Apr 6, 2007 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Gas Saver-fun to drive-sporty looking-folding back seat-easy maintenance-starts everytime
Cons: very quick shift from 1st to 2nd-takes bumps and chuck holes kindof hard
The Bottom Line: Great car. If U take care of it, it will take car of U. Feed it and love it. Watch ones people have abused they can bite back.

My Accent is the L version with a manual 5 speed. For those of you who don't know, the L is the cheapest model. I love this car. Unfortunately a lady whacked me in the side of it. It held up very well. I was really surprised. Fun to drive. I like ... read more

Jan 15, 2006 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: 30 MPG, Small car maneuverability, Simplicity. Good commuter car
Cons: Very poor handling and braking with tire and wheel package. MPG was downgraded after purchase.
The Bottom Line: AS IS, good for a mildly driven commuter car. Poor tires and excessive body roll.

As purchased, the car handled fine in normal day to day driving. HOWEVER, hard breaking and mildly sharp terms, even at 50 MPH, caused unacceptable body roll and instability for my comfort. After spending $500 for better tires and wheels ... read more

Jan 13, 2006 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Economical to buy and drive, easy maneuverability, fantastic warranty
Cons: Four major warranty repairs last year
The Bottom Line: Recommended but with caution. Read through many reviews before deciding.

This is my second Hyundai. The first was the '89 Excel, which lasted a good long time despite its reputation. In 2002, I needed a small, economical car for putting around town. After doing some research, I decided on a slightly used (only 5,000 miles) ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Dependable, doesn't feel cheap, peppy.
Cons: Could be a little roomier.
The Bottom Line: It's a reliable, yet cheap car. It's a car you can depend on, it won't kill you on gas and it doesn't feel cheap.

My husband and I purchased our Hyundai Accent brand new on January 1st 2002. We were looking for a daily-driver. We needed something we could drive the 40 mile round trip commute to and from work every day. We also needed something that could handle ... read more

Oct 6, 2005 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Peppy, easy steering, relatively low road noise, cleans up good under previous neglect and dirt.
Cons: Plastics on door handles and steering wheel fading/deteriorating. Factory sound system sounds cheap.
The Bottom Line: This is a fun to drive little car that holds up for a cheapy. The low road noise speaks volumes.

Aren't gas prices just awesome lately? As of this writing, gas is $2.99 a gallon for regular unleaded here in the St. Louis area of Missouri. These prices have greatly influenced my decision to find a smaller car; used...and cheap! My typical trek to ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Cute, air/heat are good, cheep, good on gas; stock speakers
Cons: Loud; unsure about saftey; high maintence; bad service departments
The Bottom Line: Good car for a young single person,or anyone on a tight budget. I rank this above average, becasue you get alot for what you paid.

I bought my Hyundai Accent new in June of 2002. After 2.5 years and 40,000 miles, I still believe it was a good purchase. I bought this car becasue I was a senior in college and was about to start an internship 75 miles away from where I was living, ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, fuel economy, reliability, value.
Cons: Road noise. Lack of power options.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a good, reliable, economical, used car. Consider a Hyundai.

Are you looking for some decent transportation, but you're a bit short on cash? Look no further than the Hyundai Accent. The present year is 2004, one of our cars breaks down, it'll cost more than the car is worth to repair it; time to get another car. ... read more

The Bottom Line: Not the greatest car out there, but yet satisfying.

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent gas mileage, easy shifting, inexpensive, long waranty
Cons: Limited legroom in back, poor resell value, not good for long road trips
The Bottom Line: Great inexpensive car for getting around town. For the money it is well worth it.

After years of my doors getting dinged and ending up upside down when trading vehicles in, I finally woke up and smelled the coffee and realize that cars are a horrible investment. That's about the time I was passing the Hyundai dealership on the way ... read more

Bottom line: a nice little car

Jul 6, 2002 - Updated Oct 1, 2007 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great on gas, fully loaded yet inexpensive, nice ride
Cons: Damages expensively, resells poorly
The Bottom Line: I drive for a living, and this car meets my standards. You get lots of features for a low price, and the warranty is gravy.

The 2002 Accent is a nice little car. Then again, I was walking before I bought mine (my '84 Pontiac Sunbird threw a rod), so my expectations weren't too high. I deliver pizza, so I needed something dependable and good on gas. Bingo and bingo. ... read more

Apr 18, 2002 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Quick, Responsive, Great Look, Great Gas Mileage, Fun to Drive
Cons: None, I think this car sits at the head of its class
The Bottom Line: The Hyundai Accent GS is the perfect car for its class because of its rock bottom price and at the same time it being a very nice car to own.

I bought my Hyundai Accent 2002 GS model about a month ago, and everything is perfect. I have the power windows, mirrors, door locks, and CD-Player upgrade. This car is the best for the sub-compact category based on its features and price. It looks as ... read more

Jan 19, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: Cheap, fully-featured, great visibility, cruises effortlessly, nicely finished, comfy, smooth at leisurely pace.
Cons: Weak brakes, weak engine, treacherous body roll, squirmy tires, poor crash record.
The Bottom Line: Yeah, it's cheap, fully-featured, and downright nice while poking around town or in steady-state cruise mode. But when the crunch is on, this fair-weather friend is gone.

Anything positive said about this car by other epinionators is probably well-deserved. And I share that appreciation; after all, I bought the car and owned it for 36 hours. It seems truly amazing that for just under $11,000 (including $500 rebate) anyone ... read more

Pros: Excellent gas mileage, Adequate power, Smooth 5-speed transmission.
Cons: Tiny interior, 13" steel wheels.
The Bottom Line: If a Civic/Focus/Neon is out of your price range, but you still want a new car, check out the Accent.

As a replacement for the infamous Hyundai Excel, the Hyundai Accent made its debut in 1995. With an initial 1.5 liter engine with an output of 92 horsepower as the only available engine, power even then, was adequate, and refinement exceeded any ... read more

Cons: Very basic car, no bells and whistles.

I bought this car in 2003. I love it! It has been by far the easiest car to do your own maintenance on. The oil filter is very easy to change. Changing spark plugs and wires takes 20 min. and that includes the time it took me to buy an extension for

I bought my 2002 Accent Gsi in 2002 from the recommendation of a friend. I had driven his before and loved it. I can't believe the power and pep this little car has. If you're single and want a car but don't want to spend much, this is it. Two
