Pros: Performance, Price, Engine, 6 speed transmission, Fuel economy Cons: Dated design, Tiny back seat space, Cheap leather The Bottom Line: With Power everywhere, great gas mileage, good price, the 2002 Z28 is recommend for most muscle car enthusiasts, although if you are focused on comfort, you might want to pass.
Since the 1960s, Mustang vs Camaro battles have been raging! Both cars were going strong in the 1990's, but alas, the Camaro and the Firebird, due to their lagging sales have been dropped from the Chevy line-up for the '2003 model year.

Pros: Great power and cornering ability, reliable, comfortable, beautiful Cons: Some maintenance is difficult, large turning radius, stereo is weak. The Bottom Line: Great vehicle for the driving enthusiast, fun on long trips, reliable.
I'll tell you all the things I love about this car as opposed to telling why any competitors’ cars suck. The driver's seat holds me like a cradle. I slide in behind the steering wheel relaxed and poised for adventure. The seat's leather is soft but ...

Pros: Power, power and more power, great handling, good fuel economy Cons: Dated interior, this is your last chance to get one new The Bottom Line: Do us all a favor and just read the review.
Three hundred and five.
That's how many horses are under your right foot.
It's a little intimidating at first, sitting in the low-slung driver's seat and looking out over that hood. You don't really know how it's going to behave....

Pros: Remarkable "Bang for the Buck" value, user-friendly horsepower, agressive exterior appearance, handling, acceleration. Cons: Not very practical, but if you were looking for practicality, you wouldn't be reading this. The Bottom Line: My final recommendation on the '02 Camaro SS would be...why are you still reading this?! You should be out trying to find one for sale! Good luck.
I would like to start off this review by saying that in a million years, I would never have thought that I'd be able to afford such an incredible car. It is extremely inexpensive for what the car offers its owner. Let me put it in dollar amounts...

Pros: Sleek, Handling is very tight, fast Cons: NO back-seat to speak of. The Bottom Line: All in all this is a sound buy for the Camaro lover. This is the last year of production of all.
The 2002 Z28 has to be the one of the best sports cars for the year. The 5.7L 310HP V8 with the 6 speed manual transmission gets you 0-60 in about 5.3 seconds and only requires you to shift into 2nd. (Speaking from personal experience.) The biggest...

Pros: best bargain for horsepower,
handling and performance,
smoke any mustang Cons: discontinued,
manufacturer "defect" in stick shift
expensive insurance The Bottom Line: Get one while you still can and don't hesitate. How many people can actually say they enjoy their daily commute? Driving this car is the highlight of my day!
UPDATE: I've had my Z28 for a little over a year now and have put over 20K miles on it. It is VERY addictive to drive. So far, I've had no problems whatsoever with it. I will update the review if I have any problems. My past experience with Camaros ...

Pros: Fast, Sleek, Comfortable seats for a sports car, radio! Cons: Bulky, tight steering, VERY little space The Bottom Line: Single? Want a sports car? This car is for you!
Couldn't resist the 2.9% financing and my wife wanted a new sports car. So the Chevy dealership offered me a lot for my trade in and took $2000 off the price of the car. So, how do I like it now? For the price I paid 18,900, I like it. I like it a...

Pros: Well equipped base model, 200hp cast iron V6. Drives like a real car should (fun). Cons: Limited interior space. Cloth upholstery seems to be of marginal quality The Bottom Line: A great driving car that looks great, check one out before they are discontinued. You could spend a lot more and not get anymore smiles per gallon.
In over 35 years of driving I finally found myself in a situation where a brand new car made sense. An employer touting the GM Supplier pricing arrangement, GM's incessant $2002 overdrive commercials, and my seven years of old GM card earnings got the...

Pros: powerful, fast, beautiful design, great gas mileage, surprisingly great headroom front&backseats and I'm 6' Cons: bad rear visibility, "normal" car owners have trouble getting in The Bottom Line: If you have a garage/good parking area, don't sit straight up, and like low-slung cars, get a Camaro. It's a great car if you are used to it.
My 35th Anniversary Edition Camaro SS is amazing. It is amazingly fast, beautiful, and makes me happy everytime I look at it. The stripes really pull it all together, it looks incredibly intimidating. As far as sports cars go, there are two snake-like ...

Pros: A new standard in performance value. Cons: Can't think of one.... The Bottom Line: There's nothing like V8 rear-wheel-drive performance.
I bought a new Firebird Formula V8 5-speed in 1989. That car has been a joy beyond all expectations, my daily driver for 13 years. This year I reluctantly decided to buy a new 2002 F-body to replace it, because this appears to be my last chance to buy a...

2002 Camaro, Last year in line for Camaro. Now if you were as so lucky to get one, or thinking about getting one. Do it. They come with a Nice Stock Horsepower. Only problem? Engine space. Most people look under a hood and gag when they see most the...

I bought this car because it was the last Camaro and I wanted to have one of the last of the rock & roll cars as a collectors item. I dont drive it every day or in the rain or snow for that matter. But when I do its a lot of fun. Just...

Pros: push the right pedal, come off the clutch and watch the speedometer climb to 60mph Cons: Interior, cheap plastic in trunk area,no room in b/s,cop's eye candy,1st-4th skip shift
I just got my hands on a 2002 chevrolet ss camaro it was all worth the time to find. I drive this car and every head turns from either the look, the sound,or the acceleration. 1 thing i do not like about this car is the chevy mainstay of interior, you look at my parents 98 grand am and my 02 ss same exact interior.Come on chevy it's time to make a new interior. The best part of this car is its ability to get in the fastlane on the freeway from the ramp in a blink of an eye. I personaly do not want chevy to come back with the camaro for the simple fact that it makes mine worth even more. this is an unbelievable car im 19 and in the airforce so I bought it when I seen the car on the local car lot,I could not let it pass through my fingers. If anyone knows how many of the 02 camaro ss where produced please post it I would be gratefull

2002 Z28: Best Mass-Produced Camaro Ever!

Author's Product Rating:
Recommended: Yes
Pros: Looks, style, power, handling and mostly pricing! Cons: Lack of the LS6 (405HP) engine as a last year option for the Camaro.
Without question, the 2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is the best Camaro ever mass-produced (available to the general public through any Chevrolet dealership) over the 35-year production run. With LS1 power (310-345HP and tuner packages to 380HP) and rare LS6 power (400 HP) in a few units, 6-Speed double overdrive manual transmission, performance ride and handling suspension, 500-watt 8-speaker tunes and a host of other performance, comfort and safety equipment...simply adds up to the absolute "best bang for the buck" ever! EPA mileage ratings for the LS1/6-speed combo are an incredible 19mpg-City and 28mpg-Highway. I have consistently averaged 14-16 in the City and 24-26 on the highway, with my best ever highway being 28.34mpg.

POWER and Mileage....WOW, what a car!!

Pros: The Great's, Power, mileage, seats, transmission, Monsoon Stereo. Cons: Little. Brakes wearing faster than liked. Window distortions.
I've had my 2002 Z-28 LS1 6-Speed since August of 2003. What a great ride. This car gets up and goes when you want it to and can cruise the mountains of West Virginia at 80mph with ease at 28mpg. I get 21-22mpg as a daily driver to work each day, 13 miles one-way. I don't run it over 3000rpm much and I've already got 47000 miles on it.
One repair, a catalytic converter under warranty at 33,000 miles, brakes at 38,000, and Got rid of the Goodyear GSA's at 39,000.
