Pros: Sporty, Leg/Head Room, Gas Mileage, Fun To Drive, Plenty of pep with a stick shift Cons: ? Not a monster SUV for those who want to rule the road... The Bottom Line: In the RAV4 you get great styling, good gas mileage, four-wheel drive (if you want it) and plenty of space for passengers and/or cargo.
What can you say about the RAV4 other than spectacular. This car combines the benefits of larger SUVs with the benefits of smaller passenger cars. Great gas mileage, four-wheel drive, comfortable ride, space for passengers and/or cargo ...

Pros: Very easy to drive and maneuver, AWD, flexible interior and storage everywhere. Cons: Marginal MPG compared to similar car, no rear bumper, marginal engine power. The Bottom Line: A great small SUV with a great AWD system. Generous storage, great steering, and sharp styling are attractive features. Go easy on the options and the price is reasonable!
Driving Overall, the RAV4 is an easy to drive vehicle. The steering is light with a tight turning radius, making city driving and parking easy. The RAV4 tracks very well during highway driving, although it does not feel as safe as a (lower) car at fast ...

Pros: Interior/Exterior design, handling, gas mileage Cons: Annoying rattle they haven't fixed, key-less entry remote works sometimes. The Bottom Line: Other than our minor complaints (rattle mostly), I love my RAV4. I have a lot of fun driving it, it's been reliable, and comfortable.
My lease was coming to a close on my last vehicle (a pick-up, 4x4) and I needed to find something to buy. Most large SUV's were too big, and more than I wanted to spend; but I didn't want a car. At work one day, I happened to see a new black RAV4 in...

Pros: Comfortable interior and lots of fun to drive. Cons: If you want to load it up with options, it will cost you a lot. The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a 4-wheel drive and do not need it to be loaded, check out the RAV4.
Back to the Drawing Board.
Toyota RAV4, 2002
For the 2002 RAV4, Toyota’s designers and engineers went back to the drawing board and came out with a re-designed and re-engineered product to offer consumers.

Pros: Great styling, handling and useability Cons: Anemic engine...chassis is crying for a V6! The Bottom Line: Great car needing a V6. But with 24MPG, who can complain? If I could do without a 5-speed, then I probably wouldve purchased the Hyundai SantaFe given the price difference.
I've had the car for about 8 months now and believe that I've come to know it pretty well.
LIKES
I like the fact that there are a LOT of pockets everywhere. There are pockets on all four doors, the center console and dashboard. There are...

Pros: Roomy & comfortable, good gas mileage, fun all around Cons: Lacking a little pep The Bottom Line: Best vehicle I've ever owned. Tons of room, great for road trips, excellent mpg for an SUV.
As the lease on my 1999 VW Jetta ended, I knew I was never going to drive anything but a Toyota product ever again. I wanted to test drive the new Corolla just to try it out but the dealers in Massachusetts are pre-selling them and have none on the lots...

Pros: Appearance, handling, space, pricing, Toyota reputation Cons: Acceleration, payload, seat position options and the most annoying center console The Bottom Line: Hate it or Love it, Rav4 is fun to drive, sharp looking, practical, good gas mileage, great features, sturdy frame, solid ride.
First of all, you can't pass by a Rav4 without admiring the cute factor. Sharp lines as well as curves. She's a beaut!
I test drove 5 of these SUV's as well as a few other Versions of the smaller SUV family. I'm 5'11, so, leg space was the...

Pros: Better gas mileage than my car - read details in my longer report. Cons: None really - I wish back door could swing up rather than to the side. The Bottom Line: Great vehicle. My wife loves it. Our dogs love it. Easy to drive, and maintain.
This SUV gets better gas mileage than my car!
I can still make short turns (U-turns in intersections) and park in a “compact” parking space.
The rear seats not only fold up, but can be totally removed if you want (we do this...

Pros: Styling,Paint (Rainforrest Green),Quiet,Very comfortable Seating. Cons: Engine power,Gas Mileage. The Bottom Line: My bad back loves the driver's seat & getting in and out.(Heighth) The beautiful styling is head and shoulder's over the competition.
I wonder if the Honda CRV designers had any preview of the styling, of the competition ,the Toyota RAV 4. I was shopping both vehicles. Just parking the two together, could quite possibly make the buying decision for you. The Honda is a BOX on wheels....

Pros: Excellent rear storage versatility. Great styling. AWD makes it fun to drive. Cons: Weak acceleration. Poor side door storage design. The Bottom Line: The cream of the crop in used small SUVs.
I just bought a used 2002 RAV4 from a local Toyota dealer. This was a "program" car that was very well cared for, and besides a couple of nicks on the doors, appeared that it could be much newer. I knew I wanted a small SUV, and so I did a lot of ...

I purchased my RAV4 several months ago and I just love it!! It looks very sharp and the mileage is good for a SUV. The CD player and stereo system sounds great and I find the seats to be very comfortable. It can easily seat 4 average size adults very...

Pros: Aggressive styling - tight body - A BLAST to drive Cons: You have to spend a lot of extra $$ for options to "dress" it up The Bottom Line: Cars have paced me on the thruway to get a look at it. A real BLAST
My wife and I did a lot of internet research as well as leg work before we decided on the RAV4. We were still undecided until we saw a black RAV4 with the upgraded L package. We decided to buy it on the spot.
We love the new body styling and...

Pros: Driving position & extremely fun to drive Cons: Some of the options are too expensive The Bottom Line: Reliability, excellent build quality (love the sound of those doors shutting), high resale values, smooth engine and a really fun SUV to drive around town
I traded in my Jeep Grand Cherokee for this vehicle in search of better gas mileage and greater reliability. I was really not attracted at all to the old version of the RAV4 and was really pleasantly surprised to see the new edition of the RAV4 at the...

Pros: rides like a luxury car and has terrific acceleration and gas mileage Cons: not many color options to choose from The Bottom Line: This is the best suv I have been in. It rides better than the Tracker and other Suvs, more a car ride than suv. I would definately buy it again.
This is the suv for the average guy to the high roller. It has everything you are looking for in a SUV, great gas mileage (24/29 mpg city/highway), excellent acceleration, and the look of the vehicle is just amazing. It has plenty of cargo room and if...

Pros: Sharp! Cons: Where's the rear bumper? The Bottom Line: I luv my Rav! My 1st choice of mini-SUVs.
I didn't have it a week & I was cruised. Someone diving with her mother stopped in the middle of the road & said "That's Sharp!". They had to check it out & I felt like a sales-person showing it.
I also have a black L Package, privacy glass,...
