Pros: Safe Car at a Very Good Price Cons: It is not for those who cant a large trunk! The Bottom Line: The Volvo C70 gave me the luxury of having a convertible that I can feel safe in with my family
I was in search of a new car that would meet the needs of a family of three and yet give me the convertible that I wanted. I looked at every manufacturer of convertibles and I am very happy with the selection of the Volvo C70 convertible. One thing I...

Pros: quick acceleration, handles well Cons: ride, back-seat room, cargo room in convertible, aging chassis The Bottom Line: Although the Acura CL, and BMW 3-series are less expensive alternatives to the C70, a test drive is a must at the very least.
The C70 is Volvo's first DESIRABLE car since the original Volvo P1800. It comes in 2-door coupe and convertible, and has two available 5-cylinder engines, with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

Pros: Looks, Performance, Reliability Cons: Little Turbo lag, no multi-disc CD player (option), backseats
I bought my 2002 Volvo C70 about a year ago and love it. It's a very nice car without looking like you're trying to hard to stand out. Most people can't believe it's a Volvo! As for performance I have the coupe which only comes with the HPT (high pressure turbo) that cranks out 249 horses. It has a slight turbo lag but once it goes you better hold on! If you get a convertible make sure to get the HPT instead of the LPT (low pressure turbo). The HPT can go 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. Reliability hasn't been an issue and I've put 40,000 miles on it in the past year (now at 80,000). The downside is the backseat. It's virtually unusable. For some reason the front seats have to electronically move forward to let in a backseat passenger which takes forever. This should be considered a two seater with some storage in the backseats. Overall this is a fantastic car for a great price used! Brand new these go for $35-$40K but used you can get them for under 20K!
