Pros: Sporty Feel, Good AC, POWER boost button, Good visibility all around. Cons: Defrost, Snow Handling, Tailgate, UNCOMFORTABLE seats The Bottom Line: Buy it if you don't plan on leaving the state, or don't have passengers go with you.
My sister traded in her 1995 Chevrolet Blazer in for a 2003 Tracker. Now she chose me to go on this escapade with her, to find a suitable replacement. We are a GM family, which gets the GM discount, so we looked at pretty much all the SUV's GM offers ...

Pros: Many features build for off road. Stiff and strong chassis. Cons: Gas mileage not as good as advertised. Auto transmission makes for dull driving. The Bottom Line: Would be a fun car if it was a manual transmission. Auto transmission is ok for transportation only. Slow and dull to drive. Trouble free for 50k.
4x4 4cyl Auto Trans, 4 dr. Don't buy the automatic transmission of this car. The engine is slightly underpowered. With the auto transmission, it shifts when you don't want it to. It takes a while to accelerate because the car always downshifts with only ...

Pros: cute, sporty vehicle that is easy to drive with decent gas mileage Cons: uncomfortable seats, not much room, vibration at high speeds The Bottom Line: I would recommend the Chevrolet Tracker. Overall, it is a dependable vehicle. I just would not recommend it for families or for long trips.
I recently purchased a silver 2003 Chevrolet Tracker. I was somewhat apprehensive with purchasing another Chevrolet vehicle as my previous vehicle was also a Chevrolet and it was nothing more than a nightmare on wheels the entire 6 years I owned it. ...

Pros: Good gas mileage, fun, practical SUV that will be the envy of your staid friends. Cons: Noisy, subject to wind, ergonomically impaired...i.e. somewhat uncomfortable. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a fun but practical little SUV, this is one to enjoy for a time. I believe I will outgrow it, but for now it's great!
p>I love my silver Tracker convertible, even though its four cylinders limits its road power. I commute a couple of hours a week in it, over and above my normal drives to work and around town. It is an automobile you KNOW you are driving when you are ...

Pros: Fuel Economy, 4x4 traction, reliability Cons: Base Tires, no AWD offered. The Bottom Line: The Tracker gets better fuel economy than our 4 cylinder Ford. The Tracker offers the safety of 4 wheel drive and comes loaded for only $16,800.
The Trackers design is classic and timeless which is not uncommon in the truck/SUV class. Our first choice of color was the new light Tan color offered for 2003, however this late in the model year colors were limited. We chose an Indiglo Blue Tracker...

Pros: Fun to drive, fairly economical, decent off road capability, reliable..so far Cons: Rear door opens wide, hinged on wrong side. Wind noise, seats for long trips The Bottom Line: Great for those with smaller families, Good off road, not a cross country driver, decent mileage, reliable. I'd buy another in a heart beat.
This is a great little SUV. I've owned a 1991, 1997, and now a 2003 ( 2.0 L ) and as expected it's the best one yet. I live in Northern Canada and we get a fair amount of snow and ice up here and the nearest large city is at least 8 hours away. I bought ...

My First "Cool" Car

Pros: 4WD and a really fun ride! Cons: The two-door convertible is tiny.
I bought my used Chevy Tracker one year ago. I was reluctant to buy the convertible because of its small size. Now I'm glad I got over the size issue and bought it anyway. It is a great little SUV. It has 4WD and a power boost switch that gives it the extra oomph to get up steep hills. The engine is only a four cylinder, so it's not the most powerful SUV but the gas mileage is very good. My Tracker has been very reliable; no problems at all.
The best part of owning the Tracker convertible ZR2 is the response I got when I drove it to Hilton Head on vacation. All of my cousins at the family reunion I was attending came over to ask if it was actually my car and not a rental. The tops were down and the radio was playing loud. It was such a fun car to zip around in at the beach.
Don't buy it if you have a large family, but the back seat folds down to make a decent sized cargo area. My dogs love it, and I feel like I can go anywhere!

A Whole Lot of Fun!!!

Pros: price, look, features Cons: none
I bought a Chevy Tracker about 6 months ago, and I love it! The tracker is cute and sporty, kind of a sleeker, more comfortable cousin of a Jeep Wrangler. I debated between the tracker and a wrangler for some time. The comfort, look, and size of the tracker were what influenced my final decision of the tracker. Mine is bright yellow, which only adds to the "funness" level. Although it is an SUV, the tracker seems to get fair gas mileage and handles very nicely. The model I bought has a hard top and four doors. It has very comfortable interior, as well as all the normal extras like CD player, cruise control, etc. I feature that I have been very impressed with this winter is the "shift on the fly" four wheel drive. The tracker also includes several features that would enable off-road recreational use. The tracker is very reasonably priced, the month I bought mine the dealership was even offering $4000 cash back. I have had no problems with my tracker at all.

Pros: Fun, convertible, easy to park, easy to accelerate with the power button, Great heater, AC Cons: Bumpy, a stiff wind feels like it is going to blow off the road.
Fell in love with the Tracker so much when I first saw one, bought it in manual transmission (all they had in stock in convertible at the time).
Top then was one piece, and a pain in the ....
Got tired of the manual fast, and traded it in 95 for a Black model, which I promptly took the cartoons off of. This was not a 4WD, but made a trip from Bucks to Lancaster County after Pennsylvanias 36 inch snowfall in Jan. 96 easily.
I know the cons, noisy, you can feel all the bumps in the road (Trackers are not meant for long trips, trust all of us)...but the pros outweigh the cons for me.
Now I have a 2003 Tracker, and would not think of trading my bright red with black top baby. Even when I inherit the 2006 Escape in a year or two, lil Red will be paid for, and I'm keeping her.
Love the look, especially with the top down.

The Little Truck That Could?

Pros: fun to drive, inexpensive, solid, body-on-frame chassis, this IS a truck, not a car. Cons: confined, seems outclassed by other small SUV's.
I owned one of these for 2 years, and LT model, four-door, loaded. It is a small truck, but handles well, and is peppy. A little bit of snow or ice will send the rear wheels slipping, so i learned to put it in 4-wheel-drive as soon as it got a little slippery. Room is not it's forte`, but it is a capable little hauler. Chevrolet is replacing it soon with the Equinox, and that should be more competitive with other small SUV's in the market.
