Pros: AWD Versatrek, versatility, camping packages, bold styling, stereo, ride, handling, braking Cons: blind spot in rear window, could use a bit more power with AWD The Bottom Line: The Aztek is a great buy, and should be considered on any shopping list. Why buy a butter knife when you can buy the Swiss Army Knife of SUVs?
When Pontiac originally introduced the Aztek I think they were going for a younger market... the average buyer has been in the mid 40s. I fit the intial target market, being in my mid 20s.
I was really happy to see that Pontiac was fixing...

Pros: Price, versatility, ride Cons: Ugly, uglier, ugliest The Bottom Line: This is the best vehicle available. Pontiac styled it in such a way that the world may never know.
The Final Decision
In our on-going quest (my wife and mine) to find a new vehicle for us and our two children, we started out looking at minivans. All of the minivan owners we’ve talked to love their vehicles. We had the following...

Pros: Very Unique, cargo room, comfort, best in class, mileage, too many to list. Cons: Spoiler detracts from rear view, constant questions! The Bottom Line: This is a great vehicle that anyone will love!
!!UPDATE!! I've had this car for over 6 months now, I've put 8500 trouble free miles on it. They haven't been the easiest miles one could put on a car, yet this car is just like it was when I took delivery in December 01. I haven't been back to the...

Pros: The luxury for the price! Cons: Hmmm. None yet, but will update ASAP if I find any. ;) The Bottom Line: Check it out the new looks of the 2002! **UPDATE- now get $2,002 rebate with 2002 Aztec!!!
*UPDATE---If you want this car, NOW is the time to buy it! GM just came out today (Jan. 4, 02) with 2,002 rebate on the 2002 Aztec! I had a feeling there would be a rebate soon since car buying season is over. TAKE ADVANTAGE! Luckily, I still get the...

Pros: Does everything but sit up and beg! Roomy, roomy, roomy and a reasonable price. Cons: Strangers will harrass you due to its ugli...er, uniqueness. The Bottom Line: If you can get beyond the appearance, you will love this vehicle! It has tons of room and lots of cool gadgets for a surprisingly reasonable price.
Blaring horns. Staring people. Shouts of “Get that piece of #!$@ off the road!”
These are the sort of reactions that my 2002 Pontiac Aztek has inspired since I bought it a week ago.
But I don’t care…I love my Aztek! Yes, it took me...

Pros: Performance.Room. Flexible Interior storage. Reliability. Economy. Low price. Unique styling. Cons: High Depreciation. Unique Styling. The Bottom Line: Buy it and drive it 10 years. Depreciation, its only fatal flaw, won't matter in ten years.
Can't be beat for room, mpg, comfort at the price of a new Kia Rio.
My wife and I have always loved the look of the Aztek. It's very of 1950s-'60s "car of the future" kitschy, inside as well as out( Note how the shapes and positions of the side defrosters and outboard dash registers mimic those of the parking lights and ...

Pros: Value for Price. Cons: Only 3 year/36000 mile warranty which I will run through in about 16 months. The Bottom Line: Changed rating in 2006. I still love it, but we are begining to experience problems requiring a mechanic with some frequency.
For the last three years, we had been a one-car family. And considering that one car is a 1969 VW, long road trips were not in our vocabulary. With a new job and a 50-mile commute, it was time to get a new car. Going Shopping We looked at a ...

Pros: Perfect Size, Gas Mileage, Handling, Seats, Totally Different Cons: Just one so far. It could use a larger rear view mirror. The Bottom Line: It may not be the car for everyone, but why would you want something that everyone else has?
I have wanted to test drive an Aztek since I saw them arrive at a local dealer. I looked at a 2001 Aztek once, but was afraid it was just a bit too funky for me. That all changed when I saw the 2002 Aztek! I loved the refined looks and seemed just a...

Pros: Comfortable seats. Tons of cargo space. Great features for the price. Cons: Spoiler blocks rear view. The Bottom Line: This is the coolest car on the road and the best value. If you are looking for a small SUV, buy an Aztek and you'll love it!
I just traded in my 1998 Subaru Forester for a new Aztek. I love my Aztek so much more than the Forester, even though the "experts" rave about the Forester, it is really just a square station wagon. It rides low to the ground. My Aztek rides up high...

Pros: Wicked front, Indy-Jones style interior, handling, loud stereo - and the PRICE! Cons: funky butt-end, need more color choices..and of course, the stares from idiots The Bottom Line: This is a "must own" vehicle. If the looks bother you, you are too shallow and closed-minded so don't even take a test drive.
When my wife and I first saw this car on a lot a couple years ago, we only went back at night to look at it so that nobody else would see us. We swore for the last 2 years we would not even be seen near one and that owners of the Azteks were complete...

Pros: Smooth, quiet, lots of room, great sound system, great value for the money Cons: Fairly uncomfortable front seats, jittery ride, very unreliable 3.4 litre V-6, high depreciation The Bottom Line: GM lives up to its reputation for stylish, comfortable and quiet, but UNRELIABLE, vehicles with the Pontiac Aztek. The 3.4 litre V-6 is notorious for expensive head gasket repairs.
...for stylish, comfortable, and quiet, but UNRELIABLE vehicles. I really enjoy my 2002 Pontiac Aztek. The value-for-price is unbeatable. The convenience and accessibility features are outstanding. The ten speaker sound system is one of the best ...

Pros: Interior room, rear seat room, cargo space, unique design Cons: Fuel economy, poor reliability, costly maintenance The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to those who can find a good deal on a used Aztek but please set aside a budget for repairs
Aside from the fact that Pontiac Aztek is one of the strangest looking cars on the road, it is otherwise a very typical American made SUV. My experience with Pontiac Aztek is controversial as it provides a good sized vehicle with enormous cargo space and ...

Pros: roomy, plenty of storage, price, tent and mattress, very little road noise Cons: The blind spot which you eventually adjust to. The "ugly" factor. The Bottom Line: I would certainly recommend this vehicle to anyone. Its value is obvious--lots of interior storage, big enough to haul things, but smaller than most SUVs. It's just so versatile!!
My wife and I had to buy a new vehicle and after doing some research found that the Pontiac Aztek was the best value. Let's face it, the Aztek is pretty ugly to most eyes. That is OK because when you are driving it, you don't realize it AND it made the...

Pros: Love the interior - so quiet and comfortable. Good bang for the buck. Cons: Reliability is proving questionable. A little underpowered. Paint is cheap, scratches very easily. The Bottom Line: Proceed with caution. Dare to be different - but expect some problems.
I own the AWD 2002 Aztek Comfort Package.
Ignoring looks, I was impressed with this vehicle when I drove it. Best bang for the buck. I was singing its praises for the first few months of ownership, but some problems have occured to shake my...

Pros: Aluminum Alloy wheels, power windows, locks, mirrors, compact disk player, in base models. Cons: Lack of cruise control is my only caveat. The Bottom Line: This vehicle hits the spot for comfort space and I feel style.
After driving this car in all types of traffic and road conditions, it only makes me want to drive it more!
The V-6 has plenty of power and the suspension is good on most all surfaces, the controls and features give me a comfortable, enjoyable...
