Pros: Price, outside styling, dash layout, gas mileage Cons: Too low to the ground, road noise, cheap fit and finish, steering poor. The Bottom Line: This car may look more stylish on the outside than others in the same class, but it seems really cheaply made.
I bought this car 2 years ago at a dealership after my 1991 Chev Cavalier was no longer worth fixing. This car has great gas mileage, but is very sluggish going up hills. A lot of road noise at higher speeds. Car is stylish ...

Pros: GREAT mileage (40 mpg), easy & fun to drive, NO DOOR DINGS! Cons: Not much power up hills, but with only 100hp I don't expect that. The Bottom Line: if you need a great, safe, care free, dent free 40 mpg commuter car, buy this model. No more worries in parking ramps, or at the gas pumps.
This car was a blessing in disguise. In 2005 I bought a collectible car that I planned on using as a daily driver, but it wasn't something that I wanted to drive in the winter so I started searching for an inexpensive vehicle to drive in Minnesota's ...

Pros: Fuel Economy/practicality. Looks/feels genuinely sporty.
Steals all of Honda/Toyota's 'thunder', and then some...
Cons: Saturn didn't continue making it!
Sure... cloth interior and rear visibility isn't great. The Bottom Line: 2002 S-Series coupe is THE package deal: affordable, great fuel-efficiency, practical, reliable, nice sporty look and feel. BRING IT BACK, SATURN!
My beater Chevy S10's cylinder head gave-up and I was forced to consider buying another vehicle. Being used to 'average' fuel economy, but with gas prices nearing $4.50 a gallon, I wanted to focus on reliable, affordable cars with 26 city to 36 highway ...

Pros: Gas mileage, interior, trunk Cons: Transmission, adverse weather The Bottom Line: Buy, it will save you on gas
This really is a great car, if you can overlook a few problems. First, I have been most satisfied with the gas mileage. I routinely get in the high 20's with mainly city driving, and on trips on the highway, I have gotten close to 40 mpg! This really ...

Pros: Sporty styling, reliable, economical, dent resistant
No visible rust. Cons: Mild piston slap (annoying noise)
Fast initial depreciation. The Bottom Line: Good economy, very reliable, fun to drive car with sleek styling. Recommended for those not needing to haul passengers in the back.
I have owned the car (2002 SC2) for 10 months and I am a previous Saturn owner (1996 SC2). Overall I am satisfied with the car, but I have a few criticisms. Initial impressions are that the car rides tighter (fewer suspension rattles) and handles ...

Pros: Decent low mid price car. Good gas mileage, decent looks, excellent leg room. Cons: It's a Saturn, Short, low seats, indoor rain, little power The Bottom Line: Ok if you have short legs and short funds. It's a good "step up" car, and looks good.
I bought this car as a dealer return, so I got a good price with a nice feature package. It was priced as a used car, despite being new as it was a return, and had less than 125 miles on it, so who could pass up that deal? It wasn't the color I ...

Pros: Good mileage, easy to work on, good visiblity, cheap to own. Cons: plastic interior when cold creakes, cheap parts in interior design The Bottom Line: If your looking for a good reliable used car, maybe for one of your kids. You should seriously look a this model year Saturn.
My wife and myself each have a S series saturn, I have a SC-2, and she has an SL-2 both were bought new in January 2002. The SC-2 currently has 37,000 miles on it and it runs flawlessly, if I really baby the ride I can get 41 mpg, all of my miles are ...

Pros: Gas Milage, 5 speed shifter, decent engine torque. Cons: Poor resale, seats not great. The Bottom Line: Good buy
Bought used 2002 SL1 to take place of my well used '89 chevy PU and doubled my gas milage. I first was looking at new and used Civic, Corolla and Sentra based on gas milage. Then discovered Saturn SL1 manual was rated at 40 MPG and gave one a drive at ...

Pros: Dent resistant side panels, decent sound system. Cons: Not my truck, Small, too light for higher speed highways. The Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a safe, reasonable priced vehicle for a young driver, this could be the one for you, stop in and check them out.
Three years ago this Memorial Day weekend 2002, I went looking for a new car for my then wife. This was a necessary purchase since the 1989 Pontiac Sunbird we had had a blown engine, and the 1992 Saturn SL1 was on it’s last legs so to speak. We ...

Pros: Plastic Body
Gas Mileage
Solid suspension
Great interior design Cons: Subpar acceleration (it is a compact car after all)
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a car that will withstand the test of time, and looking for better then average quality.
I have owned a SL2 since 11/01. The incentives on this vehicle after 9/11 were very good, and we got this car for under 1% APR for 60mo. The First thing that is great about this car is that throughout the 60mo. term you can expect no dings and ...

Pros: Sleek styling, everything works well. Excellent reliability. Saturn service. Cons: Little headroom, fuel economy should be better. More road noise than there should be. The Bottom Line: One of the few American marques that can rival the Japanese in overall reliability. They sell them in Japan, which should tell you something.
Since we owned a 1995 Saturn SC2 with well over 100,000 miles on it that had been to the shop exactly once in eight years of ownership, it was logical that we search the Saturn lot when the time came to get a new car. We found a silver SC2 with a ...

Pros: Pros are that I am finally getting rid of it, and getting a REAL car. Cons: Everything. I regret it every single time I have to get into it. The Bottom Line: I NEVER buy one again, I won't ever buy an american car again, they simply cannot compete with japanese, german, british cars.
I had the misfortune of buying this car after mine died, and I needed a new one ASAP. My mother happened to be dumping it, and like a fool, i bought it off of her. This car sucks. It sucks so bad, that i've thought of taking it to a bad neighborhood in ...

Pros: fuel economy, interior comfort and space, reliability, safety, trunk space, keyless remote entry system Cons: ABS is optional, engine noise, no sunroof The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone who is concerned with an efficient and economical way to get around, it is a great car for commuting and taking road trips!
I wanted a Saturn since mid-1990's when these cars earned enough reputation to convince me that they are excellent cars and when a local Saturn dealership opened up. I didn't get a Saturn back then and instead got an older bigger car. Five years later I ...

Pros: Looks good, reliable, economic. Cons: Paint sucks, engine lacks pep. The Bottom Line: Good car, reliable and economical, looks good.
Previous to this car, I had a 1993 Eagle Talon. When the timing belt blew and cost me $5000 to replace the blown engine, I decided I would never trust that car again, and wanted something with a warranty. However, I really liked the way the car looked, ...

Pros: No dents, Gas savings, Lots of room Cons: Lack of power The Bottom Line: Gas price is sky rocketing and teens get more violent on car doors :-)
I had studied Saturn SL1 for 4 months before I bought mine. I read almost every epinion about SL1 no matter what they hate or love the car. I picked 2002 because it is the last year of SL models (They got "ION" for the substitution.), they fixed most of ...
