Inexpensive, nice looking, and good handling sedan from Chevy

by jenbud8_3
Jun 22 '04

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Affordable, good gas mileage, dependable, A/C
Cons: Didn't come with an alarm theft system or keyless entry.
The Bottom Line: It's a great, reliable car for someone who is in school or college. A dependable, good looking car with good gas mileage that's good for a first time buyer.

For the past 5 or 6 years now, I've been driving around in a 1997 Saturn SL1. Normally, they are supposed to be good running, dependable cars. My mom, however, has been having trouble with it for about the past 3 years or so from checking the oil more ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Quick off the line, inexpensive, decent ergonomics, good trunk space.
Cons: Poor handling, poor quality control, gas mileage is worse than competitors.
The Bottom Line: Not recommended because of its poor handling, poor quality control, and average gas mileage. There are many good alternatives available.

This is a review of a 2003, base model 4-door sedan, Chevrolet Cavalier with an automatic transmission. It is based almost entirely on an extensive one-week rental. Usually, I would be hesitant to review a product after such a limited amount of time ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Power, Smooth at times, daylights, cruise control, ABS, cd player
Cons: Almost Everything.
The Bottom Line: If you can't get this car used and for a really really cheap rate then dont buy it. Personally the mazada 626 would probably be more worthwhile

Cavalier at first onlook says one word and that is small. Its a compact right it should be small. Well Compacts can be small but still have some room in them. I gonna give you the real truth behind the cavalier Exterior: The design is not to bad ...

Jun 01 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: good torque and horsepower, ride, handling, fuel efficiency
Cons: interior build quality, resale value
The Bottom Line: Good car for the money, and seems to be pretty reliable and good on gas.

In March of 2003, I had a dilemma: I had a 2002 Silverado 2500 diesel and needed to get into a smaller, fuel efficient car. The reason: A big change in jobs. Instead of the need for a big truck in my profession, I found myself working downtown having a ...

May 29 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Everything works well, driving position, gas mileage
Cons: Bad design decisions, stereo, environmental controls, rear window noise, horn
The Bottom Line: Get one if you either really like it or if you're getting a good deal. It's nothing really special, not for car lovers.

I bought this car from a dealer, it was just off lease. It had 78,000 km when i got it. I've now put 3,000 km on it and am satisfied with my purchase. I paid $6500 for it (Canadian). '03 blue 4dr 5spd LS model. No ABS or Cruise - most other options ...

2003 Chevy Cavalier - disposable transportation

by oyarsa
Apr 09 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: inexpensive, quick acceleration, ABS brakes
Cons: poor layout, cramped interior, lack of quality
The Bottom Line: In economy or performance, you can do better elsewhere. This is basically a cheap, disposable car.

Disclaimer: We don't own this car. It was a rental for two weeks as our
Camry was being repaired.

This car has very few positive points, so I will get them out of the way first.

The Cavalier's greatest assets are it's...

Great for me!

Oct 09 '04 - Updated Oct 22 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Sporty appearance, affordable, reliable, safe.
Cons: No luxury, Not powerful.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend it only for a single or couple. Not roomy enough for a family. Good for short commutes, and tooling around town. Short road trips. Affordable.

I purchased a 2003 Chev Cavalier LS Sport. It had power windows, locks, ac, keyless entry, and sporty wheels, and spoiler. I have the sedan. Coming from a 99 Pont. Sunfire, the gas mileage isn't as good, but acceptable. Power lags on hills. ...

Pros: Acceleration, Handling, Quality (compared to others in class), **Sound System
Cons: Head Room
The Bottom Line: The cavalier is its a awesome car, great styling and good craftsmanship. Now that GM has 5k rebates on the vehicle it would be foolish to not take a look.

Aug 12 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Acceleration (manual transmission), gas mileage, insurance costs, styling.
Cons: Cheap construction, paint could be a little stronger.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this car to anyone that is a commuter or a student looking for reliable transportation.

I have owned my 2003 Cavalier since May of 05' and I really have no complaints about it. Sure the interior could be a little nicer, the seats are made of cheap material and I'm not a fan of the plastic rattles but come on now how much did you pay for ...

by the_whistler
Nov 26 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast Acceleration, Great Fuel Economy, In Expensive, Reliable. Friendly Dealer
Cons: Climate control Placement. Alternator Placement (haven’t had to change though)
The Bottom Line: I tested many cars and I found this car is for me. However you should also look into a civic. It was a toss up for me.

I bought this car in august and have since put on over 7000km, and I have yet to have any major problems with it. However when I bought it the front bushing needed replacement due to a slight squeaking. This cost nothing and was repaired very quickly. ...

Pros: Reliable, inexpensive, great gas mileage, decent looking, handles nice its very light.
Cons: Speed (compared to previous car), interior built cheaply, styling could be better (outdated).
The Bottom Line: Its a great car I really can't complain, it runs perfect and unlike my other cars its given me no problems.

I had purchased a 95 trans am and it had a load of problems so I went shopping for a reliable car. Ended up looking at my 03 cavalier 5 speed in arrival blue. The styling was alright but it wasn't really the car I wanted, however it was all I could find ...
