Pros: Pros are that I am finally getting rid of it, and getting a REAL car. Cons: Everything. I regret it every single time I have to get into it. The Bottom Line: I NEVER buy one again, I won't ever buy an american car again, they simply cannot compete with japanese, german, british cars.
I had the misfortune of buying this car after mine died, and I needed a new one ASAP. My mother happened to be dumping it, and like a fool, i bought it off of her. This car sucks. It sucks so bad, that i've thought of taking it to a bad neighborhood in ...

Pros: The car gets adequate gas mileage and it has dent resistent panels. Cons: The car is cheaply made and the rotors give out after a few thousand miles. The Bottom Line: Do not buy this car. It is cheaply made and will give you nothing but problems.
I wish, I wish, I wish I never bought my Saturn SC2 (the three door coupe). It's an overpriced piece of junk that has depricated faster than I thought possible within the last two years. I had to file a complaint against Saturn through the Better B ...

Pros: It's not costing me anything. Cons: I have to drive it for another month The Bottom Line: I will never be a Saturn owner
I'm not a Saturn owner... and hopefully I never will be. After the wreak that took the life from my VW Jetta (see my 2001 VW Jetta review for the whole story on that) I was given a white 2002 Saturn to drive (courtesy of Enterprise Rent-a-car and the...

Pros: Price, outside styling, dash layout, gas mileage Cons: Too low to the ground, road noise, cheap fit and finish, steering poor. The Bottom Line: This car may look more stylish on the outside than others in the same class, but it seems really cheaply made.
I bought this car 2 years ago at a dealership after my 1991 Chev Cavalier was no longer worth fixing. This car has great gas mileage, but is very sluggish going up hills. A lot of road noise at higher speeds. Car is stylish ...

Pros: Excellent gas mileage. Reasonably priced. Cons: Disappointing interior; too many cheap ill-fitting plastic parts. The Bottom Line: This is a cheap car. It's as though the car was assembled in a third-world country. This is my last "Big 3" car.
So much for no haggle. I went into the dealership with no preconception. After I was presented with the MSRP of a fully loaded Saturn SL2 for the price of a Honda Accord, the sales rep. starting "negotiating" and dropping the price until she confided...

Pros: Decent low mid price car. Good gas mileage, decent looks, excellent leg room. Cons: It's a Saturn, Short, low seats, indoor rain, little power The Bottom Line: Ok if you have short legs and short funds. It's a good "step up" car, and looks good.
I bought this car as a dealer return, so I got a good price with a nice feature package. It was priced as a used car, despite being new as it was a return, and had less than 125 miles on it, so who could pass up that deal? It wasn't the color I ...

Pros: Reliable, relatively cheap, mostly comfortable. Cons: Small back seat, bumpy ride. The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car if you aren't too uppity about your vehicle. It's reliable and not too expensive.
In September of 2001, my husband and I were involved in a bad car accident. Luckily the only thing that died was my beloved Subaru. So, we were thrust into the realm of looking for a new car. We didn’t have too much time, as the insurance company was...

Pros: Low price, decent gas mileage. Cons: Small, somewhat noisey. not a car for adults. The Bottom Line: This is really a car you buy for your kid. It's a decent little car that is inexpensive to buy and gets good mileage. But this car grows on you.
The buying experience was great, once I found the right dealer. I was looking for a "Silver-Blue Special" (a promotion Saturn was running in June 2002) and went to a couple of Saturn dealers in the Orlando area. These dealers had the $9995 Silver-Blue...

Pros: Nice, affordable car Cons: Seats!, acceleration The Bottom Line: Go for the SL2. It's not much more expensive (only a few hundred bucks) and seems to be a much better car.
I had high hopes for a Saturn. I leased this SL2 recently after my lease on my Chevy Prizm ran out (see that review!). I had test driven a Saturn at the time I chose my Prizm and actually only chose the Chevy because of the price (slightly better lease...

Pros: Sleek sporty look; fun to drive, reasonable price, customer service Cons: Vision obscured rear driver side The Bottom Line: Saturn SC2 is a great looking, fun to drive car, and at a very reasonable cost.
Saturn SC2 has been my vehicle of choice twice now. First of all, let me explain that I am not tech oriented, so if you want a perfunctory, tekkie type review, this will not be the one for you. Secondly, I had a 1999 Saturn SC2 prior to this one, and...

Pros: Low price and great financing. Lots of options for a low-end car. Cons: A bit noisy. Cheap feel to the interior. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a dependable car with a good list of options that won't break the bank, this is the car for you.
My wife has a 50-minute commute to work everyday and her Toyota Tercel was on its last legs. It was burning oil to the point that we kept a few quarts in the trunk to be added as needed. It also was a two-door and did not lend itself very well to...

Pros: Gas mileage, interior, trunk Cons: Transmission, adverse weather The Bottom Line: Buy, it will save you on gas
This really is a great car, if you can overlook a few problems. First, I have been most satisfied with the gas mileage. I routinely get in the high 20's with mainly city driving, and on trips on the highway, I have gotten close to 40 mpg! This really ...

Pros: Sporty styling, reliable, economical, dent resistant
No visible rust. Cons: Mild piston slap (annoying noise)
Fast initial depreciation. The Bottom Line: Good economy, very reliable, fun to drive car with sleek styling. Recommended for those not needing to haul passengers in the back.
I have owned the car (2002 SC2) for 10 months and I am a previous Saturn owner (1996 SC2). Overall I am satisfied with the car, but I have a few criticisms. Initial impressions are that the car rides tighter (fewer suspension rattles) and handles ...

Pros: Good gas mileage, nice looking, polymer body panels, surprisingly punchy engine Cons: Questionable quality on some interior parts, low rearview mirror, legroom The Bottom Line: A good entry level car. Fun to drive, and easy on the gas whether you're on the highway or cruisin' the strip downtown.
The text below the ++++++ line is exactly how I wrote it for the past three updates. I've recently hit 40,000 miles into this vehicle, and have a couple more casual observations as the car has aged. First off, a few more squeaks and creaks have ...

Pros: Dent resistant side panels, decent sound system. Cons: Not my truck, Small, too light for higher speed highways. The Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a safe, reasonable priced vehicle for a young driver, this could be the one for you, stop in and check them out.
Three years ago this Memorial Day weekend 2002, I went looking for a new car for my then wife. This was a necessary purchase since the 1989 Pontiac Sunbird we had had a blown engine, and the 1992 Saturn SL1 was on it’s last legs so to speak. We ...
