverable, spacious, quiet, starts immediately, and drives smoothly.

I knew this little 200l L200 Saturn was the car I was going to buy the first time I noticed it in a used car lot. I fell in love with it. The price was reasonable and I was attracted to its smooth, flowing contour and creamy white color. I had a habit of ...

Saturn L300 - Great value!

by bsproles
Nov 07 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: * Powerful 3.0L V6 engine * Great Stereo * Polymer Panels
Cons: * Fair gas mileage * Some parts of interior could be built better
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a well-built, midsize family sedan, definitely consider a Saturn L Series. I highly recommend the L300 for its superior engine.

My Story...

I was in the market for a new vehicle, but I didn't really know what I wanted. I had
heard that the Toyota Corolla was a reliable car, so I went to try one of those first.
Well, I'm 6'1" tall (1.85 meters), and I...

Grown Up Saturn

Oct 23 '00 - Updated Feb 03 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Looks Great, V-6, Value, No Pressure Sales
Cons: Sparse Interior, Some Road Noise
The Bottom Line: European ride, handling and build quality at an American price. It lacks flair, but then again it is a Saturn -LW300 is the best looking member of the Saturn family.

Ten years ago, October 24, 1990, just after midnight, the first Saturn was sold in California. This “little car company that could” has come a long way since then, and yet they haven’t come far at all. It’s easy to see why people love these little...

Pros: Awesome acceleration, great turning, user control location
Cons: Lock actuators, leak in block, power steering rack, fuel pump, more...
The Bottom Line: I recommend the small sedan over the large.

I bought the 2001 Saturn L300 new off the lot in December 2000, should have turned around and checked in my 30 day guarantee. They handed me the keys to the car where the tire pressure in each tire was 10 lbs under pressure, this was winter-time. Drivi ...

Pros: aweosme milegae .... great price
Cons: nothing
The Bottom Line: I recommend this car for its reliability and convenience.

I recently purchased the stationwagon 2001-L series Saturn in dark blue. It's a gorgeous car, I’m usually careful on purchasing a first year model car, but I new I had to have this car as soon as I layed eyes on it. The price on this car is something...

Luxury in a Saturn???

by TmoonMan
Nov 10 '00

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Good all around car, good value
Cons: It's just a regular old car. Nothing luxurious about it.

Well, she did it. After 12 years of puttering around in her old '88 Toyota pickup, my mother decides that she needs a family car. I ask her why, as I have been out of the house going on ten years now, and she smiles and says, "Why, I have...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Spacious, roomy, nice interior, good value for your money
Cons: Weird window button location, can't unlock doors using key in front passenger door
The Bottom Line: For a used car, the 2001 Saturn L200 is a great bargain: Nice options, spacious, good maneuverability, low maintenance requirements.

After a year of living with just one car, my husband and I finally decided to get a second car. We had already been pre-approved for a car loan and had the check in hand, so it was just a matter of finding something that suited our needs as well as our ...

2001 L300 Sedan w/ Saab V6 Engine-A Tale of Two Cars

by heloflyer
Jan 06 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: SAAB V6 engine, Nimble handling, Leather heated seats and and many safety features
Cons: Electrical failures and many trips to the dealership, the Steering Racks break after 90,000 miles
The Bottom Line: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on wheels-You need to drink the Saturn Kool-Aid to love this one. Drives great when it works.

After owning the Saturn L300 Sedan for almost five years, I think it would have been better to have named it the Saturn Jekyll-Hyde sedan. One moment it is a smooth running European sedan and the next it is a nightmare of warning lights and ...

Saturn L-200....you'll love it!!

by beldorf
Nov 16 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good MPG, stylish, roomy, comfortable.
Cons: Currently must do oil change at dealership.
The Bottom Line: I've had this car for 5 months and 10,000 miles. I love it. There are a couple things I'd change, but nothing major. This is a great car!

I bought my L-200 in June 2001. The 2002 were coming out in July, so they were motivated to move the remaining 2001 inventory. I got 0.9% financing to make an attractive car have an even more attractive financing deal.

Man, I love this car....
