Pros: Fun to drive. Comfortable. Easy to remove and arrange back seats for cargo.
Cons: Visablity, large blind spot on the drivers left side.
The Bottom Line: This is an all around great car. Fun to drive. Very reliable.

When I first saw the Pt Cruiser I fell in love. IT was so classic yet with modern comforts. My sister and I both looked back and said what is that. Then when I was married, the limo my mother in law rented for us happened to be a stretch Cruiser. It was ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Decent gas mileage, nice storage options, comfortable, nice ac/heater
Cons: front bottoms out, no cruise control, BLIND SPOTS, no power
The Bottom Line: Its a decent car, you can find better, you can find worse.

My 2002 PT is a cute little car with great storage ideas *folding rear seats!* and a unique look. It gets decent gas mileage , somewhere around the mid 20s, however I was told by the dealership it would get 30. I bought it used about three years ago ... read more

Cute, but not a great overall vehicle

by
Jun 13, 2007 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Cute car, head room, cargo space
Cons: Poor on ice and snow. Transmission, repairs just cost more than other cars.
The Bottom Line: It is a good around town car for looks and pep, but it is not a highway car.

When I hit a deer two years ago, I needed a new car quickly. I found my 2002 PT Cruiser at a great price, but I have found that I have easily spent that money I thought I saved to keep it running. I had to rebuild the transmission this year for $2500. ... read more

Many PROBLEMS with my 2002

by
Jan 2, 2007 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Retro 1930s look and cargo space
Cons: Many mechanical problems after 4 years
The Bottom Line: Before you buy one check out the service bulletins, than show them to the salesman. See if they'll knock down the price.

I bought mine new and the first 4 years were good, except for the brakes squealing. I think there was a recall, but I wasn't notified. I was disappointed with the gas mileage also. The first problem (2005) was the transmission leaking fluid. The ... read more

by
Nov 13, 2006 - Updated Nov 14, 2006 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Looks good, runs well, comfortable, good mileage.
Cons: The air conditioning system will mold and mildew and your car will stink forever.
The Bottom Line: Be cautious with the PT Cruiser. The air conditioning system can mold and mildew causing a terrible odor. The car is now ruined, why chance it happening to you?

I really enjoyed driving my little cruiser. I don't drive it too often, but enough. It is comfortable, easy to handle, and has pretty good pick-up. The seats are comfortable, stereo system is just fine. *** PROBLEM *** AIR CONDITIONING UNIT IS FLAWED ... read more

The Bottom Line: Love the PT Cruiser, but may not buy another Chrysler product due to their Customer Assistance Department

I LOVE the PT Cruiser. Its a fun little car to drive around. We live in Iowa so I Love the heated seats. The seats are positioned up so you don't feel like you are seated on the ground and it is an easy car to get in and out of. It has a couple of ... read more

Jan. 2002 After my recent crash I've been looking at new cars. For several years I've drooled over the cute little PT Cruiser but I can't and won't learn how to drive a stick. Today hubby and I went and test-drove a new Camry which was nice and ... read more

Least reliable new car I've ever owned.

by
Oct 13, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: The car looks cool!
Cons: Poor reliability, visibility, gas mileage, dealer service, resale value.
The Bottom Line: Unfortunately, I highly recommend you avoid this car based on our experience. It had a lot of problems for a new vehicle, and the dealership was not supporting it well.

PT Cruisers are cute looking little cars. Our experience with the car, and the large Phoenix area Chrysler dealership that we bought it from is that it is a horrible vehicle to own. In 40 years of car ownership, with at least 12 new cars and numerou ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Lots of space, looks great, fun to drive.
Cons: The interior is funky, too many shades of taupe and the dashboard rattles!
The Bottom Line: If you want spacious, fun, and sexy but need something safe that doesn't cost you your first born, buy one!

Ok, here's my story: I bought my Cruiser on a total impulse. My husband & I walked into the show room, I said, "That's my car." A couple hours later, we drove off the lot in it, and I have not felt an inkling of buyer's remorse yet. ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfortable, good gas mileage, controls, quiet, good handling, smooth ride, solid car.
Cons: Drum brakes in rear, no map lights in rear, only one cup holder for rear
The Bottom Line: What can I say, except "I love this car!" I will buy another when my budget allows for it. Keep improving this one Chrysler!

We had a used 1995 Chevy Blazer for almost three years, and while it was a pretty good vehicle, it was starting to fall apart. We also have a 1991 Acura Integra GS hatchback, that is primarily my car. I have had it for around 6 years, and like it very ... read more

Pros: The Cruiser is very roomy for families, and very comfortable seating.
Cons: Gas mileage is not as advertised and the thrill is short lived.
The Bottom Line: For the average person looking for a practical, economical and dependable car, the Chrysler PT Cruiser does not cut it.

I bought my 2002 PT Cruiser in September of 2001. I was elated with the look, feel and drive of the car, but, my thrill was short lived when I began having problems with the car at 9,000 miles. At 9,000 miles I began smelling something that resembled ... read more

The Bottom Line: A car to be proud of! Make this your next car!

Cons: Turning radius is quite wide.
The Bottom Line: I could easily recommend a PT to someone who wanted a stylish car, with ample power and was actually usable.

I bought my PT on May 3rd, 2002. It was more of an impulse buy than anything. (I had found another oil leak in my old car and decided that I wasn't going to deal with it, and became the happy owner of a PT about five hours after finding an oil leak ... read more

Pros: Would make a great teens first car.
Cons: Doesnt fit all the Barnum circus clowns in it.
The Bottom Line: This car is deffinitly strange.
