Pros: high, fun car, great for city and reasonable off roading. Cons: Stock tires are noisy, no ESP that should be on such a small car. The Bottom Line: A fun little car. Great looking and behaves just like you expect it to be.
Bought it (two door version) for my wife last winter and It's a great car to be honest. Relatively trouble free, when bought had to replace all four ignition coils and that's that. However now it has a strange rev limiter just on 3000 RPM and won't ... read more

Pros: Excellent rear storage versatility. Great styling. AWD makes it fun to drive. Cons: Weak acceleration. Poor side door storage design. The Bottom Line: The cream of the crop in used small SUVs.
I just bought a used 2002 RAV4 from a local Toyota dealer. This was a "program" car that was very well cared for, and besides a couple of nicks on the doors, appeared that it could be much newer. I knew I wanted a small SUV, and so I did a lot of ... read more

Pros: Cargo space, size of the vehicle Cons: The acceleration of the Rav4 is a little slow. The Bottom Line: I recommend this vehicle to anyone. It has plenty of seating room and cargo room. It is a very low-maintenance vehicle.
Last year, I purchased a 2002 Toyota RAV4. When it came time to buy my first car, the Rav4 was perfect for me. I bought the Toyota Rav4 mostly because my dad agreed it was safe and had good gas mileage. I liked it because it was small, roomy, and I felt ... read more

Pros: Size, seats, ride, RELIABILITY Cons: Could use more power accelerating over 40mph. Husband says it a "girly car" The Bottom Line: Great SUV for those of us who don't want to drive tanks.
I have been a Toyota loyalist since 1985 when I bought my first new Toyota fresh out of college. It had been my favorite ever until in Jan. 2002 I bought my Rav4. I had previously owned 3 corollas, 3 camrys and 1 4 runner (still own), but had become ... read more

Pros: Very easy to drive and maneuver, AWD, flexible interior and storage everywhere. Cons: Marginal MPG compared to similar car, no rear bumper, marginal engine power. The Bottom Line: A great small SUV with a great AWD system. Generous storage, great steering, and sharp styling are attractive features. Go easy on the options and the price is reasonable!
Driving Overall, the RAV4 is an easy to drive vehicle. The steering is light with a tight turning radius, making city driving and parking easy. The RAV4 tracks very well during highway driving, although it does not feel as safe as a (lower) car at fast ... read more

Pros: Easy to drive, fuel efficient, looks Cons: engine size, power The Bottom Line: If you want a excellent & small SUV and not really worried about power, this is it.
The RAV is a pretty sporty looking vehicle. My wife drives it most of the time and likes the size of it. It's great for drivers who desire the ability to haul (small) loads, but yet don't want the bigger & bulky size. The short hood makes driving and ... read more

Pros: Toyota reliability, power to weight ratio, fun to drive Cons: Back door needs window access. A tad small. The Bottom Line: I bought the RAV4 primarily for the ledgenday Toyota reliability. The fit and finish are excellent.
My 2002 RAV is the 2wd, 5speed model. I'm very glad I choose this model rather than the 4X4 Automatic. I don't drive in conditions where I need a four wheel drive and the manual transmission provides more get up and go. Plus, there is a weight savings ... read more

Pros: Interior/Exterior design, handling, gas mileage Cons: Annoying rattle they haven't fixed, key-less entry remote works sometimes. The Bottom Line: Other than our minor complaints (rattle mostly), I love my RAV4. I have a lot of fun driving it, it's been reliable, and comfortable.
My lease was coming to a close on my last vehicle (a pick-up, 4x4) and I needed to find something to buy. Most large SUV's were too big, and more than I wanted to spend; but I didn't want a car. At work one day, I happened to see a new black RAV4 in ... read more

Pros: Great styling, handling and useability Cons: Anemic engine...chassis is crying for a V6! The Bottom Line: Great car needing a V6. But with 24MPG, who can complain? If I could do without a 5-speed, then I probably wouldve purchased the Hyundai SantaFe given the price difference.
I've had the car for about 8 months now and believe that I've come to know it pretty well.

Pros: Good looking vehicle, handles the road nicely, quiet ride. Great window visibility. Cons: Extra options too expensive to purchase on my budget. The Bottom Line: It is a comfortable ride and is economical. What more could you ask for. Has the great Toyota reputation behind it. I know that from experience.
Purchased my Rav4 two weeks ago. Handles great and if it last as long as my 1985 Toyota 4-Runner then I will be happy. Always have had good luck with Toyota. Did not hesitate to purchase another one. One thing I like about this vehicle is the great ... read more
