Pros: Sporty, practical and excellent road holding. This car is well executed. Cons: Only minor ones. Would like to see a tad more headroom and cruise controls The Bottom Line: The Bonneville has it all: sporty looks, practical size, and great safety, handling, performance, and fuel economy. It's a nice, refined package.
Having owned nothing but imports -- my current drive is a '99 Maxima -- I wouldn't normally look twice at the Bonneville. In fact, I hadn't even heard of this car until an accident with my Maxima put me in a rental SLE for almost a month. When I went to...

Pros: Big trunk, fast engine, sound system audio levels adjusts in driving conditions Cons: cramped interior, insane radio ergonomics, rotten cruise control The Bottom Line: It's OK, but you can do better with competing models and for less money.
Our family rented a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville SE for a 3 day weekend and I thought I'd record my impressions of the vehicle.
The 2002 Pontiac Bonneville is mostly unchanged from the same bloated design that has plagued the car for the last...

Pros: Styling, comfort, handling, acceleration, and roominess. Cons: Can't think of a single one!! The Bottom Line: If you want or need a sporty, full-sized car... THIS IS IT!!
After reading several reviews of the 2002 Bonneville SE, I have to wonder what car a lot of those people have driven, as my thoughts aren't even close to some things others have said. I've read that the dash is "cluttered" (not in my opinion; very well...

Pros: Great car in every respect. Cons: Ash tray too small The Bottom Line: Simply a great car in every respect.
I've owned 3 Bonnevilles; 1997 SE, 2000 SE and now a 2002 SSEi. I have nothing but praise for all these cars. I used to tool around in a Mercedes or Volvo but I got smart bought a Bonneville for much less money with all the bells and whistles. My...

A reliable workhorse

Pros: Durable, strong engine. Reliable mechanical workmanship overall. Cons: Hi beam switch, low wattage stereo (lacks bass power).
The 2002 Bonneville is my 4th brand new Pontiac and I will continue to buy Pontiacs. I have 54,000 miles on the car and have yet to have a mechanical malfunction, as was the case with my other Pontiacs. And I do not baby this car either. I regularly utilize its horsepower to get up to speed when entering a busy highway and the engine is just as strong with 54,000 miles as it was with 500.
The only problems I have had are with squeaky seats and a vibration in the door from the stereo.
Although it is only a minor inconvenience, I also do not care for the high beam lever switch being changed from the standard "pull on/pull off", to a "push on/pull off".
Unfortunately, the 2005 model has gone up $8000 in price from the 2002 model with little to no change in style or features.

Pros: Good looking, sportier that other GM's driven. So far very reliable for 100K mile car. Cons: Typical GM faults (window motor, plastic latch for the trunk pass-through door) Odometer located poorly
I have had this car for almost 3 months and, to be honest I enjoy it more than I thought I would. I had a 2001 Aurora (Oldsmobile) and it was totaled in an accident. I was looking for a replacement when I found this Bonneville in the Autotrader. It was owned by a clothing company and it was used as a company vehicle. I bought it with 103,000 miles on it, but it was very well maintained. I have to give Kudos to the leasing company that took care of the car, they did an outstanding job. The car drives pretty much just like my Aurora did, and that car only had 35,000 on it when it was killed.
I hear alot about poor gas mileage, but I am averaging 25 - 26 miles/gallon with this car. The Aurora was a little better, but the Bonneville does very well, for it's size.
Trunk space is fantastic! Great sounding stereo system.
All in all a good car. I hope to get another 100,000 out of it.
