Pros: Fun to drive, great mileage, awesome stereo system, lots of interior space. Cons: Not a lot of luxuries, styling is an acquired taste. The Bottom Line: Buy one! It's very easy on gas and it's fun to drive.
I would like to model this somewhat after Tim2V's excellent Kia Rio reliability test; I've been following it with great interest. So I will attempt to add updates to the end of this review on a bi-monthly basis, with special updates if anything...

Pros: Great mileage, reliable, fun to drive, cheap to maintain and register (esp. in CA) Cons: A few rattles, odd stying, expensive parts, some wind resistance. The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the ECHO. It's well worth the money and I believe we will drive this car for many years to come. I would buy an ECHO again.

Pros: Great gas mileage.
Incredible roominess.
Very zippy car.
Center mounted Pod Cons: Side mirrors hard to adjust
Needs darker window tint.
No arm rests. The Bottom Line: I LOVE this car, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one in a heartbeat. I consider the ECHO the almost perfect vehicle -- perfect would be an ECHO hatchback ;~)
My husband and I decided to trade in our SUV (been there done that !!) for a more economical and environmentally friendly vehicle. We looked at a Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. Many years ago we had owned a Corolla which literally rusted off its chassis...

I am a high mileage driver (40,000 annually) and needed a car which would boast of exceptional miles per gallon as well as a car that wouldn't break down on me in the midst of a busy Los Angeles commute. I found that in the Toyota Echo.

Pros: Fuel economy, roomy interior, comfortable seats, RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY. Cons: ZERO. The Bottom Line: We have no doubt whatsoever that our Echo will surpass 300,000 miles and 400,000 wouldn't surprise me at all.
We bought our 2002 Echo in April of 2002 and it has been an absolute joy from day one. It's now May 2006 and the car has 161,000 miles on it and STILL gets 41 MPG highway! Truly amazing. What's even more amazing is that all that's ever been done to the ...
