Pros: Loads of optional equipment, Variety of trim lines, Handling, Price, Fuel economy. Cons: Price can get steep with options, Blase exterior. The Bottom Line: The 2002 Nissan Sentra represents decent performance and economy at good price.
Redesigned in 2000, the 2002 Nissan Sentra can claim that it is the best Sentra yet. When many of us think of 'Sentra' we think of a Nissan automobile that is used only for point A-B transportation, a weak powertrain matched with the most basic...

Pros: Who ever thought you could have this much fun in a little Nissan? Cons: Not exactly economical--with all this power comes higher insurance, lower MPG. The Bottom Line: More personality and way more power than any Honda in it's class; an actual sports car for way le$$ than you think.
Unlike many (incl. me) who review the cars, I actually own this one. Mine is "Arrest-Me" Red (or Aztec Red in Nissan code--I've had two tickets already) 6 spd manual, Rockford Fosgate system, and controversial "Lava" interior theme. I bought it used ...

Pros: The aggressive-looking front
Low-end torque
Easy-to-use features
Decent trunk space
Cons: Turning radius
Paint Quality
Starting Problem
Low quality tires
The Bottom Line: If you want a car that packs some punch and won't break your bank, this is the car for you.
I'll start out by giving a little history of the cars that I've owned. Most of my cars have been pretty weak and I wanted something fast and fun but not too pricey. I had an 87 Cavalier for my very first car. Then came an 87 Acura Integra, then a 90 ...

Pros: SE-R excellent mix of sport, practicality, and value Cons: One of the few cars with 'character', meaning you'll love it or hate it The Bottom Line: To get anything near the performance and reliability of a SE-R, you'll have to spend $20,000 more.
Let me start by giving you 30 seconds on my history, so you can put the review in context. I've owned small sporty cars (Firefly Turbo), sports cars (RX-7), and now that I'm in my mid-30s, married, with 1 kid, a '97 Ford Taurus LX (w/ 200HP Duratec). I...

Pros: Lots of torque from a 4 cylinder, strong powerband, supurb handling Cons: econobox feel (cheap), could use some sticker tires from factory The Bottom Line: For the money other cars can do the job better. i.e.: Neon SRT-4, Mazdaspeed Protege 5
Let me start off by saying i do not own this car and i did not write this review from a simple one-day test drive. A good friend of mine has had this car for quite a while now; in fact he got the first on off the truck. So in theory i am relating my...

Pros: High torque, good handling, grippy tires, comfortable. Cons: Disappointing stereo, bad shifter, tacky seats. The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a race-inspired car for under $19K fully loaded, you won't be disappointed (especially since there isn't much out there with these specs and at this price).
Personally, I was very excited when I heard Nissan was resurrecting the beloved SE-R. When I found out that it was finally at the dealership, I rushed there to give it a test drive. I wanted to drive their top of the line SE-R, which was the Spec-V,...

Pros: Quick, Fun, Comfortable, Handles great, stylish Skyline front end, and good features. Cons: Clunky 6 speed, but still smooth enough for me. A little bubbly in the back. The Bottom Line: The SE-R Spec V is the funnest car i have ever driven. Best bang for the buck out there.
Ok I wrote a short version of my review yesterday. So now here I go with a new updated version:
I have had my Spec V for about 2 weeks now. Its given me some time to get comfortable with the car.
1) The car is amazingly...

Pros: Great power, Great handling, Great price. Cons: Should get ABS standard on the SER The Bottom Line: With 165 HP, the room of a mid sized sedan, CD player, and 16" wheels....The Sentra sure has come a long way.
My review will be on the Sentra SE R model with Automatic transmission. The SER is equipped with the 2.5l, 4 cylinder, 16 valve, variable valve timing engine, getting the power to the ground via front wheel drive. We paid just over $20,000 (CAN) and I ...

Pros: Nicely appointed interior; sporty exterior; great options Cons: ABS not standard; AC pulls a lot of power The Bottom Line: I encourage you to take a test drive; you won't be disappointed!
In my search for a new car, I closely examined many cars currently available, including the Honda Civic, VW Jetta, Toyota Corolla and the Nissan Sentra. HANDS DOWN, the Sentry was exactly what I wanted.
While the Sentra has a low MSRP in...

Pros: Torquey, more powerful, and better handling than the SE Cons: Overpriced, Lava-coloured seats The Bottom Line: A nearly perfect sport compact 4-door, but plauged by greedy dealers, making it an expensive choice...for now...
Oh my god! It is finally out! IT IS FINALLY OUT! Oh, the excitement!
Oh...is that it?
That was my reaction when I first got the call from my local Nissan dealer that the 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V was available for a...

Pros: Price, MPG, options, styling Cons: Inconsistencies with dealer servicing The Bottom Line: Stylish, comfortable ride, VERY affordable, environmentally friendly, and durable thus far. Watch out for service costs, and think twice before buying it if you haul lots of people around!
As a financially-strapped recent college graduate desperately in need for an affordable replacement for my late, great Beltway Beater, I considered price, fuel efficiency, insurance rates, and of course engine power and stereo system :) when selecting my...

Pros: Excellent build quality, tight handling,
sweet acceleration (5 speed), overall very impressed. Cons: Some very minor interior touches The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car hands down over the 'tinny'Honda Civic, the under powered Mazda Protege'. For the price, it's a great car.
Being the car freak I am, I usually read opinions from several publications before I even look at a car. Motor Trend magazine, Road & Track as well as Consumer Reports and the always informative Lemon Guide by Phil Edmonston are some of those...

Pros: Great value, powerful engine Cons: Clunky shifter The Bottom Line: This is still a great car for the money, despite the clunky shifter.
As an owner of two previous Sentra SER models, the original 1991 and a the final year for the SER’s first incarnation, 1994, I was very interested when Nissan announced the new 2002 models. My first SER was a real bargain, an aztec red demonstrator with...

Pros: Quick, sporty, affordable, Nissan reliability. Cons: Still haven't found any. The Bottom Line: Beautiful styling, good colors, a lot of bang for the buck.
I just took delivery of my new Spec-V on May 22, 2002. I bought the Vibrant Blue version, although I almost didn't because of the red and black interior. It turns out, however, that there is an available black leather seat upgrade that can be had and...

Pros: acceleration, cornering, mileage, value Cons: transmission, torque steering The Bottom Line: Great car for performance on a budget that will still haul the whole family.
I have owned my 2002 Nissan Sentra SE/R Spec V for almost 2 years and have put about 35,000 miles on it. I love this car! It has great acceleration and cornering, and gets nice gas mileage as well. I typically get around 31mpg. My driving is a mix of ...
