by
Nov 24, 2010 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Tons of these on the road,
Cons: Toyota's rep may undermine real value and expectations
The Bottom Line: Boring car but if you can get one at fair price could make a good grocery getter.

Overcome by boredom Starting… to ….Nod …off.  Agh.  At the wheel.  What the heck. I shake myself out of it. Open the window, get some air. I drop the hammer to pass a lumbering truck and nothing. I ... read more

Oct 16, 2007 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliability, ease of driving, adequate power, quality components, smart layout overall!
Cons: Driver seat comfort on long trips, moderate freeway wind noise, a bit spongy brake feel.
The Bottom Line: A best buy due to the overall quality built into this car!

I purchased my 2002 Camry LE used from a private party with 38,000 miles on it in 2004. As of October 2007 I now have nearly 105,000 miles. The steering is rock solid. At about 100,000 I had the front rotors and pads changed (not an expensive repair at ... read more

20 somethings DO like these cars.

by
Mar 1, 2006 - Updated Apr 20, 2006 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: reliability, comfort, and good looks. The Camry is the total package.
Cons: You can't drive more than a mile without seeing another one.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this car. You cannot go wrong by buying a Toyota Camry. It manages to exceed most any expectation you might have for your car.

Toyota Camry's are great cars. You can get the gist of my entire review with that one sentence, or you can read on to find out WHY they're great cars. Everywhere you look, it seems that Camry's are viewed as reliable cars for older people who can't ... read more

From Honda to Camry

by
Nov 13, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth, strong engine; extremely quiet cabin; gorgeous exterior; base model comfortable, almost luxurious; great value
Cons: Stiff steering; no leather (my fault); no smoker's option (my fault); not very exciting
The Bottom Line: Get it for a first driver, get it for a long-term, practical car. Don't get it if you're looking for a head-turner or excitement.

I'm a finicky driver. And I'm female. So basically that equates to me driving aggressively and believing I'm always right. I don't really care about all the mumbo-jumbo everyone points to in their posts. Engine specs? Who cares? I just want to know how ... read more

Almost the Worst Car I Have Ever Owned

by
Apr 29, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: It has a place to store a garage door opener. It drives quietly.
Cons: Bad paint job, bad brakes, vibrating wipers, bad tires
The Bottom Line: No way would I buy a Toyota again.

Everyone I knew said to buy a Camry. All the rating books said the same thing. I checked out five competing cars of same size, and I bought a Camry. I can't say that the price was a bargain. Maybe I ended up with a lemon, but the brakes are horrible. ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Safety, Reputation, Dealership Service, Comfort, Design, Gas mileage
Cons: Steering failure (a fluke)
The Bottom Line: Ultimately I really like this car (admittedly not enough to name it) and recommend the purchase of this make to others.

I love to write about cars. Part of what makes it so fantastic for me is that I am such a girl when it comes to any mode of transportation that I am absolutely the last person in the world that should be able to write about them. However, I recently ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Quiet, fuel efficient, responsive 4 cylinder Engine, comfortable, roomy
Cons: Horrid Tires, Rattles, Rattles, Rattles....
The Bottom Line: So far, a fine fueld efficient, room automobile..so long as rattles do not bother you and you avoid the OEM Continiental tires.

I purchased a *NEW* 2002 Camry when these cars first hit the market. I was reluctant to write a review until I had the car at least 15K miles. After all you can not judge a book by its cover and I thought to fairly review a purchase of this magnitude I ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: The SE V6 handles great!, smooth and quiet ride.
Cons: It's a little too big, would prefer something in between the Camry and Corolla.
The Bottom Line: After 14K miles, it's the best car that I've ever owned (my last car was a '96 Honda Accord EX).

My Toyota Camry Lemon

by
Jun 17, 2003 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: Comfortable ride
Cons: Noisy, unreliable and poor Toyota customer service
The Bottom Line: The poor quality made me feel like I had bought a Chrysler from the 1970's

I bought a new 2002 CAMRY XLE 4-Door Sedan “loaded” in late 2002 for around $30,000. It spent 30+ days out of the first 2-1/2 months in the repair shop to fix the ABS and to fix multiple squeaks, rattles and thumps. Toyota finally ... read more

Pros: Soft ride, everything about his car is silky smooth.
Cons: Not overly fast(in any aspects).
The Bottom Line: This car is one of the reasons why they even have a family sedan!

Camry SE a reliable car

by
Apr 30, 2003 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: good ride, ABS brake with Anti-Skid control is perfect, good gas milage in 6 cyl.
Cons: Oil filter is not accessible easily, 6 cyl. does not have enough acceleration in start
The Bottom Line: It is a very good and reliable car, but get it with more options if you can, it worths to pay more bucks and get all.

It's been a year since I got my Camry SE, and I love it so far. Engine is very quite and powerful, though a little sluggish in the start. Oil filter is somehow in a bad place, every time that I take it for oil change, they make a big mess and oil ... read more

On getting older

by
Jan 21, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Nice cars impress women.
Cons: Can't quite cover the bald spot.
The Bottom Line: One heck of a car to compensate for growing up.

As a man ages, it is only natural for him to seek ways to appear younger, more vibrant, not so worn out. This "mid-life crisis" is manifested in many ways, among them, buying a new car. While many men opt for the overt show-off-ness of a flashy ... read more

Solid Toyota, As Usual

by
Nov 15, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Solid; "Toyotas Don't Break"
Cons: Cannot get nav system AND CD changer
The Bottom Line: What's boring to some is reliable and dependable to others. There is no better 4-door sedan on the market.

I'm a veteran of Camrys, having owned a '92 and '96 Camry. When the model changed for '97, I thought I was done with the car, because the styling was so poor and the famous Toyota over-engineering was suddenly lacking in the interior finish. But for ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: exterior styling; Toyota reputation
Cons: interior ergonomics; soft brakes
The Bottom Line: A nice looking car with questionable ergonomics and hazardous brake feel.

This review is based on the 2002 4 cylinder LE. My 1998 Accord EX was in the shop for repairs, so I decided to rent a Camry. My wife was very fond of the styling and we figured this car would be on the top of our list to replace the Accord, if we ever ... read more

This Camry is on the top!

by
Oct 19, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: "Sporty" feel with SE package, powerful engines in both V6 and 4 cylinder
Cons: Poor traction in bad weather
The Bottom Line: Being an owner to 3 Camrys, not one has let us down so far. There ability to make smooth, powerful, dependable cars has kept us as returning satisfied customers.

We have been owners of a Camry for about 10 years now, and each year they seem to get better and better. The release of the new body style 2002 Camry has spiced up things from the previous models. The 2002 Camry is starting to aim at a younger crowd ... read more
