Pros: Economical. Great Styling. Fun to drive Cons: Diesel residue on white car. The Bottom Line: This is a great car for any one that drives a lot, any age range. I've had people stop me to tell me that they like my car...now that's something!
I love my Jetta TDI...It is fun to drive, economical, comfortable and stylish. My favorite things are the supurb sound system (Monsoon upgrade), heated leather seats are awesome, manueverability, and it stops on a dime! I have had no major problems so far...

Pros: Quality manufacturing and fun to drive. Cons: Velour seats collect lint and the back seat is small. The Bottom Line: This is a great car!
I got my 2002 Jetta about 1 month ago, and while I cannot comment on its durability over the long haul, I can comment on how much I love this car.
After getting rid of my 2001 Grand Am (read my review if you are interested), I decided to lease...

Pros: good engine, nice interior materials Cons: mechanical failures, squeaks/rattles The Bottom Line: If you're looking for trouble-free transportation, move on.
I purchased my 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T based on Volkswagen's reputation for making quality automobiles. This was my first foreign car purchase, and I have not been impressed thus far. Since purchasing the car in May 2002, I have had the car serviced for the...

Pros: Great fuel Economy, Nice interior and styling. Cons: standard sound system fair. The Bottom Line: Love the diesel, not much hp but the torque is awesome! Will probably never buy a gas car again!
My Silver Jetta GLS with all the options is a wonderful car. Gets excellent mileage with the 5 speed manual transmission. Best 54 Mpg, worst around 41 mpg. Leather interior is nice to keep clean and the heated seats are options that I did not think I...

Pros: A solid performing vehicle that is a well-kept secret. See tdiclub.com Cons: I have not found any yet! The Bottom Line: A great city car that runs and runs. You will not regret buying this car.
I have over 25,000 miles on this car and it has not missed a beat. Absolutely nothing has gone wrong with this vehicle. The mileage is great and often better than what EPA ratings say. You will be able to drive to your heart's content. Yesterday I...

Pros: Cool features, great looking, quality feel, fun car to drive, too many to list Cons: Could use a bigger console & glove compartment The Bottom Line: Unique styling, cool features, nice power, nice looking, reliable & comfortable & worth every penny.
I did a lot of research before picking a car this time and it paid off. I was originally going to try to save a few bucks and go for the Mazda Protege 5 or something similar but I'm glad I held out and went with the Jetta. I love it! Mine is silver with...

Pros: Quick, good handling Cons: Bad interior design The Bottom Line: A sporty little sedan, drives well, good bang for your buck.
Great little car. My Jetta is turbocharged and when you gun it, this car goes. But all the while in does it in such a smooth fashion. It handles great with little body roll, even when you take that turn a tad fast. Most of the interior is really...

Pros: Comfortable, fun to drive Cons: completely unreliable The Bottom Line: Well, I'll never buy a Volkswagen, or Audi for that matter, again, but maybe you'll have better luck. A bit of a gamble for a 24,000+ new car though.
Purchased new in February 2002, since then it has left me stranded 3 times with a faulty ignition coil. There has finally been a recall on them, but it does nothing to restore my faith in the car. The first two times happened within two weeks of each...

Listen to the title, think about it, and then read my story.
So, I thought I would be cool and buy a VW Jetta TDI. I thought I knew what I was getting into, until problems started. At 4750 miles, my oil drain plug was stripped from the...

Pros: Fuel economy Comfortable Long maintenance intervals Design and ergonomics Good resale Cons: Higher maintenance cost Cup holders in a stupid spot Slow warm up in cold climates The Bottom Line: I would buy again, but probably a 5 speed just because they are a lot better on fuel.
The TDI in my opinion is a great car. There are alot of small problems with the car when they were new, but through recalls and warranty repair these issues should be fixed. The most common were windows that fall into the door and brake ...

Pros: Feels solid, excellent materials, nice handling, mechanically reliable, nice low end torque, good brakes. Cons: Poor fuel economy, many interior noises (rattles, squeaks), engine underpowered, high purchase price.
Purchased new. Experienced radio and window issues within 1st year. Repaired by dealer. MANY buzzes, squeaks and noises that I live with. Experienced grease like material leaking from lower front doors. Consumes 1 qt of oil/month. Overall, exterior and interior build, materials styling are very good - the one exception is excessive interior noise, which I noticed withing the first 5000 miles and was never resolved. I currently have 92,000 on the car and am starting to experience high service repair costs, i.e. CV joints, engine sensors. However, the engine has been been relatively trouble free.

Pros: 1. Short line a diesel pump
2.windows auto-up and down on both sides
Cons: 1. Service techs
2. Armrest collapsed, cover over ashtray broke.
3. Excess wind noise
Im a commuter, so I was looking at the Prius, Honda, and Focus. My wifes cousin owns a Prius and does not get 46MPG. GM has a diesel Hybrid that gets 70MPG, but only in Europe. Consequently, I bought the TDI with moon roof; leather heated seats, and goes 630 miles on 12.8 gallons of gas (49MPG). I love my car and the good outweighs the bad.

Great gas mileage in a very solid car

Pros: GREAT GAS MILEAGE, great price on diesel, good resale value Cons: I am unhappy with the dealership where I bought the car
I am a traveling sales person who purchased a TDI to help cut down on fuel expenses which at the time were running in the $400 per month range with my SUV. I retired the SUV to the wife and bought a TDI and noticed a difference immediately. Diesel prices are typically 25% less than regular gas and mileage almost triple what I was getting at the best of times in the SUV - I average over 50 miles to the gallon in this vehicle! On a good trip,I will even get up to 60! On top of this, the performance has been excellent, power is there when I need to pass - not like the diesel I tried out several years ago. The vehicle now has about 120,000 km on it and I have not had to do anything but oil changes. The suspension is sporty and I bought this car loaded. Everything feels like new still, and several other sales people I work with have now bought this vehicle and had a similar experience
