Pros: Excellent feature content for little dough. Honda quality. Not particularly bad at anything. Cons: Styling too reminiscent of previous generation Honda Accord. Some random low-budget cues. Mediocre stereo. The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a reliable, value-packed luxury car that does it all but doesn't necessarily excel in one particular aspect, the Acura 3.2TL Type-S is for you.
Show of hands: how many people have stayed up late watching those infomercial ads? They always seem to throw in a whole bunch of stuff for your money, don't they? Well, the folks at Acura have been running an "informercial" of sorts ever since the ...

Pros: High feature content, lost of power, Honda quality Cons: Not rear wheel drive, some transmission issues, tires The Bottom Line: An excellent car, both in terms of value and performance. Just be sure to check its repair history to see if it had any transmission problems.

Pros: Value, Fit and Finish, Handling (for a front wheel drive car), ergonomics Cons: Its a slightly larger, well-appointed Honda Accord The Bottom Line: The TL - Type-S or otherwise - is an excellent car at an unbeatable price.
I recently had the opportunity to drive a relative's two-month-old TL 3.2 Type S for a couple of weeks and here is what I have found: Styling: The Japanese trio (Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti) of automakers has rarely taken chances ...

Pros: Bumper to bumper its a great car and a joy to drive Cons: My daughter may want to drive it when she gets her license. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a relatively affordable yet upscale ride then this is a ideal choice. The TL-Type S is fast and fun.
I have to say I love everything about this car. And I did a lot of research..like almost twenty years worth. Well that's not exactly true. Basically the last new car I bought myself was my much beloved 1984 Honda Prelude. I say that was the last new car...

Pros: Stealthy, fast, roomy, relatively good fuel economy Cons: Needs more tire, average stereo, transmission problems, huge turning radius The Bottom Line: A fast, roomy family car thats a bit sporty but sensible
This review might be a little late but might help people considering buying a used Acura 3.2TL Type-S. I've owned mine for almost three years, and have seen both the good and the bad about this car. Let's start with the good. First off, Honda makes ...

Pros: Not pricey, very powerful, great sound from exhaust and of course classy Cons: Real wood look (interior) only with white or black exterior, low ceiling The Bottom Line: This is by far the best $31,000 car on the market...safe, style, performance, luxury and dependability.
I'll start by saying I own a 1996 Acura 2.5 TL which is a great car, but I've had it for 5 1/2 years ...

Pros: Great Engine, everything is standard, excellent value. Cons: Transmission sometimes loses its smoothness. The Bottom Line: This car is great value with a quality feel and an outstanding level of standard equipment. It is very fast too!
I have had my 2003 TL-S for about five months now. I researched several cars in the $30K range and could not find a better combination of luxury, sports and standard equipment at the price. I had read several good reviews about the TL and was in the...

Pros: Fun to drive, well thought out interior, excellent Bose sound system. Cons: "Luggage Crusher" trunk arms. The Bottom Line: If you enjoy the finer things in life, but love to save money, test drive an Acura 3.2 TL!
I figured it was time to grow up. Being single I've always had convertibles and 2 doors...now I wanted something a little more conventional, a lot more luxurious but still fun to drive.
Test drove the Infiniti G35, Cadillac CTS, Lexus ES...

Pros: Acceleration, reliability. Cons: Outdated interior fit and finish The Bottom Line: This is an overall good luxury car for those who are fiscally responsible.
As a previous Audi owner I have to admit I loved my Audi way more however after the poor reliability and outrageous cost of routine maintenance, I was ready for something more reliable. The TL was a good choice. I like the style of this TL more than the ...

Pros: Reliable, Smooth drive. Backed by the Honda/Acura name. Cons: Minor negatives (see review), but I would still buy again. The Bottom Line: Great family car. Comfortably sits our family of four. It gets a little congested in the back seat with 3 people.
I purchased my 2003 Acura 3.2TL about 3 months ago. I think it was a good decision. The car had 35k miles on it and now I have driven for about 4k miles. It came fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Every one lists how great the car is - ...

Pros: Brisk acceleration; excellent acoustic insulation; bright xenon headlights; well-thought-out features; Bose sound system Cons: Poor lumbar support; spongy cornering and high-speed handling; requires premium fuel The Bottom Line: Overall it's a great car and Acura offers good warranty service. Isolates you from the noise of the outside world leaving you to enjoy the sounds you choose to hear.
Leave it to the Japanese to come up with something that is as functional as it is visually appealing. This car has brisk acceleration - you will find yourself passing others for sport; blazing xenon headlights - these things should be illegal they're so ...

Pros: well-thoughtout interior, instant response from pedal push, smooth torque curve Cons: too much plain plastic in interior, could use more headroom The Bottom Line: If you can overlook the lack of lavish interior treatments and accept the fact that the headroom is about the same as any 20k-40k range car, then you've gotta winner.
This review is for the TL Type S.
I love the styling of this car. It's understated, smooth, and simple. The 260hp engine is quiet and refined. When you push the pedal, instant response, unlike the Infiniti G35, which revs up and down and...

Pros: Type S = 260HP!!!, Price 30K Cons: Seat comfort, transmission issues, HID Light theft, Michelin stock tires SUCK!! The Bottom Line: This car is quite unimpressive for 30k. Contenders such as the Infiniti G35 and the Nissan Maxima are becoming more and more attractive.
I would have to say that the 2003 TL S-Type is an overall disappointment for a 30k. The stock tires are terrible. Pronounced road noise is heard in cabin due to the tires and an overall rough ride is felt until I changed out the stock tires. The seats...

Pros: Transmission issues supercede any other intrinsic values of the car. Cons: See Review Above. The Bottom Line: The transmission issue is very clear - the class action is factual and specific. The safety risk, decrease in value and inconvenience deteriorates the purpose of having this car.
It appears that the transmission on the Acura TL is subject to multiple repairs/replacement, having little or no reliability for the long term. I purchased a 2003 Acura Type S in May of 2002, and experienced the following: Transmission replacement ...

Pros: Options, Quality Craftsmanship, Price, Performance Cons: All of the options are standard, in case there's something you DON'T want. The Bottom Line: Take the time to compare it to the other cars in its class, and you'll see that nothing compares to the Acura in terms of features, performance, price, or service.
This car has simply dazzled me since the frist time I drove it. It has a spacious, luxurious interior, with lots of little things that make it extra cozy. The car performs wonderfully, with enough power to suit the needs of any driver (even very sporty...
