Pros: V-8 power, acceleration, smooth, size, leather interior Cons: fuel economy, backseat space, narrow frame The Bottom Line: If you do a lot of work like hauling stuff it's powerful and reliable. The work of the truck is as good as the looks of the truck too.
The Tundra was my first vehicle. I got it during the beginning of my senior year of high school. It was used but an excellent choice of a teenager girl, especially when I was living in a rural area where there's a lot of locations to go four-wheeling, ...

Pros: Safe, comfortable and versatile truck. Baby/toddler seat installs with ease and is secure. Cons: Rear seat can be uncomfortable after long periods of sitting. But what seat isn't? The Bottom Line: My recommendation is that you shop around. I can almost assure you that this truck will be on your short list. Best in class when it comes to safety.
The 2001 Toyota Tundra is probably the safest truck on the road. That alone is a good reason to buy this truck. The interior is roomy (even the back seat). My complaint with the back seat is not the size (it is a full size rear seat, or close to it). ...

Pros: Lots of power, drove like a car Cons: Transmission problem, O2 sensor problem The Bottom Line: If you buy a used one, make sure you can get the extended warranty that will cover the transmission.
After just 2 years and 69K miles, I started having transmission problems. I really thought I'd own this truck "til the wheels fell off". I made the mistake of not getting the extended warranty to cover the truck until 100K miles. My thought process wa ...

Pros: Smooth, Powerful and with the quality of Toyota Cons: Backseat and factory tires The Bottom Line: You will be pleased. Form, fit and function. It has it all!
I purchased my 2001 Toyota Tundra SR-5 Access Cab (4.7 L V8) approximately 45000 miles ago. The truck rides well and I have no complaints about the acceleration nor the handling. The engine and transmission combination is silky smooth but powerful...

Pros: STRONG,FAST,SMOOTH,VERY OFFROAD CAPABLE, RELIABLE, COMFORTABLE Cons: The door material is fuzzy and fuzzballs and pet hair sticks to it. The Bottom Line: It can do anything anyother half ton can do, and it does it faster, quieter, and doesn't take up as much space.
I bought My 2001 V8 TRD Tundra a year and 3/4 ago. It has 42,000 miles on it, and I am throughly impressed with this truck. It has all the power I need to pass when and where I want, even towing a loaded trailor. The biggest load I pulled yet was about...

Pros: Quiet Ride, Smooth Accelaration, Safe Cons: Mininmal refinements: Squeaky Dash, Center Console Height, Turning Radius The Bottom Line: Definately the truck for the discriminating truck buyer and those that work'em. In the city or off-road this truck is near perfect not to mention it's a second year model.
I have owned my truck for 2 years now and expect that I will own it atleast another 8. I drove all trucks from the major 3 and fell in love with the Tundra. All it took was a 20 minute ride on the various roadways. I was sold on it's smooth, quiet...

Pros: V8 has good power Cons: Squeaks way too much The Bottom Line: Overall the truck has been great. The service needs work.
My Tundra will not stop squeaking and popping. I have been to the dealer 4 times and all they will do is lube the leaf springs. Finally on the 4th visit they tell me they are not going to fix the problem because Toyota will not reimburse them for...

Pros: World class engine, truly well built, seamless four wheel drive Cons: Poor visibility from side view mirrors, accelerator pedal position, interior appointment spartan The Bottom Line: Every bit a Toyota in reliability, some compromises perhaps in other areas such as interior space.
The 2001 Tundra is a pick-up truck that has come of age. Its predecessor, the T-100, was not a deadbeat. It certainly was a Toyota product in styling and reliability, but perhaps it didn't make the grade for the North American half-ton and up truck...

Pros: fit and finish, best looking truck on the road Cons: lurchy transmission, weak brakes, needs a crew cab model. The Bottom Line: The Tundra is the highest quality truck since the Land Cruiser. you can't go wrong here.
I bought my first brand new vehicle ever last year, a black Toyota Tundra Access cab V8. The truck is assembled here in the US, with power train built in supplied by Japan. the 240 HP (Ca model) has plenty of power when you need it, and the thing rides...

Pros: Plenty of room, and nice ride quality. Cons: Questionable quality. The Bottom Line: A great truck to sit in and look at. Since it is still dead, I can not tell you what happens when it is driven.
Let me start by saying that one persons problems do not necessarily mean everyone will have the same issues. Just the same ..
We purchased a 2001 Toyota Tundra at the beginning of July in Seattle. We drove it down to Bandon, Oregon right...

Pros: Safe, Great Power, Stylish, Toyota quality. Not everyone owns one (yet). Cons: A little pricey, smaller than others in back seat. The Bottom Line: Holds its own with the big boys. If you buy one now, you'll be on the front end of what is going to be a popular truck.
Buying a truck can be a trying experience. Everyone and their brother (sister, mother, father, pet hamster) drives an F-150. Those that don't (the Ford haters) stick with the Chevys and Dodges. All good trucks. Recently, another truck seems to be...

Pros: Safety, durability and strength; Comfort, looks and design; V8 Cons: Price and rear-seat The Bottom Line: If you want to own a vehicle that will help instill your own values and taste in your kids, you will want to try this 2001 Toyota Tundra.
If Ford has a bestseller with its F-150 pickup truck, Toyota has claimed the top position when it comes to safety-related crash tests performed by by the insurance industry. For many truck buyers, they did not have to wait for the Insurance Institute for...

Pros: acceleration, comfort, looks Cons: price, small bed The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a new truck, at least give the Toyota Tundra a test drive. It is a great truck despite the cost.
My father had a huge, full-sized Chevrolet. It was a 1993, so it was getting a bit old. No air conditioner, no radio and it randomly would shut off even while driving down the interstate. Needless to say, he got rid of it, especially having his last...

Pros: Reliability, handsome, head-turner, quiet, powerful, overall quality Cons: Only a few models, higher priced The Bottom Line: For reliability, ride and looks, the Tundra is unbeatable.
To my mind, I could do nothing worse when purchasing a truck than pick an unreliable lemon. And trucks that are lemons do exist. Some trucks have, from time to time, serious electrical, mechanical and handling problems. In short, if your truck won't...

Pros: Amazing value, velvety V-6, excellent brakes, great fit and finish, Cons: rides like a truck The Bottom Line: The Tundra is an amazing value. It is well thought out and does everything well. The V-6 is smooth and strong. The brakes are exceptional. It is extremely durable.
I went looking for a bottom line work truck. I am a tile contractor and I use and abuse my trucks. I don't like getting too attached because it slows down my production. Unfortunately I easily became attached to my Tundra. I have nothing but praise for...
