Pros: Solid, comfortable Ride, versatile, smooth V8 Cons: Who needs this car? The Bottom Line: Most people will find the Tahoe or Suburban more useful, but for those who need the extra cargo space and/or interior room the Avalanche is perfect.
Chevrolet is definitely hitting their stride with regard to building great trucks. Even the once lowly S10 is turning out to be a pretty good vehicle, and somewhat of a value to boot. The Silverado is a top choice, the Tahoe is stellar, and...

Pros: Versatility, smooth ride, fun to drive, roomy, feels safe, great extra features. Cons: MPG, no actual "accessory" option. The Bottom Line: Check out this truck before committing to anything... I think you'll like what you see!
We purchase a used 2003 Avalanche in Jan of 07, so we've had it for just over a year now and here's what we've found: First off, we had a Pontiac Grand Prix that blew up & my husband & I had to have a dependable vehicle. We went car shopping looking ...

Pros: Versatility, storage / towing / hauling capacity, interior room Cons: High back end, smaller brakes. The Bottom Line: I am certainly glad I remembered those ads. This truck has everything I need. I'll get another when this one is done!
THE STORY I remember the advertisements for this vehicle (change for a dollar, guy modifies the car, take the dollar) when they came out in 2002. At the time, I had no need for a truck at all, much less a large one. So I didn't think about it again. ...

Pros: Great looks, powerful engine, superb ride. Cons: MPG, entry height, no backup alert The Bottom Line: Definitely recommended. It really is the best combination of SPORT and UTILITY and has no competition from any other maker.
I upgraded from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee to the 2003 Avalanche Z71 and after 2 months still can't seem to get this grin off my face. This is just an awesome vehicle. It's basically the undercarriage of a Chevy 1500 truck with a modified ...

Pros: Smooth, Spacious, Versatile, Steering Wheel easy access. Cons: Mileage, Glitch in Electrical. The Bottom Line: It's alright, I should've gotten a z71. I go outdoors a lot and one time I went to the beach and got stuck in the sand.
This truck is totally awesome BUT when I was leaving to work a few days ago in the early morning, the rear lights were still on and i didn't think anything of it. So this monday morning while I was leaving to work again, I find out that the lights are ...

Pros: Comfortable seats, lots of features, smooth ride Cons: I believe they have problems with drive train and power train, and tow/haul mode ineffective. The Bottom Line: Great touring truck, great seats and ride, but dont expect to pull big loads. I believe there is a problem with chevy's transmission. My rating is the way it is/because/of/towing.
If you are looking for a truck to do touring, with minor haulings, the Avalanch is for you. If you want to pull, go somewhere else. I have a trailer, and on the same road, I pulled it with the 2003 Chevy Avalanche and a 1997 Ford f-150. As I was going in ...

I'll never buy a Chevy again

Pros: NONE Cons: Poor design, poor serviceability
I bought a brand new 2003 Avalanche in May of 2003...as of right now (Nov 04) it only has 11,000 miles on it and have had many service issues with it.
The wall in the back of the cab leaks regardless of what configuration it is in which causes the carpet to be wet thereby creating excess moisture in the cab. In Alaska, that's a bad thing as in a cold snap it all froze and shorted out the dash panel. Best part of it all is...the dealership says it's a design flaw and they don't have a fix...furthermore they the dash panel is on back order and they don't know when they'll get it in.
Along with that it already blew up one window motor and another design flaw causes the right and left rear view mirrors to crack when it gets cold.
Personally it's a piece a junk and I can't wait to get rid of it...and Chevy...you just lost a customer!

Pros: very comfortable seats, very roomy, smooth ride, great to travel in,cargo space. Cons: MPG in the city, although comparable to other trucks its size, size of gas tank.
I've always wanted a Chevy Avalanche, and I finally had the pleasure of trading in my Ford F150 and buying a Chevy Avalanche. This is the best thing I could have done. My son has never been fond of Chevy's but he had to admit that this is one great truck. In fact, after I bought it, he seemed to drive it more than I did for the first couple of days, making me drive his car until I put my foot down and took my truck back.

Pros: - Engine.
- Seats and comfort.
- the complete car. Cons: - consumption of full, although not bat for a car of it's kind.
The GMC-Chevrolet Avalanche we have is a very nice car. We use it as a marketing tool for the moment and you can be sure we have been seen with it.
The engine is a dream to cruise with.
We hope we will be able to enjoy the car for many more years to come.
