Quality truck with some needless flaws.

by tssplash
Aug 19 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: High Dependability, Great Warranty backing by Manufacturer, good MPG, and great looks.
Cons: Thin paint, some cheap fixtures, uncomfortable bench seat.
The Bottom Line: I recommend buying any Toyota vehicle as I've had many that have exceeded 220K plus trouble-free miles.

This is a great, and reliable truck, and I could highly recommend it to anyone. Mine still runs, and drives great, has 164K on it, and with no mechanical problems besides the recall repair on the balljoints as a precautionary measure. However there are ...

Pros: Engine, Comfort, Ride, Ease of Towing

The Bottom Line: It is a excellent towing vehicle, and a nice ride too.

I have owned four pickup trucks. I started with a 93 Truck, then a 94 T-100. I bought my first camping trailer, and bought a 00 Tundra V6 Regular Cab. Lastly, I got a bigger camping trailer and purchased the 02 Tundra SR5 extended cab with the V8....

Oct 18 '02

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Powerful V8, good ride
Cons: Reputation for brake problems, driveshaft "clunk", some cheap interior trim
The Bottom Line: The Tundra is a quality truck, and although it has a few low points, is still better than the other three large pickups.

The Toyota Tundra is a pickup truck which is suited well for city driving. It provides a smooth ride and handles well. Mine is a 2WD access cab V8. The 2002 Tundra is available in two body styles- a regular cab with an 8' long bed, and an access cab...

Pros: Reliable, comfortable, attractive, easy to drive
Cons: interior a bit spartan
The Bottom Line: This truck does nothing exceptionally and everything well. A pleasing experience awaits you.

We bought this truck after suffering through 3 years ownership of an Olds Alero. My wife really, really wanted a truck. I said "No, think of the expense, what are we going to use a truck for?" Thankfully my wife completely ignored me and we purchased ...

I love my Tundra! This is my first truck & it took me a year to research between the other MFG before deciding on the Tundra. The handling is excellent espressially after adding the Hellwig Anti-Sway bar in the rear!

Dec 31 '02

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent build quality, good power, comfortable for full size truck
Cons: transmission "clunk"...no black interior option, NO problems to date (5,500 miles)
The Bottom Line: I would absolutely get another Tundra. I am looking forward to a remodel / upgrade of the Tundra in 2004 for my next vehicle.

I own a 2002 Toyota tundra 4X4 and love it. I've had many cars in the past ,but fell in love with trucks when I bought a Tacoma in 2000. Unfortunately the Tacoma had a small 4 cylinder and was a little underpowered for me.
Hence, my Tundra...

Pros: Excellent in all respects.

The Bottom Line: Excellent, just perfect. I do not need a crew cab or tow heavy trailers.

This is my third Toyota truck and I have had it for 8,000 miles with no problems nor did I have difficulties with previous Toyotas.

I am delighted with this truck. I test drove other trucks prior to this purchase and this was the best by...

I bought my 2002 tundra v8, ext cab, 4x4, with 12000 miles on it. In only 2 months I put over 6000 miles on it. I love driving that truck! It is so much more comfortable then other trucks in its class. The ride, even with 4x4, is amazingly smooth....

by dsilvers
Apr 15 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Looks, Ride, Reliability, Power
Cons: NONE!
The Bottom Line: The only truck I would consider trading this one in on would be another Tundra after I put my usual 300-500,000 on it!

We had always wanted a full-size pick-up but refused to buy one until either Toyota or Nissan had built one with a V8.
This truck is awesome! Handles great, rides great, looks great and of course I know it will be reliable! We have owned 4...

I'll Never Buy Ford Again

by lyn_johnston
Mar 13 '02

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Quality vehicle, reliable, smooth, comfortable, tough
Cons: a few minor complaints, that's all
The Bottom Line: The Toyota Tundra is a reliable, quiet riding, and overall superior pickup truck. Its performance, safety, and quality far outweigh that of any other truck on the market.

I come from a Ford family, so when I told my dad I was considering buying a Toyota, I thought he would disown me. He owns a farm and everyone there and at all of the neighboring farms drives either a Ford or a Chevy. I can say upfront that I have...

Pros: Very strong V8, whisper quiet interior cabin with exceptionally smooth ride.
Cons: Rear brakes come standard drum instead of disc except in Limited model.
The Bottom Line: This is the best quality built truck on the market today.

Having test driven all major competitors in this vehicle class, the Tundra in the V8 version was a clear choice for me. I observed noticeable differences between the Toyota Tundra and its competition. If you are in the market for a quality truck, do a...

Cons: Transmission "hitch", ABS not standard, Rear drum brakes.
The Bottom Line: These are great trucks but good luck finding a used one.

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Toyota Quality and Performance
Cons: you pay for power with gas mileage
The Bottom Line: Excellent quality, looks sharp and smart, if you're thinking about buying a Chevy, fork out a little more and get a Tundra.

I traded in my 2000 Toyota Tundra for a 2002 Toyota Tundra Access Cab SR5. I LOVED my 2000 model- basically just wanted leather interior and a new color. So far, other than having the leather interior now in my new truck, I can find no significant...

Just bought my 2002 Toyota Tundra Access Cab 4x4 with 49,000 miles on it. Has the 4.7L Iforce V8. About to get my first oil change. I haven't tried towing anything with it yet, but it seems to have plenty of power for usual 1/2 ton truck stuff. Came ...
