Pros: Beautiful exterior. Nice leather. Decent sound system. Wow factor.
Cons: Sound system could be better. Not very sporty. Seats are hard.
The Bottom Line: Recommended. Beautiful car.

I bought a Black Opal CLK320 Coupe in Nov 2005. Paid $23,500 with 36,000 miles. It was just off a 3 year lease. I had a Nissan Maxima for 11.5 years with 200,000 miles on it so it was time. The Maxima was an amazingly reliable car, great engine, Bose ... read more

Maybe the best Luxury Sports Car?

by
Oct 28, 2003 - Updated Nov 12, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Athletic styling, Pulse quickening acceleration, Brakes that could stop a jet on an aircraft carrier.
Cons: No tilt steering! After owning one you start to think 275HP isn't enough! Yikes!
The Bottom Line: Go ahead, get one. I'm so thoroughly satisfied with this car that it still thrills me everytime i get behind the wheel. Email questions to MtnBikr314@aol.com

Could there be a perfect automobile that bridges the chasm of luxury tourer, nimble sports car, and practical daily driver? Probably one day. For today though this may be it. I have 30,067 miles on the clock so far, and everytime I take the car out for ... read more

The best of the best

by
Mar 8, 2003 - Updated Mar 9, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Wonderful seats with leg room for anyone. Powerful engine with shiftable transmission.
Cons: Lacks in-dash CD changer.
The Bottom Line: The ultimate in comfort, intuitive features, and useful power. This car can easily be enjoyed without ever reading the owner's manual, yet offers a wealth of adjustments for the enthusiast.

My last Mercedes,a 1989 560SEC, had a sticker price of $86,000, yet years later this 2002's sticker was only $94,000. The improvements and refinements are dramatic! I drove a 2003 BMW 745Li for a weekend before going with the Mercedes, and I think I ... read more

Cons: expensive
The Bottom Line: This car has everything you could ever want, i only dont recommend it to people with large families.

This is the FINEST luxury sport coupe in $42K – $75K category. You can’t beat its styling (inside and out), technology, performance, comfort, and size. It is an amazing and satisfying experience to sit in and drive the CLK320 around. I will make any ... read more

2002 S-Class

by
Feb 18, 2002 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Pneumatic Doors and Trunk, Ride is 1st class, handling is asthetic, cathode ray lite gauges
Cons: Quality is terrible, much lighter than predecessor, Price vs. value not good
The Bottom Line: I would wait for the 2003 BMW 745i or opt for the Audi S8 or A8..

The new S-Class doesn't even compare to the last generation S-class. The S-Class has always been synonymous with quality, bulkiness, weight. The new S-class seems to emphasize sport over luxury, and the bulkiness, quality, and weight, have become merky ... read more

...but is it a real Mercedes though?

by
Feb 8, 2002 - Updated Feb 9, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Gimmicks; Drivetrain; Power; Handling; Fit & finish
Cons: Appalling, almost criminal interior material quality and design; ugly dash; poor ergonomics; mundane interior style
The Bottom Line: I'm still convalescing from open wallet surgery but I'm getting to like the car more... which was unexpected! Mercedes could and should do a whole lot better than this.

I took delivery of this S500 first thing on Monday 7th Jan. 2002. It was specified in Almandine black with Java beige interior trim. This is the third Mercedes there's been in my family and the first brand new one. The others were a 300SE (1986) and a ... read more

I like the styling and the performance, CLK 430 may cost much more on gas pump. Where I find the CLK 320 is just fine for my daily use. The traction is great in a snow condition. Had 2 warrenty repair so far, but dealer is very nice and helpful. This ... read more
