Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Peppy acceleration, Fuel Economy, Room.
Cons: Seat comfort, Ergonomics, Gauge placement, Noisy.
The Bottom Line: Good fuel economy and overall performance are great assets, however the interior makes for a poor driving experience.

Economy cars have slowly become more interesting/sophisticated over the years, more so in the past 4 years than ever. In the recent past, cars like the Toyota Corolla, the Toyota Tercel, the Ford Escort, etc etc. all offered good fuel...

Pros: Cute, peppy, spacious, fun to drive, etc.
Cons: Gets tossed around in the wind, no power windows/locks.
The Bottom Line: A reliable economy car with great gas mileage, fun to drive and cute. I love my Echo!

A few years ago I sat browsing through a Teen magazine I had gotten in the mail and stopped on an ad for quite possibly the ugliest car I had ever laid eyes on, a Toyota Echo. The two door Roxy edition. They were giving one away in some kind of ...

I have just purchased a used 2002 Toyota ECHO - automatic, power windows, power locks, power steering, 6 speaker radio, rear spoiler. It currently has just over 15,000 miles and I have driven it for about 150 miles. Obviously this review will be a ...

This review is on the 2001 ECHO, since there were no changes in the 2002 model, it also applies. You may have already have read this in the 2001 section. I reposted it in the 2002 section because it has important safety information for anyone considering ...

Pros: Fun to drive, great mileage, awesome stereo system, lots of interior space.
Cons: Not a lot of luxuries, styling is an acquired taste.
The Bottom Line: Buy one! It's very easy on gas and it's fun to drive.

I would like to model this somewhat after Tim2V's excellent Kia Rio reliability test; I've been following it with great interest. So I will attempt to add updates to the end of this review on a bi-monthly basis, with special updates if anything...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great mileage, reliable, fun to drive, cheap to maintain and register (esp. in CA)
Cons: A few rattles, odd stying, expensive parts, some wind resistance.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the ECHO. It's well worth the money and I believe we will drive this car for many years to come. I would buy an ECHO again.

A couple of years ago, I got a job teaching about 45 minutes away from our house. Bye bye pickup truck, hello economy car! We did our research and found four cars in the approximately $10,000 price range--Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Kia something else and ...

Pros: Great gas mileage. Incredible roominess. Very zippy car. Center mounted Pod
Cons: Side mirrors hard to adjust Needs darker window tint. No arm rests.
The Bottom Line: I LOVE this car, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one in a heartbeat. I consider the ECHO the almost perfect vehicle -- perfect would be an ECHO hatchback ;~)

My husband and I decided to trade in our SUV (been there done that !!) for a more economical and environmentally friendly vehicle. We looked at a Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. Many years ago we had owned a Corolla which literally rusted off its chassis...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: high mileage coupled with acceptable engine power
Cons: dealer option packages
The Bottom Line: The Toyota Echo is a fine choice for people who want a high mileage, trouble free vehicle and who are comparing it to a Honda Civic as an alternative.

I am a high mileage driver (40,000 annually) and needed a car which would boast of exceptional miles per gallon as well as a car that wouldn't break down on me in the midst of a busy Los Angeles commute. I found that in the Toyota Echo.

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fuel economy, roomy interior, comfortable seats, RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY.
Cons: ZERO.
The Bottom Line: We have no doubt whatsoever that our Echo will surpass 300,000 miles and 400,000 wouldn't surprise me at all.

We bought our 2002 Echo in April of 2002 and it has been an absolute joy from day one. It's now May 2006 and the car has 161,000 miles on it and STILL gets 41 MPG highway! Truly amazing. What's even more amazing is that all that's ever been done to the ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, lots of room, easy in and out, plenty of zip
Cons: Handling is a bit "tilt-a-whirl", bouncy in the wind, no rear-window wiper.
The Bottom Line: For good mileage and reliability, the Toyota Echo can't be beat.

I used Epinions to help decide about this car, so I decided I would return the favor, and review it.

The car was the perfect choice for us, since we live out in the boonies, and have to 25 miles to town on the freeway. Therefore we wanted a...

The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone single--it's a real head turner and FUEL EFFICIENT!

.......or a great fourth car (in my case!) If you're single and don't have to cart around kids, this car is just about perfect. I have the 2-door model and some of my passengers have been "large". They had no problem. There is a lot of head room in ...
